Having visited Cala Bona for many years, the locals have always indicated come in September, so we decided on the advice of those in the know, took the plunge to attend during Tourist week.
So do we book a package or late deals, neither suited our requirements for days or flight times so decided a do it yourself method may be fun.
Checked the Monarch website for flights from Manchester to Palma found good flight times and also pricing, next step was to book a Hotel, again having visited many of the Cala Bona Landmark Hotels, thought we would give the Hotel Sur the benefit of our custom, A one star hotel offering value for money, we knew at the time of booking no tv and no air conditioning so no suprises when you get there.
On arrival we both were greeted at reception and proceeded to check in, I enquired about car parking faciity, and agreed with the reception that the best place to park was a car park to the rear of the hotel on the rodway served by the Public Bus, so off I went to park the car, on returning the wife had been shown to her room complete with the cases.
Nice room overlooking the pool. A good start.
Helpful staff, clean and tidy bedrooms also the lift and dining room, the quality of the food could not be criticised by ouselves and there was a choice each time we arrived to take breakfast or the evening meal in the spacious dining room from the self service area. During our stay a Gala Dinner was laid on, excellent food, well presented with a glass of cava to start, well done Hotel Sur.
All in all a very nice experience from a one star hotel which offered that little bit extra, which is not found in corporate establishments, total customer satisfaction, a good point which makes the diffierence to your stay. So as we did not pay 3 or 4 star prices for the accomodation but experienced a friendly place to stay, which was clean with good food.
I am confident the owners will continue building on the customer satisfaction and investing in facility upgrades.
