The Haiti is a 3* Majorcan Hotel with a bit of work needed. It has dedicated hardworking staff who put up with a lot of very arrogant and moany people, ranging from Nescafe coffee man who hasn't yet come out of his cave to the Champagne Lifestyle lemonade money gang who regularly brought their mates in from other local hotels to take advantage of the free drinks!!! ( Wristbands a must for next year !!! )
I sometimes feel ashamed to be a Brit as we appear to be self centred jingoistic idiots who cannot accept that maybe we should attempt to at least embrace the culture and peoples of the countries we visit.
Anyway that rant over !!!
The Hotel Haiti is a fine establishment that serves good food on a daily basis to a particularly fussy bunch of people. There is always a good selection of food at every sitting.
Breakfast :- If you want you can have an unlimited full english everyday complete with mushrooms, hash browns and bubble. But also you could just have cereal, toast or even perish the thought FRUIT !!!!.
Lunch:- A full selection of Salad dishes, Meat dishes, Fish of varying kinds and again that FRUIT!!!
Dinner:- Much like lunch a really good selection and from what i can gather its on a 2 week rolling menu that ensures there is always something new to try. My 12 year old always found something to eat and loved the fish dishes in particular.
Some of the guests could do with partaking in the aforementioned Fruit and salad as on occasion it did look like a convention for the US obesity programme.
The Staff are great from the Cleaners who work hard from early morning until some of the very later risers can be bothered to get up. The bar staff in particular Juan are superb and given the turnover of people in the Hotel to remember your drink is frankly amazing.
As an entertainer Jade was superb, she was so full of life whatever the time of day and spent many happy moments in the pool ( even when it was a little chilly !!!) She ruled at the Mini Disco and the kids adored her from the tiny 2 year olds up to the Teenagers. She has boundless energy and should be commended for her hard work with both the little ones and the adults.
On the entertainment front if you want to see a Broadway show every night then dont go to Majorca, it doesn't happen !!! If however you are content to be entertained by the normal standard of Island hoilday 3* entertainment then this does just fine. Sometimes i find the bad acts just as entertaining for their badness ( not a word i know but it fits here!! ) But there are also acts like Xerox who tour the island year in year out and put on a great show.
All in all the Haiti is generally ( barring the odd idiot who you find in every hotel ) good clean fun.
I think that the All Inclusive biling is a little misleading but if you look at it as Full Board with free drinks then this would be a better description. I will be back again and i think given time and a few tweaks here and there the Haiti will grow into a quality All inclusive destination.
Finally i have to mention 2 things. The sunbed race is a joy to behold, but many times i came out of breakfast at 9 and still found a sunbed available so the doom and gloom merchants who say you just cant get one clearly didnt try til at least 10 am and i defy anybody to go on Holiday to most Hotels of ths size and find a sunbed after 9 !!!! Get up earlier !!!!
And the second thing is the Magnum rush, this is even better and a great display of the greed of some !! The ice cream freezer is stocked all day long with varying lollies and such, but when the Magnum type ice creams are put in people go bananas i actually saw 1 lady with 7 of these ! and when the barman in very good english told her 1 per person she apparenty couldn't understand him although i could at least 10 yards away which takes me back to my first paragraph !!!!!!
Go the Haiti if you look at the brochure properly read what you are actually going to get you will not be disappointed.
