This was how first time to this hotel and we were very pleased with our choice it was small friendly and excellent staff throughout. Natalie the entertainment manager was great at her job and always smiling considering she was there morning, noon and night!!!!! The hotel is in a great location you can walk to the harbour in Cala Bona or along the seafront to Cala Millor where you can get the Glass Bottom Catamaran for trips around the island. We took the Sea Adventure trip to Porto Cristo for 20 euros each return. It was well worth it you are taken to all the small caves on route which are outstanding and then dropped off at Porto Cristo for about 2 hours. There isn't much to do there but there are a few shops and plenty of bars and restaurants. It is a pleasant walk to the harbour where you will find plenty of bars and restaurants to sit outside.
We had a room on the first floor overlooking the gardens pool and seaview which was ok. After reading other reviews before we left I was expecting a very small room so was surprised when we got there, it was bigger than I expected. The maid was very good she cleaned room and changed our towels everyday. There are no tea making facilities in the room. We hired a fridge which cost 3 euro per day or 20 euros for a week. It was well worth it to keep milk, water, wine and beers in to have on your balcony before your evening meal or lunchtime. There is a Spar 5 mins outside the hotel to the right with Eileen and Pedro who are very helpful they will even open your wine if you forget your corkscrew!!!! We didn't buy lunch there but they are well known for lovely baquettes freshly made to order and you are allowed to eat them round the pool area.
Also 5 litres of water was only 1.10 euro.
The hotel was extremely clean throughout and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bar is open until 1am even though the entertainment stops at 11-11.30 pm. I would say it caters more for the over 60s, although there were a few younger couples there.
Breakfast is 8-10am and Evening meal 7-9pm. Gentlemen must wear long trousers in the evening meal. Breakfast was good but evening meal could be improved.
We were there 12-19 oct. the weather was really good it was cloudy a few mornings but no rain at all. We had no problems getting sunbeds there were always plenty of empty ones all times of the day. There is a back door in the pool area which leads you to the sea front. Go left to Cala Bona and right to Cala Millor.
You can go into most hotels in the evening to see what entertainment is going on. We went to the Cala Bona Hotel by the harbour to see the Jersey Boys which were very good and had a great evening, got back at 1.30am.
There is also the Waterfront Bar on the left as you walk to the harbour they do lunchtime special which is a toastie sandwich, chips and salad for 4 euros. which was great. Also Smithys bar down on the harbour was nice to sit outside in the evening with a nice cocktail or wine.
The only thing I would change if I returned was to go earlier in the month has bars etc. were getting ready to close for the season and the entertainment in the hotel was finishing on the 22nd Oct.
There were a lot of returning guests but they were all very friendly I am pleased to say.
If you are thinking of going here, book it and ENJOY!!! You won't regret it.
If you go out the back door and walk to the seafront there is a cocktail bar on the left called cocktail palace it is a great place to eat and drink the atmosphere and staff are absolutely brilliant.
