“Fantastic hotel, with everything you need”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

We stayed for 2 weeks, 2 adults & 2 children (13&8). Hotel has a brilliant layout with great pools & entertainment area. Staff extremely friendly & helpful & everything kept very clean. Good choice of food in restaurant & snack bar in pool area fantastic. Rooms spacious with great pool view & although we had small problem with hair dryer in room this was fixed within half an hour of us reporting it. This was typical of the excellent service provided by all the staff in the hotel. Would be happy to return here.

Just got back from a family 2 week All Inclusive holiday at Viva Can Picafort with my husband and 2 girls 7 & 2 (03/08/14 - 17/08/14).
The hotel is really lovely and very very clean, every single member of staff, from cleaners to waiters etc were polite and friendly.
The room was quite large (we were in block 5 at the back, ground floor room 5011) it had a separate bedroom with twin beds (not that comfy to be honest) and the sofa pulled out into 2 separate beds (quite comfy). English channels on TV were BBC1 and BBC2 and Cbeebies. The wifi in our room was non existent but once we went to the pool or restaurant etc it picked up.
The pools are great, there are 2 main pools and a splash pool with loads of slides, both my girls loved all of the pools. There are lifeguards on at all times also which was great.
SUNBEDS - if you put towels down and don't return within 40 minutes, the lifeguard will take them to his station.
The food was brilliant whether breakfast, lunch or dinner which was a different theme everynight. The waiter service is brilliant, constantly clearing your empty plates and glasses. You could eat at the pool bar at lunch time which was also really nice but gets busy. ALSO the drinks were all branded and included in the all inclusive.
The kids club is good according to my 7 year and there is pony riding every Wednesday at 5pm. It is all done in English, German and Spanish to include all kids.
There is a small park with a climbing frame and bouncy castle and trampoline all the kids were in everynight.
The evening entertainment was a mini disco for the kids to start with and then bingo from 9pm with cash prizes and then a different show everynight eg. The Beatles, divas Irish dance etc.
The beach is a 10 minute walk away and is really long and sandy but gets really busy. There are your usual shops with lilos etc and some bars and restaurants, but the area is very quiet, it even has a nature park.
All in all it was a great holiday and exceeded my expectations.

Just back from 11 nights all inclusive with two kids aged 9 & 5.
First the good:
Hotel staff absolutely faultless and work incredibly hard
All areas of hotel very clean
Quality of all inclusive food and drinks was very good, the canteen food was surprisingly good with a wide and varied choice and ask well cooked etc
Now the not so good:
The whole place, especially the rooms, needs bringing up to date, everywhere looked a bit dated and tatty, although clean!
The mattresses on our beds were terrible!
The hotel is no where near the beach.
Can Picafort itself is a dump to be honest.
The evening entertainment was repetitive and irritating at best.

Without sounding like stating the obvious this is a busy all inclusive hotel, if you are wanting a quiet relaxing peaceful holiday this is not the hotel for you!
Having said all that we had a good holiday but didn't feel it was as good as it should be given the cost....

We spent a week here early August with our children (14 & 11). Transfer took about one hour and we were the first drop off.
Our room on the second floor of block 1 was lovely looking over the putting green. It was immaculately clean with nice neutral furnishings. Our bed was a really comfortable king size with memory foam mattress. A huge balcony which we enjoyed sitting out on in the evening playing cards.
We had no problem getting sunbeds no matter what time of day, sometimes we went to the beach in the morning and always found three available in the afternoon. I think, since earlier reviews they have tackled the problem. They put a card on any beds with towels down saying if they're still there in 40 mins they will be removed and they do enforce this which is good.
The staff work extremely hard and are very friendly. You'll often see the waiters working in the restaurant at breakfast, then the pool bar during the day, then the restaurant for dinner and then at the main bar in the evening. The queues at the main bar do sometimes get quite long but they do move very quickly. The cocktails are fantastic! My favourite being a caipirinha! It's lovely having drinks served in proper glasses too as we've been to a few all inclusive where they're served in little plastic cups.
Evening entertainment not up to much. I saw a Michael Jackson act advertised on our second night and was really looking forward to a tribute act but it was two women and a man singing and dancing to his songs! We walked to the town most evenings after having an after dinner cocktail.
The town of C'an Picafort isn't up to much, there is a main pedestrianised strip with shops, bars and restaurants and then the seafront with the same. The beach isn't bad.
There is a good bus service on the main road. We got the bus to Alcudia spent a couple of hours there ( good market on a sunday) and then went up to Puerto Pollensa for a couple of hours. The bus cost 10€ for a family of four.
All in all this was a lovely holiday. I would certainly recommend it to families with children.

Just returned today after a two week stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff really go out of their way to make sure you are having a nice holiday, I've just read some reviews and am quite shocked. We went with our 11yr old and yes activities were a bit limited for him but we were there as a family so he just enjoyed family time, no problem!! The maids did a sterling job, we didn't expect them to wash our dishes, that would be ridiculous! Food was lovely and if you don't find anything here that you like then I'd be very surprised.. We found our fellow holidaymakers very pleasant and chatty, no problems at all. Sunbeds were aplenty, there's always the same old story about people feeling the need to get up at stupid o'clock to put a towel on a bed. It made me laugh, your supposed to be relaxing not setting your alarm clock for a sunbed.. the mind boggles..We took a wander into town a few times which is nice wee walk, not far, and there's plenty places to sit and have a wee cocktail or a bite to eat and sit by the beach. I would definitely recommend staying here and would go back in a heartbeat...

We went as a family of 4 to Viva Can Picafort for the second year running for two weeks from 22nd July to 5th August 2014. Before we went we emailed hotel to ask for a specific block and floor for hotel room and got exactly what we asked for, check-in was fast and easy and room was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Hotel grounds and pool area clean, tidy and well manicured, paths were swept and washed every morning. Food was great, lots of choice and themed evenings every couple of nights including cake night, tapas and chinese night. Drinks are plentiful, cocktails amazing and bar staff work tirelessly to keep queues moving so never waited long. Food at pool bar tasty and superfast. Ice creams available at pool bar for children to help themselves to, sandwiches and fruit and biscuits always available at main bar for when you want a quick snack. All serving staff either bar or in restaurant work so hard and are always friendly and cheerful, they seem to always be at work but still happy. Only problem was a shortage of sunbeds when we arrived but after a few people complaining the hotel supplied some spares left piled up so you could help yourselves so problem solved. Overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return agian sometime in the future.

Room Tip: Block 1 is nearer to reception and evening entertainment if you want a short walk home in the evenin...

First of all Germans ! Very German orientated hotel with broccoli on the breakfast menu ? And some other horrible things , inc, sausages, meat .
Very rude people , no common courtesy whatsoever ,disgusting people , even witnessed a couple having sex in the sea from our pedal boat !!
I hope I upset some of them by winning 243 euros on the bingo . :))
My daughter passed the ball back to one man in the pool with no reply ? No head nod , thank you nothing ..

German rant over back to resort ...

Hotel welcome was excellent, staff are fantastic , work very hard to make sure your stay in a good one,
First choice rep welcome...mmmm didn't see them , very poor service from them no information , apart from a leaflet pushed under our door two days in ?

Hotel facilities are good however , arcade/games machines are very dated and could do more for the 12-14 age range , pools are good ,not heated but by 10am a cold pool is a must ! 30-33c most days for us !
pool bar , pizza is excellent ! My fav anyway , all food from here is good , viva burger is excellent too , free ice creams are very good with choc ices , magnum 'style' ice cream , ice lolly , ice pops also , I wouldn't worry about the pay only ice cream fridge , the free ones are equally as good , pool bar tip - ask for large drinks or you'll just be dealt small ones , lager, slush, wine also available and many others from pool bar.

Main restaurant - excellent choice of food for all , cereal fruit, breads, yogurt, fresh pancakes and traditional German/British foods at breakfast

At lunch & dinner the choice is excellent as well , always changing daily.
unlimited drinks -Spanish lager is the only all inclusive one available but still very nice and strong at 5.4abv,sangria , red & white wine . To get a full range of cocktails you have to wait till 6pm for main bar to open , also in the main bar there are ham&cheese sandwiches available all day every day ,along with biscuits and fruit which we took to the beach ;)

Entertainment - viva really need to look at this , abba night brilliant ! 50's-90's night good , but all the rest was pretty poor , I think they need to invest in out side acts because I think are performed by staff, bingo every night which we enjoyed but not for everyone .also maybe background music around larger pool would be nice

Beach is lovely and clean ,banana boat is a must if you go (10 euros ) each , really good
Umbrella , sunbed & safe hire is 11 euros which I thought was good for the whole day , beach is about 5-10 min walk , not far at all , plenty of shops on the way too .

Room , very clean , beds not comfy at all , and need more or better pillows

All in all I would go again and ignore the Germans like they do !

Room Tip: Block 4 or 5 good view of pool and easy access ,email hotel a few days before and ask
