arrived back yesterday after a 2 week stay, the hotel is dated and in need of a refurb, as I unpacked the suitcases I had to wipe the sand off the wardrobe shelves before I could put my clothes away, there were also long hairs on the floor around the bed.
Our room was at the back of the hotel a few metres from the bus stop, I was constantly woke up at all hours from the coaches picking up and dropping off guests.
The food in the restaurant is not of poor quality, but evening meals seemed to be a mish mash of all sorts and I struggled to put a meal together, having said that, we didn't go hungry.
The pool area is a decent size but we needed to there at 8.30am to get a bed by swimming pool, the girl who monitors the reserving of sunbeds, doesn't enforce as she should,so the system doesn't really work.
The pool bar food is good and reasonably priced.
The beach is on the doorstep, but the sunbeds are 11.50 Euro and there is cigarette ends all around them, it was quite windy and the sea could be a bit choppy and I had to keep my child out of the sea with an airbed on quite few occasions.
Most of the staff are friendly enough but a few need to learn how to smile a bit more often.
The Thomson team were helpful and friendly and my child thoroughly enjoyed the activities in kids club.
Suzanne who does the mini disco,Bingo and pool volleyball is really nice and does her best to get everyone involved.
The shows in the hotel were OK at best and some were awful.
The resort does not have a lot going on and I thought lacked something, there is a bus stop outside the hotel and we went to Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa, both of which were better resorts, both for beach and facilities, all in all it was an "OK" holiday but I feel the hotel would only be a 2 star if it weren't for the fact it is on the beach. I would not return to the resort as I didn't think there was enough going on.

Room Tip: make sure you are not the roadside of the hotel especially near the entrance end as the constant pic...

We first visited this hotel 33 years ago for our honeymoon and then again for our 25th wedding anniversary. We couldn't believe that lots of the staff were still there!!

We have since returned a further half a dozen times cons very time it's like coming 'home'.

The hotel is right on the beach with lovely views across the bay. The food is superb, varied and plentiful. The hotel is clean and comfortable although some of the bedroom furnishings need updating. They are tired and a little worn but still perfectly clean and fine.

But best of all are the staff. Friendly, smiling, happy and hard working.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just stayed here for a week. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. 1st the plus points - great location right on the beach. Staff were very good overall but special mention to Wayne who works on the reception at night. After arriving very tired after a night flight he checked us in very quickly with no fuss which was greatly appreciated. Food was good & plentiful. 2nd the minus points - don't plan on getting a sunbed by the pool unless you're an early riser. We only managed to get some in the late afternoon. We spent our time on the beach, but you have to pay for sunbeds & umbrellas there. Also if you don't appreciate lots of children about I wouldn't recommend going in the school holidays.

This hotel is great for families. We have been to this hotel twice and have booked to go again for next year. Our 3 year old really enjoyed this holiday. Thomson kids club is great for the kids. The hotel has evening entertainment for Kids and adults. There is a lovely walk down the promenade into C'an Picafort itself which is a lovely place.
There is a bus stop right outside the hotel with buses to Alcudia and Palma.

The food is great along with the waiters. The waiters in the bar area are great and friendly.

Great hotel, not swish but very clean and tidy with enthusiastic, helpful staff. Food variable but never left with no choices. Mallorcan night was lovely.

Location can't be faulted, directly on the lovely son baulo beach; but beware sunbed hire can add significantly to holiday cost if you choose to use them. Addition of the beach bar serving light refreshments is great.

Don't forget to use the 'swap box' near kids club; great for picking up beach toys, magazines etc.

Special thanks go to Diego in the restaurant, Leia on reception and the girls in Thomson kids club who all went above and beyond to ensure our stay was fantastic.

Well done Thomson and Son Baulo keep up the good work and your repeat customers will continue to come back and recommend to others.

Just got back from an amazing week at the hotel Son Baulo. I went with my husband and two daughters 14 and 12. The hotel could do with a bit of a refurbishment but the location and cleanliness more than makes up for it. I would definitely visit the crazy horse just round the corner as Paco the owner is very welcoming and hilarious! He does amazing cocktails and the entertainment reminds you of manuel from faulty towers. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who loves the sun and the beach for a lovely family holiday.

Just got back from hotel son baulo in Can picafort Majorca, hotel was fabulous, food was varied every night, waiters and staff at the hotel were lovely, just wished the evening entertainment was a bit better, the resort was peaceful, not adviseable to go if you do not like walking, overall a great place to go.

Room Tip: It is about an hour transfer from the airport, so bare that in mind if you have a late flight, but c...
