“Lovely, friendly hotel!”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

We usually stay in large hotels but decided to try a smaller one this time, so glad we did! The staff were helpful and friendly and the hotel has a lovely homely feel. Meal times were relaxed and not the usual frenzy you get in large hotels, we had the same table reserved for every meal, which was nice. The food was of limited choice but always fresh and hot, we always found something we liked. The rooms are average size, the beds were comfy! The furniture in the rooms is a little dated (minor detail) but they are spotlessly clean as is the rest of the hotel. We had a room with a sea view which was lovely. We stayed for 11 nights and didn't want to leave, we would definitely go back!

Staff helpful; hotel clean. Wi-fi now available but limited in range to lower floors. Indoor pool is heated by the Sun! (but perfect when you've been out in the sun all day). Very small hotel on a road junction but we were not disturbed by traffic noise. Air conditioned rooms. A step into hotel so may be difficult for disabled but there is a lift to all floors. Difficult to access sea nearest to hotel due to rocky coast, however, 1 minute to the right is a large white sand beach with lifeguards. Sea can get choppy and Yellow warning flag were displayed a few days. Long promenade takes you full length of Ca'n Picafort (you could walk along coast to Alcudia). Food was varied and very nice, cooked breakfast and 3/4 choices for evening meals - all self service. No Thomson rep at hotel but a Folder was available in reception that gave basic information on picks ups and contact details.

I went with my family for 7 days wich goes very quickly! We arrived in the early hours of the morning which ment we had had a long day, there was very friendly staff waiting for you to arrive and get you quickly into your rooms which was good! The rooms was very clean, the cleaner came every day to make beds, fresh towels ect. The frount desk staff were very willing to help you no matter what it was, we used them maily for booking stuff like horse riding and car hire as they spoke much better Spanish than we did ! The food was not exactly to our taste, the food was a bit bland and boring as it maily catered for the older residents at the hotel who like more traditional English food, so hence we went out for meals most nights, at the beach bar across the road which has amazing milkshakes and the food is just so nice, and you can sit out and look over the beach while you eat, the staff there were very friendly and happy to help. I would recommend staying at this hotel as a couple as it didn't work that well for family as we had to have two separate rooms which was sometimes inconvenient!

Room Tip: Room 106-105 get wifi as room above resection desk other wise it's reception only

Booked this holiday through Thomson's small and friendly brochure. Just 29 rooms .
The hotel is in a great location just 1 min from the beach . It is spotlessly clean and nicely decorated , with beautiful red marble floors .
All the staff are very pleasant and helpful and the chef Augustin very attentive .
There is a first floor sunterrace with 20 beds and also a small indoor pool with spa and sauna , as well as a small gym .
We paid a good price for half board and said we could afford to eat out several nights if the food was repetitive . However we were pleased with the buffet menu and didn't feel any need to do so .
Many couples had returned several times , which is always a good sign .

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the road and with a partial sea view . There is little road noise , so I...

A little tired & dated, but well maintained and very very clean, we found a lot of people have been many times before, which has a lot to be said for that, but this hotel would not suit a lot of people, very small hotel, in a very nice area, quiet hotel and area, by midnight most places have closed. staff are very nice, English is spoken, Alison one of the main receptionist is English and lived in Spain for 32 years. Suitable for 'older' couples, not suitable for families with children, currently a Thomson hotel but next year will be going independent.
the bar attached to the hotel is run separately, this is well run and looked after, staff all very nice, lunches looked lovely, we had a seafood paella one lunchtime, (has to be pre-booked the day before) but was excellent and recommend it.
a very nice sun terrace on the 1st floor, with sun beds and umbrellas.
our biggest complaint was the swimming pool, we always look for a pool within a hotel, this one is indoors, which is fine, the pool is kept exceptionally clean but its too cold to swim in, other people we spoke to said the same, did try to gradually get in, as we hoped once in we would get used to it, but after trying once couldn't do it again as it was too cold and the sheer thought of it brrrr!, the sea was actually warmer than the pool, the 2nd problem was the food, chef and waiting staff work hard and keep the dining room again exceptionally clean, but choice is not great, most things would not be our choice but we did always find something to eat, was hot and fresh each day. so for us because of the pool & food we would not return, its a shame as we like quiet & small.
rooms are big and all have a balcony with tables and chairs, again exceptionally clean and well maintained, beds are comfortable and rooms cleaned each day, again nice cleaning staff. Fridges & safes are available to hire, hairdryers & irons have to be requested from reception.
and air con in the rooms

My wife and I returned to this hotel for the second time in just over a year and we had an excellent holiday again.
The staff, cleanliness and service are second to none. Food could be better but with only 20 odd rooms the chef does his best and most days you will find something you like. The menu is posted on the noticeboard around midday so if you don't like anything you can always eat out that night.

With regard to the rooms they are clean an spacious. Some with double beds and some with two singles pushed together. The rooms at the back get the sun in the late afternoon so that you can sit out and roast but they look onto a German hotel which has music and entertainment each night. That can stop anytime between 10.30 and 11.25 which was the latest when we were there. The front rooms are quieter and also cooler as they only get the sun first thing in the morning.
The hotel is situated in the Son Baulo area which is close to 2 miles to the bustling centre of town. It is a nice walk but can be tiring in the heat of the day. Buses and taxis are cheap however. The age range of the guests tend to be 40plus as there no on site entertainment. There is a sun terrace that gets the sun all day and an indoor pool that is not well used. We had it to ourselves most days.

We will return.

Room Tip: The noise at the rear will not suit those who like an early night.
