Visited this hotel twice now excellent value for money and it is so nice to stay in a family run hotel where you see the owner round the hotel daily and who is very approachable, also his nephew is the bar manager. All the staff are very friendly and will always try and resolve any problem either small or large. The hotel is in a excellent position overlooking the harbour and is great for walking and cycling from.

Room Tip: If you stay in the reception block you may be lucky to pick up the wifi otherwise you only get it in...

Been to this hotel a few times it is excellent position for walking, swimming, overall a successful holiday. You can walk to calor millor, as coma, it is so flat for walking,or you can hire a bicycle and ride for miles. If you go the last week of September it is fiesta week when a lot going on good entertainment . The staff at the hotel are so friendly nothing is to much trouble, right from the top man done to the cleaners, always a smile.

Room Tip: We were in the annex which is a short walk to the main hotel. We did ask for this as we had been the...

Just returned from our first stay at this hotel. Must say in general we were presently surprised by what it had to offer. Staff very warm and welcoming.Nice location fronted by small harbour and local bars and restaurants. We have stayed for a number of years at a Thomson Gold 4 Star in Cala Egos, Cala Dor which is considerably more expensive. We booked a standard room the beds we found very hard and uncomfortable. We were located in the main block in a side street housing the reception. The balcony and our room was overlooked by rooms in the adjoining block housing the bar. NO NET CURTAINS FITTED!!!!!! to afford basic privacy. FRIDGE AND HAIRDRYER at Additional Costs. My wife purchased a Hairdryer for 12 Euro's instead of hiring one for 11 Euro's for the week. Safe Hire 15 Euros for the week with 3 Euro's repaid upon return of key. Door Lock operated by magnetic card for which we two were supplied. One was used to operate the Air Con which will not operate with the Balcony Door Open, which the maid rather annoying left open each day after servicing our room. Although the Air Con in the room had a temperature dial it seems that this is was being overridden by Reception Computer as our room temperature never went below a certain level and was always warm. Room very clean but lacked adequate draw space, only two bedside draws and two smaller ones fitted to dresser. Bathroom on the dark side and would benefit from the addition of a flexi Shaving Mirror. Large Swimming Pool sunbathed a few of times but this was spoilt by Loud Repetitive music coming from the Bar!!!. Lovely spacious restaurant food quality was good with a couple of choices each night. Good Entertainment far better than the nearby 4 Star Thomson Gold Hotels and Cala Egos who seem to have adopted the use of a local agent and use their own in house acts/teams rather than featured acts. Will be looking to return if prices remain competitive!!

Room Tip: If you book a harbour view be advised that this could become very noisy at night.

Just returned from our 2nd visit this year to the Cala Bona. We were made very welcome, as we were the 1st time. Several people have said that returning customers get better treatment, but I didn`t think we were treated any better than we were last time. Everyone is treated well as far as I could see, even the most difficult customers( & I saw a few of those!!) But it was nice to be remembered by so many of the staff. Even though it was the end of the season the service was just as good as our last visit at the begining of the season. Looking forward to going back again, but unfortunately it won`t be for a while due to our son`s wedding in Mexico next year!
Thanks to everyone there from Sebastion in the dining room, to Marcos the handyman. You are all amazing!!

Room Tip: Book a sea view

We have yet again enjoyed an excellent holiday at this hotel. We have been visiting at the end of September for quite a while now, and have noted each year that the hotel seems to be continually evolving, but nothing seems to change...the little changes we have noted are always to enhance the wellbeing of the Hotel's guests. There are, many guests who have been visiting for many years (as have we) and have formed relationships with other guests and Staff which is heart warming to experience.. The Staff are all very hard working, and ensure that the guests are very well looked after with courtesy and respect. The rooms are maintained daily to a very high standard of cleanliness; and nothing is too much trouble in sorting any problems experienced by the guests. The Hotel consists of a number of annexes; all easily accessible to the main building. The food served is to a high standard, and is much varied... The entertainment nightly( after the popular Bingo sessions) is very good indeed ; and Fiesta week at the end of September is a week where the Island's Culture is formally celebrated and is an experience to enjoy. During this period, a number of events are promoted by the Hotel...The Tapas served daily at the Bar, along with the Paella cooked live; and served to the guests are something to savour and enjoy. The Hotel also promotes a Fancy dress evening which encourages guests to participate, and is also shared by the Bar staff in all manner of garb (all very much in a spirit of fun)..At the end of this Gala week; the hotel serves a formal Gala Dinner where the culinary choice is mind boggling and the various tastes to be enjoyed is a testament to Paco and his team of experienced Chefs' hard work. Other towns are easily accessible from the Hotel; Coach, taxis and Boats visit most local towns on a frequent basis; and there are many excellent Golf courses locally. AS WE HAVE NOTED IN PREVIOUS REVIEWS...IF YOU DON'T ENJOY AT THIS HOTEL...YOU WON'T ENJOY ANYWHERE!!!!

No kids club when we were there, great. The hotel is more geared up for the middle aged+ traveller. Food was self serve and a regular carvery was available. Some of the food was quite cool so a microwave was available should you wish to heat it up a bit more. The entertainment was very good but you need to get in the bar early to secure your seat. Seating was available outside the bar so that you could get a limited view and hear the performance. Most of the outside seating was taken by people from other hotels. Safe deposit boxes were cheap to higher but all of the drinks in the hotel were expensive. Location is on the harbour and the rooms are in 5 different blocks so be prepared for a short walk to the restaurant each day. Have a shower early afternoon as later on the water would be cold once the other guests had used all the hot water. The rooms are based on their standard. We had a basic room but it was very clean and tidy. Beds a little uncomfortable. There are some special offers available if you book direct with the hotel. The pool area is on the roof of the hotel and was very pleasant. The service and friendliness of the staff was exceptional. Although a couple of people were not that impressed with the hotel the majority were returning guests who use it year after year. We are going to use this hotel in the future as we had a great time there and the location was perfect. Everything we wanted in a holiday was found here.

Room Tip: Look on the hotels web site and choose a room facing the sea with a few extras such as a King size b...

Once again, we were made to feel like visiting royalty. Nothing is ever too much trouble for this hotel.
Spotlessly clean as always, views from the balcony spectacular - especially the sunrise.
The only place I have ever stayed, where there is a sea view from the shower.
Only problem is that it is now getting so popular that "us regulars" are having trouble getting in when we want too, but would rather change holiday dates than change hotel.
The food in the dining room is plentiful and varied, especially Ali who does the Show Cooking -
We are already booked for May and October for the next two years.

Room Tip: It is always worth paying the extra to get a room with a sea view - simply stunning
