“Got everything you want”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2011

Me & my husband have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Moreyo. I had previously read the reviews so knew what to expect, i.e no aircon & no lift. The room was fine considering how long you spent in it! It was clean, good shower adequate space for the two of us. We stayed round the pool a few days & always got a sunbed. The staff always appeared helpful and i have no gripes with anything really apart from the breakfast was awful. The bread was stale, the cooked breakfast was swimming in grease and there was nothing really i wanted to eat. We stuck this for 2 days & then ventued to 'Melis' who did a very nice cooked breakfast. All in all hotel was fine & would recommend. I think people on her complain too much about it. It is only a 1* hotel at the end of the day. If people want a little more luxury should book somewhere else.

Room Tip: probably a pool view as a little quiter at night

Lovely situated everything we needed, extremly clean, good breakfast, we have often stayed at traveloges for cheapness ad flexibility, we payed the same as one but with breakfast, dinner, and a lovely small pool thrown in, what more could you ask? we ate in twiuce and it was perfectly ok especially if you are on a tight budget, but there were so many lovely restaurants nearby especialy round the harbour/marina eating out can be as cheap or expensive as you like £50 got us a nice meal with wine from one of the more upmarket restaurants, wouldn't hesitate to go back don't be put off by the 1 STAR.

Room Tip: The quieter rooms are over the pool.

We got this hotel room at a rather bargain price and didn't expect much in the way of luxury with it being a 1* but we were very optimistic after reading some previous reviews of it. I think our main gripe was with a few of the staff....mainly the 2 elder barmen who were just pig ignorant....and we got overcharged for 2 glasses of wine early on in our stay so we started to drink at the Pebar Hostal directly opposite and the staff there were much friendlier and the drinks were cheaper! Caroleena (manageress) and Theodora (chambermaid) were the nicest of the staff by far and couldn't do enough to help you if needed.
On my first day there I went to use the toilet near the pool area and slipped up on a flooded floor due to people coming to use the toilets from the pool area.. Anti-slip matting should really be used in an area such as this and a warning sign should have been displayed telling of the danger of wet floor. In my opinion it should also have been mopped up frequently throughout the day to ensure safety especially with little ones running to the toilet. My husband sought out the manager and told him what had happened but his response was a bag of ice and free jug of sangria! After that we only got the occasional "Ola" from him and a look that was definitely not friendly!
We loved the breakfasts especially the scrambled eggs and various sausages. There was a huge amount of food on offer everyday cereals, fruit, rolls, cheese, meats, tomatoes, onions, croissants, muffins and the full English.
Our room was cleaned everyday but we only had a change of sheets twice in two weeks and we only had a towel change twice a week although I have noticed that other reviewers had better service than this. The room was adequate and we were lucky to have a balcony view over the pool area on the 1st floor. However there is no fridge in the room so we were constantly making trips to the supermarkets over the road for bottled water. A fridge could of been hired at a cost of €40 per week....be cheaper to have bought one!! My husband is an early riser so had to go and get a cup of tea at the Hotel Pebar across the road as he was refused it in Moreyo. We had a shuttle pick up at 5.45am yesterday and again we were refused a cup of tea so the soonest we were able to have one was in the departure lounge at Palma airport at 11am!!
Ok you get what you pay for and this was a bargain price but a few more smiles and a cuppa would have gotten them a more positive review from us. Would we go back there? Not on your life...we have made friends with a couple who live in Cala Bona and we will stay with them should we return to the resort.

We arrived at the moreyo hotel about 3pm, when we got to our room it was very basic, dark, and very hot. There is no air con, but you can hire a air conditioning unit for 100 euros or so...........which we didnt pay as we were only staying there for 2 nights. There was no tv but yet again you could hire one off the hotel i think it was for about 45 euros.......ridiculous............they even charge parents 25 euros for a baby talk radio. Ridiculous. We were so glad that we were moving on to our appartment in cala millor for 7 nights. On the morning waking up in the moreyo, we couldnt breathe and opening the door on balcony was only letting warm air in....made you feel sick. We dont have kids, but for people who do I wouldnt recommend staying there or for elderly people. The only thing that did look nice was the swimming pool, food looked awful, especially the bacon and eggs looked they had been well over done and warmed up. We had our breakfast at the argos bar, which is english ran and was gorgeous for 5 euros and you get a proper mug of tea. Owners were great there and very friendly.
But as for the moreyo.......you definilty get what you pay for and thats 'nothing'
Oh and by the way there in no lift in the hotel ..............need i say more

Room Tip: Out the back looking at swimming pool, much quieter

Although we had 3 days sunshine out of our 7 day stay and the coach taking us back to the airport broke down, the Moreyo was fine. The decor was a bit dated and our room was in need of some maintenance but generally the hotel was kept clean and the staff were always friendly towards us and willing to help. They even made us a sandwich pack to replace our breakfast when our coach picked us up early. We didn't really have a problem getting a sun bed (due to the cloudy weather) and also due to the sun not being on the pool until about 10.00am. We noticed people putting their towels out at about 8.00am. We also took our own travel kettle for hot drinks and a mini fan, which kept us cool.

We were happy with the half board food. The breakfast was the same each morning, cornflakes (not kellogs though and you could tell), coco pops, ham and cheese, bacon, sausage, egg and beans, toast and a muffin. The evening salad bar and desserts were near enough the same every day and tasted fine. There was usually a choice between two mains and these changed every day.

We chose Mallorca as it was a quick flight and we thought we were guaranteed sun. I am not sure whether this cloudy week was a one off for this area and time of year but each day we looked at a forecast for Palma and it always said hot and sunny!!

Room Tip: We asked for a pool view room when we booked with travel republic and we got one.
