“Worth every penny! :)”
Reviewed 4 October 2013

Me and my partner stayed here for 9 nights and after reading some reviews were worrying how it was going to turn out, when we arrived we were so happy with the outcome! I'm 19 and my partner is 20 and we stayed self catering as we wanted to get out and about to see what there was around in the area!

Rooms: We stayed in room 221 on the second floor, majority of rooms over look the pools and from our room we could see the sea! It was very spacious, comfy and reasonably equipped. Had a nice balcony area and overall nothing to complain about!

Food: I can't comment on the quality of food as we never ate at the hotel as we were self catering, but it looked nice and fresh with plenty of choice. Some of the others we got speaking to said that they had nothing bad to say about the food.

Staff: Hard working team. Always there to help if needed, room keeping always kept rooms clean and towels and bedding was changed almost every day, spoke good enough English to be able to communicate and help with all queries.

Facilities: On the ground floor there is a gym, sauna, indoor pool with a built in jacuzzi and a massage room for various treatments, These can all be used at certain times which is clearly stated. There's free wifi which was great to stay in contact with everyone back home! The outdoor pools were big and clean, cold but nice when your very hot.. There is a separate shallow pool for children. Plenty of sun loungers with tables and chairs to sit down.

Entertainment: It wasn't brilliant but there was flamenco dancers, a dj, singer and keyboard player and children entertainment. The children's stuff seemed mostly German but they all seemed to be having a good time with no problems. If you wanted to go out in the evening to see different stuff there is plenty of different bars, hotels and restaurants with good entertainment. We saw a brilliant Michael Jackson tribute at hotel Atalon.

Overall it was a brilliant holiday with no issues, very clean hotel and surrounding area. The weather was lovely and the beaches were great! We met some lovely people who we've kept in contact with. Sonnys bar is lovely, great food+drink, run by even better people. The glass bottom boat is also recommended takes you to some brilliant places and we also recommend 'buggy 4 fun' in cala millor, saw some beautiful places with a great group of people.. Would most defiantly go again worth every penny! The population of people are mostly older couples but we wasn't put off by this as we wanted a quiet relaxing holiday which wasn't to be ruined by drunken hen and stag do's! If you want that type of holiday magaluf is the place for you.

We arrived on the 16th September 13 for 9 nights and for the price we payed it was worth every penny, have nothing bad to say! Would defiantly go back, maybe try a different hotel as a change of scenery but millor garden was a lovely place to be and would stay there again :)

We stayed from Saturday 14 September to Friday 20th September. The resort of cala bona is really lovely to stay in, the beaches and sea are really nice and clean.

The apartment millor gardens are a great place to stay, we stayed all inclusive and this was fantastic as we didnt have to take money around with us.

The apartments were very clean, there are three swimming pools two outside and one in doors and they were lovely to swim in.

The food was really nice and there were many dishes to choose from to suit everyone.

When we arrived as we were all inclusive we had a welcome pack made up in our rooms that we thought was really thoughtful as we were thirsty and hungry at four in the morning after taking a long time to travel.

There were plenty of drinks to consume and the bar was open from ten in the morning to eleven at night.

The hotel staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming and even though they worked long hours they always had a smile on their faces, especially Manuel who made you feel welcome.

The only criticism I had were the beds were uncomfortable , but this seemed just to be ours as we made friends who said theirs were fine. The other thing the hotel needs is a decent toaster one that is quicker and works efficiently.

When we left out rooms, as we had late check out we used the communal shower rooms to get ready for our journey home, these were very plush.

I would recommend miller garden apartments and we would certainly go again , making sure we went all inclusive.

Our first experience of All Inclusive. Was hoping to give 3.5 stars, but TripAdvisor only allow 3 or 4, so I am leaning towards 3. Though I would share some points for people considering hotel:-

1.5 hours from Palma on connection bus (might be quicker with direct transfer).
Hotel is greared mainly towards German tourists - but staff do understand English (far better than I understand Spanish, that's for sure).

A small improvement would be an English language fact sheet when you arrive - i.e. eating times, all inclusive drinks and times, bus/taxi info, entertainment dates and times. Most posters offering this info in reception were only in German. Felt a bit confused on first couple of days, but we managed.

Food is mainly aimed at German tastes - lots of unrecognisable meats and gelatinous moulds - Just try and not look at them in the morning!! ;-) Breakfast - there was always bacon, beans and eggs (boiled + either fried or scrambled) - but I always avoided the sausages! Lunch there were always chips, pasta, salads and soup on and Dinner again always supplied chips, meats, paellas, salads. As you can see - there is always something there to fill you up - canteen style - but does get a bit repetitive. Note to hotel: Not ideal for vegetarian as dishes were not labelled. We ate out 4 out of 7 nights - but we still feel we got value for money for our All Inclusive as a couple - drank plenty of beer (San Miguel), coffees, wine, vodka + mixers (huge measures). I would imagine families would get even better value.

Beer is served in small plastic cups - bit this is ideal to stop beer getting warm and flat! Just get two if you are thirsty.

The hotel is generally well look after - rooms cleaned and towels changed most days. Great shower. Taps and metal fittings looked a bit dated and dirty - but I imagine that's due to the water over there and the climate - must be hard to keep clean - nothing to cry about! Rooms are spacious, but cooking facilities limited - although extras can be hired. Our Room - 315 has a partial view of the pool which is a shame - great big palm tree reduced sunlight and view by about 3/4. I would suggest the hotel get rid. Rooms below and above would have suffered same fate - all other rooms appear to have a great sunny balcony with pool view. Free Air Con which is a bonus.

Staff are generally quiet and keep out your way - not in your face like some places, which I prefer. Always happy to answer any questions you have - bar staff usually very attentive. Manuel is not to be messed with!! Not glass and shop bought drink at the pool!! Which is fair enough. Nice guy who runs a tight ship!

Note: Hotel only has 1 iron and ironing board to share between all residents. Take a travel iron if you need to. Don't waste luggage weight with beach towels - they can be hired (€20 for 2 refunded when returned).

Cala Bona is lovely - go out towards taxi trank and take a left as you are looking at sea - lovely harbour and street entertainment - quite high class area - no bars etc, just restaurants - Definitely try Paparazzi italian restaurant - best Italian we have tasted - great house wine, free olives, pasta and pizza to die for.

Take a right at the taxi rank and you head out of Cala Bona towards Cala Millor - nice walk to some bars and restaurants, but a definite drop in class from Cala Bona harbour. Watch out for cycle path! Takes some getting used to.

Right outside hotel is a bus stop that takes you to Porto Cristo (Caves of Drach €1.85 rtn). Just be prepared for madness trying to get bus back to Cala Bona. We ended up sharing a taxi with another couple (€15 split 4 ways - not too bad).

All in all I would rate this holiday as 3.5/5 - perfect for a quiet break, decent value for money, more German than English (not a bad thing for some people!). If you are looking for a rowdy stag-do, hen-do type holiday - this is not the destination for you.

Room Tip: Avoid 315 (215, 415 too?) Palm tree spoils the balcony - blocks out sun and you only get a brief vie...

I stayed as part of a group of 6 including my mum and dad (49 and 54), myself and my partner (24 and 29) and our 2 year old daughter.

I found the 9 night stay to be a little long due to the lack of entertainment, however it isn't completely absent. There were flamenco dancers, a singing duo, 'DJ Chris', and a childrens mini disco every other night. There was also a supposed Abba show but this didn't materialise so I cannot comment on the quality.

The childrens entertainment is mostly german, but they have a room with games, puzzles and colouring which you are welcome to accompany your child to. This is due to the entertainer (Miriam/Clowny de Musika) only knowing a little English and not feeling comfortable being responsible for small children that don't understand her!

The food is edible - not a huge choice compared to other all inclusives I have been on - but there was a large fresh fruit and desert section which was very tasty. The BBQ area was also very nice! But please please check the food before you eat it - there was some pieces of chicken that were almost raw! Don't let it put you off but be careful.

The area was lovely and the sea down at Cala Millor was beautiful. I would reccommend both the road train for 4 euros 50 return per adult - bambinos were free, and the road bikes - both very enjoyable for little money.

All in all I probably wouldn't return - but for the money and our situation it suited all our party and we had a good time.

Our first experience of All-Inclusive & overall very impressed with the package in terms of value for money & holiday experience

Rooms - majority overlook the pool; we had room 325 which was at the very end of the 3rd floor which had a partial sea-view looking down Magnolia Avenue & was very comfortable, reasonably equipped & spacious but was close to the hotel main entrance so encountered some traffic noise & night-time coach activity which was a little disturbing. 225 & 224 below us, instead of a balcony had large private terraces if you would prefer this to a balcony (tip) Also recommend 4th floor for unobstructed views of the pool etc. If we travelled again I would request middle of 4th floor or 224/225 or similar

Food - Fabulous range & on the whole tasty & good quality; Breakfast - some English items, several German/Continental items, Fruit, Yoghurts, Hot drinks from a machine, large variety of breads & pastries etc.. Lunch - Large variety of options for main courses, desserts & drinks (BBQ options also most days) Dinner - Equally large variety of options catering for British, German & Spanish tastes. (BBQ options every day except during wet weather) Between meals; unlimited ice-creams, soft drinks, hot drinks, non-branded spirits, beer (San Miguel), sandwiches, biscuits & some pastry items. All inclusive cut-off is 11pm. Visits to the bar are limited only by 2 drinks / visit. (Visits are unlimited)

Staff - Great, hard-working team behind the bar, in the restaurant & the house-keeping staff with some fun characters to keep you amused. Manuel is totally OK; Issac is great fun & the others are very friendly & helpful. Be respectful & gracious (Use pleases & thank yous, por favors & gracias & refrain from just requesting 'Ein Bier') and during quiet periods the staff can happily be chatted with. (They are often very busy & can on occasions seem a little dismissive - be understanding that they are overly busy at times)

Facilities - Gym, sauna, steam room & spa pool is open during certain times which is clearly advertised. Free Wifi is a relatively slow service but will be sufficient for most people.
Pool Area - Sunbeds are an issue but are comfortable. There are enough to fill the available terrace space but most are illegally reserved during the day with towels. There is a separate shallow children's pool & a main pool which is 2m deep in the middle section but 1.4m (I think) at the edges & there is an area for diving/jumping in (by the showers)

Entertainment - Not great but we had lady flamenco dancers, a singer/keyboard player & a disco each week. OK but we were perfectly happy chatting most nights with fellow guests. Kids entertainment is German orientated which is a little disappointing but didn't affect our teenagers.

Cleanliness - We had no issues & found the hotel, pool, attractive gardens & surrounding streets very clean & well maintained & litter free. As in previous reviews, some of the younger guests were the main source of litter around the pool seating area with discarded plastic cups etc. (There are enough bins for proper disposal & the parents should encourage a respect for keeping this area tidy)

Overall, great value & fun holiday made all the more better by the families we met, the heat & sun we experienced (18/08 - 01/09/13), local sandy beaches (Cala Bona & Millor) fabulous catering & lovely staff

We would definitely consider a return visit on a good deal (We booked with Hays Travel on this occasion)

Ok, we just got back yesterday so with everything fresh in my mind, I thought I would give an honest review. Checked in with no problems but the bathroom smelt of sewerage, this was dealt with within the hour although the problem did return again at the end of the 10 days. The apartments are large, slightly dated decor but more than satisfactory. The balconies have high walls so are entirely private though not much sun on ours. The self catering equipment is basic but this is always the case and we were half board so not a problem. The hotel is kept clean, the pool was immaculate and there were more than enough sunbeds but the Germans putting their towels out despite the warnings not to does cause a problem, solution, wait an hour and throw the towels off!! The pools are well placed so you can keep an eye on the kids at all times. The indoor pool was freezing but deathly quiet and has sun beds in it so good for an escape. The sauna was open at night and the gym is open all hours, you need to ask reception for the keys. The food is amazing. There is a full array of everything at dinner time and the dishes were lovely, particuarly the hot plate, cooked fresh outside. I cannot see how anyone can fault the food. The breakfasts are not quite as good but still plenty, another toaster wouldnt go amiss but really, the food is fit for a 4 star. The waiters were very polite and rushed off their feet.
The hotel is mainly German, this can prove difficult if you go all inclusive as there is no entertainment bar the odd night so if you are in drinking, you are on your own. i knew this before we went courtesy of Trip Advisor so I went half board and we went out every night. Cala Bona has a beach 1 minute down the road, do not bother with this beach, the water is full of seaweed and the sand is brittle. Hit the prom and go right and within 5 minutes you are in Cala Millor and keep walking along (dont dive on the first beach you get to) and the beaches are beautiful. Crystal clear water and you can walk out a long way and the sand is lovely. The beaches are very busy though but worth it as the sea is lovely and warm. Cala Millor is generally the better area but in Cala Bona if you go left when you hit the prom then there is a kids play area with trampolines and bouncy castles etc. If you like your spirits then put the kids on the bouncy castle for 3 euros (its huge and entertains them for hours) and order from the little hut. Each one of his spirits and mixers are 4 euros and you get a quarter bottle in each, 3 of them and I couldnt walk, you cant beat that for 12 euros lol and the kids are fully entertained. The harbour is a bit further down, take a few loaves of bread down and drop the bread in the water, immediately there are swarms of fish fighting for the bread and you draw quite a crowd. The harbour is beautiful as well.
The reception staff were polite and helpful and sorted out our transfers without issue, so am unsure where the negative comments are coming from with them. I found the hotel to be very relaxed with no interference or monitoring from the staff which is what you want really. I would recommend this hotel for the price is you can get the right price. Just be aware there is no entertainment and it is mainly Germans so if you want a social holiday youmight be best to pick elsewhere. All in all Cala Bona is a lovely place but I must admit I am tempted to try Cala Millor next time. Also be aware with the new EU laws, most pubs stop their music at 11:30pm unless they can close their doors so if you are after the night life there isnt really any and unless you are buying all your drinks at the kids play area (fantasy island) then it is 4.5 euros a drink and given the thin glasses you dont get much for your money so it can be expensive.

We went with two adults 48 and 39 with two children 15 and 13. Oh dear there is no day or eve entertainment there was a singer one night but there is no stage area and the seats were cheap white plastic with many people falling off them because they were so cheap v embarrassing. The wi fi for the kids was awful often not available and the boredom at night in the hotel was terrible
