arrived back from floriana resort 3 days ago ,first time ever in spain and first time abroad for my daughter and grandchildren ,,,,,,absolutely nothing negative to say about the resort or cala bona itself ,,we were so happy there and felt so safe walking back the 15 minutes to our apartment from the harbour ,,,we were in G block .but were more than happy ,we were in room 2050,,massive balcony right in front of the pool ,clean as a whistle and all we needed for self catering but ,we ate out every day basically because we couldn't be bothered to cook for ourselves ,must recommend La Cala Italian restaurant ,Georgio was an excellent host and his staff were very attentive ,and the food ..OMG bellisimo ,we went almost every day ,Smithys was good for breakfast ,they are also on the harbour ,,we also hired wheels most days to take us to Callor Millor,,,,,,,wheels consisted of a bike for my granddaughter and 4 wheel buggys for myself daughter and grandson ,,what a laugh we had in them ,the great thing was there is a cycle path running for miles alongside the pavements ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,everything you needed for kids was there ,but the pool at the resort and snorkling on the harbour side beach was what my grandchildren loved the most ,simple fun ,Callor Millor beach was very crowded but we rode to the very end of it and found less people ,4 euros for the beds and shades all day ,,,we want to go back again and will .im planning on going with my sister but would like to stay at the Cala Bona Hotel right on the harbour ,the entertainment there was very good ,,,,,,,only downside were our flight times ,midnight going,, and 3 15 in the early hours return,,so we hadn't slept for 24 hrs prior to our return ,,but all in all a fantastic holiday and a definite return to Floriana resort for the family ..........very family friendly and no drunken yobbos or a tacky fish and chip shop in sight ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,my kind of place .its situated in a residential area ,very well maintained too ,thank you to the staff of floriana resort you were helpful polite and friendly and we will see you again , ,oh one thing I didn't mention was ,the sofa beds had really good matresses ,and my bed in the bedroom was superb slept so well very comfortable .air conditioning was excellent ,even though there was a kettle I took my own small travelling one as it was quicker to boil than on the hob ,

Room Tip: we had a ground floor in G block room number 2050,,we had no noise at night and hopefully will book...

Just back from 2 weeks at the Floriana and happy to recommend it. A large development of apartments set in well landscaped grounds with 3 different pool complexes. Well-run hotel with friendly reception staff who we found to be very helpful. Spent our first two nights in block G which is on the edge of the complex with it's own basic pool. Seems that most of the British/Irish guests (who tend to be self catering) are allocated rooms here rather than the main part of the complex where the majority of folk are German visitors on the all-inclusive package.
We felt just a bit out of all that was happening and asked at reception if it was possible to move rooms. Staff couldn't have been more helpful - asked us to come back in the morning and gave us the key to a room in block D to see if we liked it better. We did and spent the rest of our holiday very happily there. I should say that both rooms were clean, well equipped and spacious with a separate bedroom, living area with 2 sofa beds and dining table & chairs, kitchenette and bathroom.
Each also had a balcony and a good room safe which could be hired for a modest cost. A cleaner came in 5 times a week, fresh towels were provided almost every day and the bed linen was changed once a week.
We hired bicycles from the hotel one afternoon to do a bit of local exploring which cost just €3 each. The reception staff were also very helpful and provided us with very clear information when we wanted to use public transport for a trip to Palma.
The hotel provided a wide range of activities for both children & adults and the team which provided them were multilingual. I'm a wee bit puzzled at some reviews which said that it was all geared for the Germans as we found that usually announcements and explanations of what was happening were given in English, Spanish & German.
Cala Bona itself was just a few minutes walk away and provided a great range of restaurants in the evenings.
All in all, a good place to stay and one we would definitely consider returning to.

Enjoyed our two weeks at the floriana resort,we were put in block G with a mix of english..irish and a few germans,.this turned out to be a great spot as the other pools were very busy and the pool here is very child friendly,We didnt have to get up early for beds as people only put towels out from 9 onwards, you can cross over to the next pool 1 min across from G this pool is very deep but have a kids pool as well. There is another pool behind main reception this is where the entertainment is on and here you have a sand area tennis courts and football/basketball court between blocks. Floriana is very big and spread out so its a great place for kids. BIP supermarket from G first turn left then down steps to roundabout and left again to end of road less then 10 min walk{hubby says 5} also spar from G keep going straight to end of road and then turn left down at end of road under 10 mins to here as well,Fine big apartments, met a lovely family from roscommon and my daughter made a couple of great friends here hugs and tears when we were leaving,

Room Tip: We had a room on the ground floor but all rooms face the pool in block G and there is also a lift...

Stayed here self catering through a Thomson package with my mum and the staff were all very friendly, the rooms were extremely neat and clean - could not be faulted.

Staying here self catering was great as the harbour and heart of Cala Bona including the peaceful beach is less than 10 minutes walk away from the resort. The resort also has a lot to offer for all inclusive packs!

However, the only downfall was when we arrived which was early hours in the morning and were escorted to our block which was G...this happened to be the block which they accommodate the "British" only in and we were disappointed as this block was deserted from reception and everything and the bathroom smelt badly.

However, having spoken to our rep the following morning we were moved within half hour to I BLOCK which i highly recommend for everyone - quiet at night yet busy and atmospheric throughout the day.

Would definitely stay again!

Stayed here the first 2 weeks in July with family of four, kids aged 12 &15. We were in block G on the top floor which were quiet and we had a fantastic view over the countryside which was gorgeous as there was full sun from the balcony from midday on. The apts were basic but suited us as we used them as a base really to explore the resort. Saying that, my kids spent a lot of time at the pool which were quiet and they could always get a sunbed. As this is mainly a German resort there was a bit of a feeling of 'us and them' as we were in the minority, but we didn't let that bother us and went to quite a few of the 'shows' that they put on in which 5 Slavakian and German reps prance about to English music miming the words. After a few cheap cocktails at €2.50 a go it was quite a laugh.
Cala Bona as a resort is really lovely with nice restaurants, especially Tasca des Port - Spanish tapas for €2.50 each, very authentic. Also the Lemon Grass, Thai food, top quality. Panetosto - nice Italian food, not expensive. Went to L'Olivia but thought it was overpriced and not real tapas. What we liked best about Cala Bona however was the cove to the right of the lifeguard on the beach. The water here was clean and there was a lot more sand under the water, not rocks so brilliant for floating around on a lilo and having fun.
Went down to Cala Millor - put it this way my 15 yr old son thought he was in paradise but we thought is was awful. I'm sure the beach is nice but you are packed in like sardines and the sea is also full of people. The resort behind is like the typical holiday makers hell-hole full of bars, cafe's, restaurants and tacky shops and it was really crowded.
Really lovely was Son Severa a small town up behind Cala Bona (€6-7 in the taxis) with a great market on a Friday and lovely cafe's and restaurants in the evening. This is the real Spain, full of Spanish families hanging out in the cafe's with their kids late at night, sipping on beer and chatting. Could be helpful if you have a few Spanish phrases.
Car hire was very reasonable from reception, only €80 for 2 days. We drove around the island taking in Port de Polencia, Luc and Port de Soller. Fantastic scenery, awe inspiring.
Had a brilliant holiday and would definitely recommend to a family who like to do their own thing a bit more as excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Block G top floor.

just back from the bahia azul had a great time just relaxing by the pool.Augustin is a credit to the place always helpful and happy, because this is a small complex it is very laid back and quiet with a good mix of young and mature people all of which were english. This complex is across the road from floriana were the germans stay, only a short walk to the promenade and the many bars. me and my hubby had a good holiday and we hope to be back to cala bona again as we like the resort a lot.the only fault with our studio was that there was a large terrace with it which needed a good jet hosing as the tiles were dirty.
