Just returned from a very pleasurable and relaxing week in hotel Levante and YES -most comments in previous reviews (good and bad) are to some extent true! We had a superior seaview room which though on smallish side compared to other hotels we have stayed in was more than adequate and had a divine view with all day sun and the sound of the sea a few yards below us! What more can you want.? The food was superb always - catering for all tastes, so if you wanted a british style or continental you could choose and be happy! We were there for 11 nights and had a gala evening three of those! Much of the evening meal was freshly cooked on the spot for you every night so you didn't have to eat from the hot buffet unless you chose to - and the crepes were to die for! Also you could order a bottle of wine one evening and if you were not in mood to polish it all off that night they would resere it till the following for you so you are able to always have wine with your meal should you so wish without feeling you've been wasteful. The eggs at breakfast - omellettes, poahed or fried were cooked freshly for each individual too , and the staff supremely helpful and cheerful always. 4 of the days we were there the staff did show cooking lunch time so if you were in the hotel and wished to participate (we didn't every day) there was a free lunch provided in pleasant outside surroundings with free wine too!

Our room was cleaned daily -meticulously so - and our pool towels changed almost daily also, so no complaints about housekeeping.

Yes ... the decor is rather outdated but it is a 1960s build and so was probably 'top of the range' then. Yes, the clientel tend to the older age range - tho there were a few young ones including a young honeymoon couple staying but this is probably because it is a hotel for over 16's only, the time of year made most people in resort elderly any way -grans allowed away after holiday babysitting! - other people we talked too from other hotels said the residents in their hotels were elderly too so....

And YES there are mobility aids and vehicles very much in evidence but this is clearly because the whole resort areas -Cala Bona and Cala Millor - are FLAT so that people with mobility restrictions are able TO ENJOY THEMSELVES!! As very mobile, active and young at heart 64 yr olds my husband and i have no prtoblem with this ...we simply thank god that we are still able to get around unaided and that , if in the future we are no longer able to do so, we know where we will be able go on holiday and still have a good time. To those who feel these people spoiled their holiday we say we hope you do not find yourself in a similar position in future and please accept that a disability of body doesn't mean you have no right to a holiday!

As for critiscms of the Thompson entertainmenrt team = yes the program is annoying in day time but the hotel does have a quiet roof top sun terrace which we used regularly, tho our balcony was lovely too - and there are plenty of places to visit too. Evening shows were on the whole pretty good qnd much appreciated judging by the numbers watching them . A holiday is what YOU make of it surely and unless you are paying to stay in very expensive ' hideaways' there will always be good and bad points about the place! So we feel the Levante is good for the type of holiday it advertises and we say thank you to the lovely staff for all their hard work!

stayed for 7 nights last week september at the levante the weather was lovely sunshine nearly every day the resort its self was quite busy cala bona leads into callamillor loads of resturants and bars as you walk from oneto the other there was a local bus service just a short stroll away from hotel wich took you to other resorts along the coast.the hotel its self i would rate 3 star the bed rooms looked a bit dated but we payed extra for a superior room .the meals experince breakfast full english was nearly always cold there where other options aswell tabels for 2 all cramped up together not much room but the meals at night where better gala nights being the best the food at the hotel beach bar was good value wich you pay for the bar staff are good and freindly a few smiley faces in the dining room staff would help .the hotel is geared up for the retired with it being a flat resort entertainment bingo every night you could win upto 400 euros some nights followed by a resident duo singing and usually a live act the hotel is not our cup of tea but im sure its some ones else

After reading reviews before we left the U.K we arrived at Hotel Levante with some trepidation!
Our worries however were unfounded, this hotel was brilliant for our needs.
Yes, some hardened sun-worshippers were up at the crack of dawn to bag the best place to grill in what was a hot sun but that didn't wor
ry us because we went to see Majorca & all it has to offer. There was a little queuing before dinner but nothing to complain about & the choice of dishes was amazing ! The Levante is situated in a quieter & better spot than many located further towards the more bustling Cala Millor. Evening entertainment was excellent too, "These Beatles" are very good, the in-house duo are good also. All in all we had an excellent holiday & can thoroughly recommend the Hotel Levante.

This hotel prompted me to write my first review on this site ill try to keep this short and to the point

Ok first the good :

The hotel is nice and clean as are the rooms.
Cala Bona is a nice quiet resort and the hotels location is great, right on the beach and within walking distance of the local restaurants and bars.
The food was of decent standard and they did british food pretty well.

Now the bad:

If you are below the age of 50 you will feel very young in this hotel, as this is a gold hotel with no kids allowed it has been taken over by the elderly. Many of which were incredibly ignorant when it came to queing for food, it was a free for all with people pushing in left right and centre.
We are a couple aged around 30 and we felt like teenagers, and we were made to feel like that as well, one woman even asked what we were doing at the hotel as we were to young. There is a lot of snobbery here especially towards the young.
We only saw two other couples of our age group, they looked equally as horrified at the average age of other guests.

The beds are very hard and the pillows are lumpy.

Please AVOID the rooms that do not face the sea and are on the main road. the hotel across the road has the most ridiculously loud music on every night until around or after midnight. You will not be able to get an early night here under any circumstance.
We had to kick up a right fuss to get moved. The sea view rooms are booked up by the regulars, but if you get the chance take one.

The entertainment is obviously aimed towards the elderley, every act was lame to be honest but the older people enjoyed them, i didnt think anyone still wanted to see Rod Stewert any more? The comedian was the same as well, all his jokes were about getting old, cant remember what other acts they had because they were even more lame than these two acts.

The sunbeds, didnt have too bad an experience with these, indeed people do get up early and reserve them even though the hotel have signs up saying not to do it. We got up around 7:30 and managed to get a couple of loungers every day. Can see why people get annoyed though, if you stay at a hotel there should be enough for everyone.

The daytime activities include, french bowls and sunbed stretches, daily quiz, bingo. Again all aimed at the elderly, and the speaker they bring out to announce these activities is stupidly loud and theres no afternoon sleep to be had when they are on!

The food, although it was ok was a bit repetitive, not a great deal of change from day to day. We ate out a couple of times due to this.

All in all this hotel would scrape a 3* in the uk but it would be nice for them to change the beds and pillows to a nicer standard. The rooms on the main road should come with a warning about late night music, its not fair for them to offer them after people have spent all that money for their holiday.
If you dont mind late music, old people everywhere, lame acts and repetitive food then this is the place for you.

On entering hotel quite impressive and clean. Staff seemed very efficient. When we were given our room (611) it started our disappointment. It was so small it was a problem with two of us moving about. My wife had to sit on the end of the bed to make up in the dressing table mirror and then I could not get from one side of the room to the other unless I climbed over the bed. Our booking confirmation stated a room with 3 beds! Thank goodness there was not the third bed in this room. The views from the balcony were great though, but again it was so small I felt if I moved around too quickly I would fall over the edge. On the hotel plan it looked as if all rooms ending with either *11 or *10 would be as small as the above - so be aware. The pool area was very small with crowded sunbeds, if you were lucky enough to get one. (have to be up really early with your towel). The adjoining beach charged 10 euro for 2 beds + shade. The food was very good with a good choice UNLESS you were a vegetarian as my wife is. When we enquired if a suitable vegetarian choice could be made available we were told that jacket potato and omlette were already available and pasta could be a possibility - hardly a good vegetarian diet! Apparently we were told the chef was not able to provide anything else. The entertainment was a little second rate but the resident duo were good. Beware the group "The Beatles" - very poor, suggest that you go out elsswhere if they are on. Having said all this the hotel was very clean and the staff very efficient and friendly which made up for some of our disappointments.

all the reviews have said there is a problem with sun beds, and its true, we were on the 3rd floor with sea view, and were woken at 5am every morning to the sound of dragging sunbeds, umbrella's and tables, this hotel will always have this problem, whilst the levante park and the la luna hotel share the pool. you can use the beach at a cost of 10 euro a day , but you have paid the same amount for your holiday as everyone else why have this added expense.one day we were accused of pinching someone else's towels and beds, saw them later 3 rows back, they must of had a senior moment, read your brochure, you will only get a kettle if you book a superior room. the food was very good, but unlike other golds we have never had to queue up to go into the restaurant before, you do not get shown to a table either at dinner, which at times found embarrassing. the rooms are on the small side, we stubbed our toes a lot on the spare bed, but we found plenty of storage space. the bathroom was a good size with a very good shower, we never watch the entertainment so can't comment. the most important issue is that the hotel was very clean and well maintained.

We have just returned from two weeks at this hotel . We would like to just comment on a couple of downfalls . The pool sun beds and shades !! People where getting up at 5 and 6am to get these beds. I did not go on holiday to get up at this time so we went on the ajoining beach , which cost us 10.50 euros a day . There is no tea and coffee facilities which is a shame as the older traveller likes a kettle in their room . We luckily took one as we read on this site that they did not provide one . The toiletries where not replaced after the first time of using them , so I advise you to take shampoo, shower gels etc . They do provide beach towels though . The evening entertainment was very good . The food choice was super but for me it could of been warmer .
