Good parts = staff friendly, and helpful when asked for info, best part of being at this hotel was the staff and the view of the sea from huge terrace (room 108).
Bad parts = lack of notices pointing out where to find the pool (an oasis of peace and a suntrap but only found by accident on day before end of holiday), what time room to be vacated on last day, where to find internet etc. Breakfast very basic with alternating ham, fried eggs and beans one day and scrambled eggs the next with usual continental meats and cheese, breads, toast as is to be expected and sufficient for a start to the day. Evening meals very dismal, smelled nice coming down the stairs but visually not at all appetising so we ended up eating out every night for a week. Could not even make up a salad instead as, again did not look at all appetising with very small choice.
Room clean, towels changed when needed, bed clean but uncomfortable, bathroom an absolute joke as it is a converted built-in wardrobe with not enough room to turn around and elbows banged on walls when sat on toilet and had to dry off after a shower in the room as could not move to dry oneself in the bathroom.
Front facing rooms very noisy as no double glazing so did not sleep more than a couple of hours at a time due to being woken up regularly by traffic, noise from bar across the road and noisy night revellers on their way home from clubs.
To be fair receptionist did offer a room with "bigger bathroom" on our 3rd day but as only there for a week was not worth changing as getting used to it by then.
All in all not our best holiday by a mile but we did enjoy ourselves and are busy catching up on good food and sleep at home before my husband has to return to work next week.
Transfers were unbelievable but will review them elsewhere. Warning!!!!!! previous reviewer absolutely correct, kept waiting 1hour 30 mins on arrival as driver waiting for other flights so although we landed at 7.45pm did not get to hotel until 11.30pm. On return took 2 hours 50 minutes from hotel to airport.

Room Tip: Back rooms away from main road do not have as good a view but are quieter with bigger bathrooms.

Exellent Hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Food basic but good. Room again basic but very clean, towels changed daily. Location as brochure 5 mins from beach, good beach and promanade.
Local shops, bus stop near hotel.
Word of warning- It is not 1hour 10 min transfer from the airport. We were on the bus for 2hours 30mins outward and on the return to the airport.
Overall satisfied, would recomend this hotel.

Room Tip: rooms at the back poor view, but more sun.

Stayed at the Galaxia for 10 days 1st - 10th April. What a great value for money budget hotel!. We had read the reviews before booking and fully understand the star ratings although we feel that this amazing little find is worthy at least another 1* if not 2 more stars.

We had room 403 which was at the front of the hotel, sea facing and with a great view across the harbour. Rooms were cleaned and serviced every day with fresh linen. We had plenty of room for 2 adults and a 9 year old as we had a small adjoining bedroom. Bathroom was sufficient for our needs and we always had hot water.

Staff were on call around the clock and were always eager to please, many thanks to Jamie and Antonia (management), Pedro, Peter and Tamas who seems to run the bar and restaurant, for making this cheap break so enjoyable.

The atmosphere at the hotel was very friendly. Guests, of all nationalities, socialised in the hotel bar each evening watching football, playing billiards or chatting. Bar prices were extremely reasonable.

Food choice was ample for a budget hotel and we were happy with the selection on offer. Although full board we did not go to lunch and were possibly the culprits that Babs G slandered in her earlier review, hahaha, what a mundane existence it must be for those who have a need to watch what others are eating at mealtimes instead of enjoying their break!

We enjoyed the company of a diverse range of fellow travellers and like minded folks. Hello to and thanks for the company of Jane and Jim, Herman and Elke, Luca and parents and the lovely ladies from the Wirral x

Room Tip: Room 403 was great for views, hot water, decent bathroom and space. Would probably be good during th...

I have just returned from an eight day stay at the Galaxia. I went with a group of 8 cyclists on an
early season training week. We were all impressed with the hotel, we had half board, the food was good and plentiful, a buffet style service with a choice of three main courses every evening. Having cycled for a minimum of 4 hours every day, we were all hungry, there was always plenty of food.
We had four rooms between us, they all varied in size, the corner rooms were the best, all had balconies, some had sea views. The majority of the bathrooms were small, but adequate. Clean towels provided every day.
The dining room and bar were charming in a sort of dated way.
Drinks were competitively priced compared with other bars in the town.
The hotel has a swimming pool which I didnt use but it looked fine.
There was a secure garage for storing our expensive bikes.
It was a one minute walk to the great beach.
The biggest asset the hotel has is the staff, who were all really nice, helpful and all spoke some english and were amused by our attempts at speaking Spanish.
I admit to having some reservations about this hotel when one of our party booked it, and then told us the price. (booked through Alpharooms) I thought if it is that cheap it's got to be too good to be true. I was wrong, it was AMAZING VALUE.

Room Tip: The corner rooms were good, 208, 308, 408, sunny balcony, not near the noisy lift.

We Stayed at The Galaxia 10th - 14th April 2013, we only wanted a cheap & cheerful short break before our summer holidays. You definately get what you pay for but we were pleasantly surprised. Our roon overlooked the back - so not a great view, however as we did not spend much time in the room - this was not a problem. The bathroom was a good size (not small as mentioned on here) and all facilities worked, Towels were changed every day. The room & hotel was very clean. All the staff were extremely helpful & friendly. The food was not Cordon Bleu however it was all edible and sufficient choices available. The bar stayed open until the last person left. The season had not yet started so many places were not open, was quiet but lots of cyclists & fitness freaks!.The weather was also very good for the time of year. The swimming pool was very clean & not many people used the area so we had it to ourselves at times, it is a real suntrap. We would not hesitate to return.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the hotel had better views but not much sun.

This hotel is cheap and cheerful with a relaxed atmosphere. The first room 401 was small right next to lift, its bathroom was apart from room facing others balconies. The shower didnt work the toilet did not flush no screening from other residents. The lift is right alongside the room almost inside so noisey. After explaining this was unacceptable to the manager and being firm he changed the room to one that we felt was acceptable although all balconies face each other at the back so ask for seaview. The food plentiful to which some greedy people took the full advantage. Stealing bread and ham cheese fruit to make up lunches which was just sheer greed. They either very poor or tight. The staff worked very hard. The resort is beautiful.

Room Tip: Ask for 311 onwards avoid 01 numbers
