This was our third thompson gold holiday, which again never failed to please. The hotel was well laid out, with large well maintained grounds with good size pool and plenty of beds to relax on.The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant was nicely furnished and your party had its own table although not the same one throught the stay. The food we found was very good, the best out of the 3 gold hotels visited. The choice was excellent, cooked well and hot with staff efficient and pleasant. The room was a good size with its own fridge, and was cleaned and made up every day.The entertainment was excellent with the reps keping the day time actvities going, thompsons evening entertainment team were very professional, with great voices and a good selection of themes, and also acts from the uk. brought in twice a week along with local turns. The only small fault we could find with the hotel was the all inclusive times, 11.0 am t 11.0 pm. Everyone we spoke to had the same opinion, and felt it should be say 10.0am to 12.0 pm and most would be prepared to pay a little extra to enable this. The hotel was adults only and al l british clientele so we didnt have to put up with the inconsiderate russians who seem to be invading all the holiday resorts.
Outside the hotel is a lovely big prom and a local nature reserve which is great for a good walk if you wish. The main town ha good beaches and plenty of restaurant/bars but we found lacking as regards live entertainment in the evening.
Su mmi ng up we had a very enjoyable holiday here and would well recommend it.

We arrived at The Picafort Park Hotel on the 23rd August for a 10 day A1 holiday. We are in our mid to late forties and had our 25 and 17 year old sons with us for a much needed family break. The pool exceeded our expectations! It is HUGE! There was a good mix of ages and the ambiance was lovely! The food was excellent, with a wide and varied menu everyday. The
Entertainment team Selina and Ailsa were FANTASTIC!! We all enjoyed participating in the French Boules and the boys enjoyed taking part in the Volleyball games in the pool. There was good entertainment in the evening, with the comedian "Tucker" being our family favourite. We went on three Thomson excursions, The Orange Blossom Trail, a day out at sea on a catamaran and The Pirates show, all trips were absolutely amazing! With the Thomson coach picking you up right outside the hotel and bringing you back again. I would definately recommend this hotel. Thank you Picafort Park for such a wonderful holiday, we shall definately be returning for more!

Room Tip: We were in B203 & B204. No sea or pool view. Block H has a good pool view

Stayed here from 24th to 31st August. We are 2 adults aged late 40s to early 50s and felt quite young compared to most of the others but that wasn't an issue, the hotel room was a bit shabby but like other reviews say you don't go on holiday and spend a lot of time in your room. The pool and grounds are lovely and kept well, apart from one day when there was a lot of pine needles in the pool which the man cleaning the pool just ignored. The all inclusive option we thought was a waste of money, there was a surcharge on some food and drink even tho you paid extra for your all inclusive. The food was lovely and there was plenty off options to choose from, there was meat cooked for you while you waited. The only gripe I had was the fact that men weren't allowed to wear shorts in the dining room, not even shorts down to your knees, but a couple of younger woman wore shorts so tiny you could see their bottoms. Completely out of order. You had to pay for the wifi but we found a bar just around the corner called Scandals bar which had free wifi and very cheap drinks, 2 bottles of San Miguel for 3 euros and showed football. We never watched the evening entertainment in the hotel so can't really comment. We walked into Can picafort in the evening or got a local bus to Alcudia. We got a local bus to Puerto Pollensa one day which was a lovely place and well worth a visit. Alcudia old town also worth a visit which has lots of nice bars and restaurants. There was a little train called the ting ting train which stopped right outside the hotel which was 3 euros each and was very good. The Daytime entertainment was ok and you were never hassled to join in. All in all a very relaxing holiday and we would return in a few years time.

We have spent many holidays at this hotel and have always enjoyed the quiet, peaceful environment where you could hear a pin drop in the spacious grounds around the pool. We are always given a very warm welcome each we return and the staff are very friendly and helpful. This year, however, with a combination of a younger, rowdier crowd attracted by All Inclusive and the loud nature of the entertainment staff, we felt the hotel had lost its’ tranquil ambiance. A very small minority of guests (around 5-10%) took part in the hourly day time activities including French Bowls, killer darts, aqua keep fit and volleyball (which monopolised the shallow pool and ramp for up to an hour each day). For those of us who did not want to participate, there was no escaping the noise. The entertainment reps made regular announcements over the PA system and kept up a noisy commentary of the games which we thought was totally unnecessary as those involved in the games could have heard without shouting. The evening entertainment is not to our taste and we don't take part in this during our holiday, preferring to have a peaceful walk along the nearby promenade. But for those who enjoy a hi-de-hi type of evening including bingo, the resident duo, Thomson shows and mindless chatter from the reps, it seemed to be popular. We noticed there were much fewer tribute bands this year. It would appear that Thomson want to change the nature of this hotel which is a shame for those of us who loved it the way it was.
As always, the food was delicious with a varied choice every night. Congratulations go to Jose Carlos, the new chef, who has introduced lots of improvements. The rooms were perfectly adequate although would benefit from being refurbished. There were always plenty sun loungers available and plenty space to sit on the poolside sun terrace or the spacious grass areas where trees provided shade if desired. The huge pool is magnificent and with varied depth and ramp access, allows everyone to enjoy it.
We may try Thomson Couples hotels in future in the hope of finding a more tranquil and peaceful environment again with more low key entertainment.

Arrived at The Picafort Park on 18th August for one weeks A.I.stay. Stayed with our daughter and son-in-law (late 20’s, we are early 50’s) Our 3rd Gold hotel , 1st time here. Check in very swift, by welcoming staff, no welcome drink, but cases taken straight to our rooms.

E-mailed the hotel prior to arrival to request rooms in the same block, just what we got! Stayed in Block K both rooms overlooking the pool. As it was my birthday, my daughter and her husband had arranged a bottle of champagne to be waiting for us. A lovely touch. The rooms were very clean and towels changed daily. Really comfortable beds, air-con wonderful, plenty of wardrobe space and a fridge too! Our bathroom was very clean but may be ready for updating, daughters room had an updated bathroom!

Lovely spacious garden areas near the pool or in quieter areas away from the activities. Really large pool, varying in areas and depths from 0.45m to 1.70m. Plenty of sunbeds available, the ones by the pool were usually reserved early but we preferred to be on the grass area with the palm trees for shade if needed, more space there and a good view of all the pool area and to watch the activities taking place. Never had a problem getting 4 sunbeds.

Although not all drinks on the menu are included in A.I. there are certainly plenty to choose from. Wines, sparkling wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks, hot drinks, house cocktail and of course sangria. Only certain snacks available from the pool bar during the day, but after a visit to the dining room there really is no need to indulge further! The food in the restaurant at all meal times is of a huge variety, there really is something for everyone. I really cannot understand people who complain about the food. The only problem we all had was deciding what to have!! All the staff in the restaurant work very hard and your plates are soon removed from the table but with no rush to get you out of the restaurant!

The entertainment team, Selina and Ailsa, worked very hard, with a variety of activities through-out the day but no pressure to participate. French boules was very popular…and good to watch too. Other Thompson reps available in the hotel if you needed anything.

The entertainment at night was the usual resident duo, bingo and then an act at 10.00pm. We saw the African footprints (very good) a comedian (ok) and the brilliant Two Oceans Drifters tribute. Singing and dancing followed again with the duo at 11.00. Plenty of seats inside and a smaller selection of seats outside too.

Although not the most attractive looking hotel, everything else makes up for it, especially the food and the staff. Area around the hotel very flat, two minutes to the sea front, 5 minutes to Son Baulo beach and about 15 minutes to the centre of C’an Picafort.
Met some really nice people here too. Overall a really relaxing holiday and we all would book Picafort Park again.

Have just returned and will find it very hard to fault. We arrived at midday from Bournemouth flight and were quickly processed at Reception (no hard sell of all inclusive but handed details of it as an option - which we did not take up). We then walked through to the pool area and wondered if we had arrived at an old peoples home in the sun - it was so quiet! So what happened then?
Location -
this may explain why it was so quiet as it it actually about a 20-30 minute stroll from the hotel into the centre of Can Picafort (although bus and road trains are easily accessed from the hotel). That said, there are shops, bars and restaurants within a few minutes of the hotel which is a 5 minute walk to the beach. Scandals is a good local bar to watch sport if you feel you will miss out. It took less than an hour to get to/from Palma airport. The area was very peaceful and although the hotel is surrounded by roads, there is not a lot of traffic.
Accomodation -
We had a ground floor room facing the pool in D block. The pictures on here and Thomsons site are an accurate reflection of what you get. It is clean, comfortable and meets your needs, assuming you dont want to spend hours in your room. As all blocks are built around the pool and inner complex it is easy to move around.
Facilities -
First I need to mention sun beds. We never had a day without getting them. There are some that are pool side next to parasols which are fixed into the ground so cannot be moved around. These do get reserved quite early. Witnessed some enthusiastic older people laying their towels out between 7:30 and 8. We would typically arrive pool side around 10 and easily pluck sunbeds from around the grounds and move then onto the pool terrace or on one of the grassy (real grass) areas which are kept clean and green. So no problem with sun beds. Saw a comment about Hi Di Hi atmosphere and can recognise that a little. The Thomson reps are enthusiastic and keen to ensure those who wish to have fun and not lie still all day have plenty of opportunities to do so. We joined in with some and not others - its a personal choice. My tip for those who do not want to join in with these is to get sunbeds on the grass areas outside the blocks rather than near the pool which is where most of the activities take place.
Food -
Plenty of choice at the restaurant for all meals and you will struggle not to find something you like. We were half board and were happy to pick up snacks from local shops. There is a supermarket (small shop - dont expect a Tesco), within 5 mins walk and they bake their own pies and cakes - yummy, well worth a visit. We heard some people complain about the bacon being too crispy but look, this is personal preference and the staff would do all they could to meet your needs but there will always be people who prefer to moan about it afterwards.
Entertainment - good evening entertainment provided but would recommend getting out and into Can Picafort. They do the usual quizes and bingo if you want to take part. We saw a tribute to the Drifters which was excellent. The touring Thompson group were also very smooth on 2 nights and there was a really funny comedian on another. Again this will be personal choice/ Tip - Dont sit at a table near the speakers. It does get hot in this room. Also note - if you sit outside, you may struggle to hear the bingo but cooler than inside.
Overall -
Had a great time. My initial concerns were soon addressed when I saw lots of younger people (still over 16) staying too and all were very well behaved and considerate. No younger children running around creating stressed parents - bliss! Would we go back again? Definatly.

Room Tip: Ask for pool facing - not much point asking for sea view as you wont see much.

We stayed at Picafort park for 11 nights from 19th August, on arrival hotel staff very friendly but they do try and push the all inclusive option, we were in H107 with a view of the tennis courts, bit dissapointed but hey how much time do you spend in your room anyway? Room was clean if in need of an update, beds were a very comfy memory foam.
Pool was absolutly great with lots of sunbeds in a lovely garden area, pool and garden tenders do a fantastic job. Only had one midday snack at the pool bar but the service was very good and the Hawian toastie I had was very nice. The restaurant staff were very friendly and my husband loved Victorias freshly made omletts, I was not impressed by the juice out of the machines just not nice, but I have innocence orange juice as a morning juice so prob not a good measure. Meals in the eve were fine could always find something to eat husband often having 4 courses, but for me after a visit to the salad bar with a couple of bits of bread just a small main and a taste of dessert was enough, how people who are all inclusive feel after all that food I do not know, we did think about going AI but after thinking about it for a day it made me feel ill the thought of the option of all that food and just sitting by the pool!!!
We were dissapointed to find that all eve entertainment was inside we have been to 2 other Golds and both had an ouside area for the eve, but here the only ouside bit is populated by the smokers, so we went down to scandals( you get free wi-fi there too and the staff are so lovely and remembered us after just one visit) after the first few nights of trying to get a seat after an after dinner walk was a near impossiblity, and unless you want to listen to the bingo every night you have to wait until 10pm for the main act, now African footprint were the act on, on our first night, they were fantastic such talent, and on the walk back to our room I said "oh well it will be all down hill after that" and with the odd exception I wasn't wrong, best of British were also good and Tucker was very funny even if I only saw half of it. 2014 the hotel if offering free wi-fi and about time to, I did buy 4 lots of half an hour wi-fi or a Euro a time, but after finding Scandals had cheaper drinks and FREE wi-fi didn't buy another drink in the hotel bar and we wern't the only ones, scandals was full of hotel people! The entertainment team were very good and kept my husband occupied for most of the day well done to Selina and Ailsa, they worked very hard. It was my husbands birthday whilst at the hotel and a very nice touch from the hotel was a bottle of wine in our room with a card wishing him a very happy birthday. so to sum up if you want a relaxing holiday in nice surroundings with friendly staff then give Picafort park a go. We will come back again, in a few years.

Room Tip: Blocks G,H and K if you want a pool view room you want rooms 1-5 rooms as 6-9 have either a tennis c...
