We are just home from a great 2 week stay at the prinsotel alba. We have 4 kids 9,7,6 and 6 months and the kids entertainers were fab with them they didnt want to come home.
The rooms were great with loads of space.
The staff there were helpful and pleasant.
There was loads for everyone to do and the surrounding areas were amazing . We booked up for next year the day after we got home and cant wait to get back.

Second time here, was disappointed not to see last years reps, but after a few days soon forgot about them, Manuel was there from last year and he had a new crewe with him and they were brilliant Ondrej ,Davide and the lovely Tereza all good at what they do. We stayed for 2 weeks half board again , food good but then we ate out a few times the second week as there is so many resturants in and around Cala D'or , you are quite literally spoilt for choice, at the bottom of the complex is a place called Las Palmas we ate here many times and the guys are fantastic, good food resonally priced and excellent service from Pedro and family. Also in the main town there is various culinery food outlets to everyones taste so dont worry about there not being anything that you like. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained by the staff , rooms allways being cleaned and the gardens and pool well kept. In the evening kids dances and then the evening entertainment began with the reps doin a show or a professional act from the isalnd comin in and putin a show on ,so all in all a good holiday and i'm even considereing going back next year

Have just come back from a week at the Alba in Cala Dor, Majorca. We had a great time. Location of hotel is perfect - you are not close enough to the noise of the centre but about a 5-10 min walk depending which way you go and to which area. We had an apartment that was across a quiet road from the pool and restaurant but this suited us as i can imagine if you have small children and have a poolside apt then this would be noisy as the entertainment went on uintil about midnight. We were pleased with the childrens entertainment - even though they didn't go to the kids club through the day there seemed fun things to do. They did enjoy the mini disco at night and then the show after. (Children are 6 and 4). We booked self catering and even though the rooms were spacious and clean we couldnt have done much cooking. the cooking area is very basic, 2 rings and a sink - if you like to eat in and sit on a nice balcony then this is not for you. We enjoyed going out every night and trying the different restaurants in the main part of Cala Dor. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant which was plentiful and varied. 28 euro for the four of us. It was roughly this price when we ate breakfast out elsewhere.
Pool area was good, activities in and around organised. Although the lounger dash in the morning became quite a challenge. People would reserve loungers the minute they were released and then not use them til about eleven - or even go to the beach and have them for when they came back. You have to play the system or not be bothered about one, or having one in the shade. Also the pool did at some points become quite boisterous. you can have lilos, balls, dinghys, anything you want basically and at times you had to have your eyes well and truly peeled to avoid the balls being thrown quite hard by teenagers to each other. There was a lifeguard but he was more concerned about topping up his tan half the time.
We split our time between the beach and the pool. The Cala Gran beach which is literally 5 mins away is a lovely beach with clear water but is just so busy. Wall to wall towels. We walked a little further up the hill (15mins) to a smaller beach called Esmerelda. This wasnt as busy but had less facilities. On our second day we took the little blue train around the resort, it lasts an hour and really helps you get your bearings, we wouldn't have found the Esmerelda beach otherwise.
We had a great hol - the kids loved it, we went on the understanding that all we wanted was a beach and pool hol and thats what we did. We would definitely book the Alba again, for location, cleanliness and staff, we have not been any where better.

Please read all of this review!
Have just returned from a two week break at the Prinsotel. We had a fantastic time but mainly for one reason. We managed to get sun loungers at the nine o'clock rush (please read below) and therefore were able to enjoy the fantastic entertainment laid on and delivered by the wonderful students. Both of my boys enjoyed the all of the activities without being hassled to join in - loads of different activities for adults, teens and young ones.
The rooms were clean and roomy but yes I agree with the earlier review the balcony was small. They were cleaned mainly daily
Location was good and if you are preferred to leave the main food area there are some fantactic spanish restaurants (Tipic and Tonny's No.1) run by spanish families providing wonderful food and great service
There are loads and loads of English bars if that's your thing (Soap fixes, Sport, chips and curries!!)
Pool - well now here's a story - I counted approx 170 sun loungers which is the only number that can be accomodated around a very small pool certainly not adequate for 226 appartments (with up to four people) - and at around two every day the pool was just packed ( and I mean packed)
Each night the beds are stacked and chained and at nine oclock the maintenance chaps unchain the beds - and then people surge to get to the beds. Unless you are tall and part of a couple and can leave your children safely in a room you have no chance to bag a bed. You have to be standing next to a stack of beds by 8.30 and have postioned you towels on your patch where you want to sit. At nine o'clock the fun begins and at 09.10 all of the beds have been lifted and shifted into position - it was so disheartening to see young couples come down at 09.10 and not be able to find anybeds for their children and then have to take pushchairs, towels, kids, parasols etc down to the beach, which meant that a large percentage of people missed out on the entertainment which is just not on when hotel promotes (and no doubt builds it into the cost) The beds when distibuted are head to toe close to each other and there is no personal space between each bed - kids had to zigzag between beds and somethimes hopped over sun bathers. One neighbour explained that she was physically shaking when the blokes in pairs surged for the beds and I too used to get anxious about the bed run shouting at my husband to get out of bed. (Not great for a relaxing holdiay) If you were any early riser you manged to get 1 of the 18 parasols (yes eighteen)
For this reason I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone unless you are a beach lover. To leave kids in a room to get a bed or have them at risk of being hit by a flying bed is not on. The local managemnt do what they can on a day to day basis but the Executives need to do something radical as charging and promoting all of these services that can only be provided to a small percentage of their occupants is unfair and therefore based on this I cannot recommend this hotel regardless of how we felt about the holiday
