I have just returned from this resort and would recommend I to anyone from any age range including the adults. I joined the adult activities with jasper. He and the team did an amazing job and included everyone in the activities, they also made everyone feel welcome. The shows were also amazing especially the American street life the whole team put so much effort into it and I would definitely go back to this resort. Look forward to seeing you all next year

We have just returned from the Adult only, Cala Esmeralda, we stayed for a week from the 28/06/14 to the 05/07/14.
The hotel is lovely and clean, and the staff are generally very polite and helpful.
The location overlooks a sandy cove, which is about 60 - 70 meters wide and looks like something out of a film, it's really spectacular. Unfortunately when you come to use it, you soon realise that it's shared with the other hotels in the area, who aren't adult only, we've never seen so many people crammed into such a tiny space, we literally had to step on peoples towels to get to the sea, every available space was taken up with a towel.
There are two route's down from the hotel to the beach, one of which is quite dangerous, as it is quite steep, has no hand holds and is made up of uneven steps. The other is much safer, but still not great.
There are two pools, the one in the hotel is ok, nothing special, the one by the beach bar which overlooks the cove is great, the drawback is, it's very difficult to get a sunbed around it, we managed it once in the whole week, and that was because we got up at the crack of dawn and placed our towels on a bed. The hotel operates a "No Towel on the Bed Policy" it just doesn't enforce it.
The food was a great let down, it was repetitive with out much choice, and they appear to be using the cheapest cuts of meat for their specials, which turned out to be inedible as they were full of gristle, sinew and fat.
We'd have liked a sea view room, but at 140 euros a week extra, it was an expense we couldn't run to.
The drinks were quite pricey, and I was dubious over the amount of alcohol they were putting in the cocktails, it just tasted like very expensive juice.
As for drinking water, in the bars and restaurant, it was ridiculously priced. Also there are no local shops so it's at least a 15 minute trek in either direction for water.

My husband and I were here for a week May 16th to the 23rd, and had a wonderful week, Marilin on the front desk was always so helpful, and gave us tips on where to park when we went to Palma , she also helped us organise our car rental, and got us a topper for our bed, as the mattress was too firm , the topper didnt really improve this unfortunately. The restaurant was absolutely top notch, and so much to choose from for breakfast, and our evening meal, There was a gala dinner one evening and the chefs were all out serving, very impressive food, absolutely something for everyone.our room was cleaned daily unless we didnt want it doing, the rooms are large, with huge wardrobe space, the only negative is they were austere, and would benefit from some soft furnishings, and making them a little more brighter, homely. We would absolutely go back again, the staff help make this hotel, one you want to go back to agin and again, and the view speaks for itself. The 2 pools are a bonus, and well used.Thank you for a memorable holiday.Cala Esmeralda.

Room Tip: All balconies were semi rounded, we thought so more people could actually have a view of Cala Esmeralda, its difficult to know which rooms would have a better view. higher up is better,we were on the East side as we didnt get the sun on the balcony in the afternoon, so worth asking for a west or south facing balcony if you want sun later in the day.

Looking for a Hotel in Cala'dor book Cala Esmarelda you won't be disappointed . From the time you arrive to going home all the staff make you feel so welcome . This couples only hotel has guests of all ages staying a good mix .This year there are all new sun beds and brollys by the pools there are two one by the beach with a cafe bar . Kettles are now in rooms so guests can make there own tea or coffees is a bonus. Food fab to suit all tastes lots of choices I cannot fault it . You will find the hotel manager Miriam who seems to be around from morning to late evening to see the guests are enjoying there stay with no problems , you don't see this very often . The hotel is in a quiet spot but only 10mins from the centre of Cala'dor and the harbour 20 to 25mins away . My husband and myself have just been late June our second time , can't wait to book for next year ..

Room Tip: If you want a cooler room chose sea view

Have just returned from 11 nights at this fantastic hotel. This was our first visit to this hotel and we were not disappointed. The rooms have everything you need and plenty of room. Lovely and clean the maids do a fantastic job, as do all the staff in the hotel. They make your stay really enjoyable, and cant do enough for you. The food is outstanding and plenty of choice. The swimming pool overlooking the cove is fantastic. We will be returning next year and would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the pool. It was quiet and so much sun in the afternoon. It was very quiet at night. We don't go on holiday to spend to much time in the room, but this was perfect for us.
