Lovely, quiet and peaceful adults only hotel. Food magnificent, lots of choice, freshly cooked and every day different variety. Whole hotel exceptionally clean and well maintained, room was lovely and were able to upgrade to a sea-view room which is highly recommended. Lovely location with relaxing pool overlooking the sea. Hotel has a 40minute rule surrounding the sun beds- if towels are used to secure a bed, staff are strict in removing the towels if the owner has not returned after 40 mins. We had no problem finding a sun- bed even though it was high season and very busy. Beach bar had lovely food available all day and great entertainment at night. 10 min walk into Cala d'Or, although the hotels around us were busy with families and children we felt cocooned in a little oasis of relaxation. Staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was enjoyable.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a sea-view room

Lovely adult only hotel with 2 adult only pools. Make sure you opt/upgrade for a seaview room 3rd or 4th floor as views over the bay are amazing, would be disappointed with view from rooms at back of hotel. Rooms average but very clean. Excellent variety/choice of food on half board basis & service in restaurant was great, although a bit slow at Happy Hour in the bar. Just wish hotel had designated smoking areas round pools etc, as we always seemed to be next to smokers, not pleasant. Also guests in next room smoked on their balcony and it came right into our room if we had patio door open from 7 in the morning! Also if we sat on balcony, which we did most evenings it impeded on us. Kettle and fridge in room which was handy, although would have been nice touch to have tea, coffee etc. but just being picky. Always got a sunbed round main pool overlooking bay, if sunbeds had towels on for more than 40 mins with no guests about, towels were removed, a great idea. Pool in hotel ground always had beds available, but it was much hotter to sit there as no sea breeze, far to hot for us.Town only a short stroll away, we found a short cut behind the hotel. This is not a hotel if you want a lively holiday but is best of both worlds with the town being near by for livelier evenings but we were very happy to have a choice. We would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Seaview, 3rd or 4th level is a must to get the views of the bay. So lovely in the evening with a bot...

Room Tip: you need to upgrade to get a seaview

My husband and I stayed 24th -29th Aug the service, food and location was amazing! We will definately return.

Rooms are spotlessly clean typically Spanish not fancy but have everything in them you need.

Food has a huge variety for both breakfast and dinner. At lunch you can have a snack bar by the pool overlooking the
sea serving everything from gambas pil pil to pasta & pesto.

Spent 10 days at this hotel with my husband. The reviews here were a big part of our decision to book but on reflection they don't totally match up to our experience. Previous reviews really focus on staff service, while we have no complaints we didn't experience the overwhelming attention to detail that others note.

The positives
The hotel is really clean, staff seem to clean non stop and our room was always spotless.
There is a happy hour every day (to be honest this is the highlight!)
Good selection of fresh food on offer for breakfast and dinner - though not so great for vegetarians, more on this later!
The pool at the back of the hotel is quite quiet, you'll get a sunbed here

The negatives
It's a bit like a SAGA holiday to be honest! Very quiet due to being adults only, but we have been on adults only holidays before and they offered a lot more by way of entertainment...it's pretty non existent here.
Rooms are basic. While we don't go on holiday to sit in our room, our balcony faced a wall! Avoid room 103 if you can.
The minimum air conditioning temperate is 19 degrees which wasn't cold enough, it's also quite noisy.
Vegetarian food is labelled but it can seem inconsistent - one night a ham salad was labelled as vegetarian which didn't inspire confidence for the rest! There also wasn't much choice in terms of a main meal for veggies and I ate a variation of chips and salad most nights. Cheese, eggs dishes and desserts were not labelled either.
Pool areas are small and the one at the front of the hotel is busy and crowded
You pay extra for Wi-Fi, beach towels and a safe in your room - for a hotel of 4* rating this seemed excessive.

All in all while the hotel served its purpose we wouldn't go back and I wouldn't recommend a stay here unless you want complete peace and quiet.

Room Tip: Odd room numbers face the pool and evens the beach....if you're allocated room 103 reject it imm...

I have reviewed this wonderful hotel before, and thankfully the standards never drop. The whole of the team are so committed to ensuring that your stay with them is everything you could wish for and take it from me they really do care.
The whole of the Hotel and it's facilities are immaculate, the rooms are not lavish but very nice, with all that you require, little extras are there for the customer not for the hotel to charge outrageous prices for, like the fridge, which is completely yours for water and whatever you wish, tea making facilities, (however you will need your own tea etc).
The dining room is beautiful with excellent varied choice for breakfast and dinner, the Gala night on Tuesday is something to behold, the effort and time put in is well worth the results.
Try happy hour in the main bar, 16.30 to 17.30 every day where 2 cocktails cost between 5 and 6 euros, 2 shorts around the same, excellent value and you are attended to by the "fantastic" Anderson and the rest of the bar staff there.
The pool area is open from 9 and there are strictly no reserving of sun beds for any more than 40 minutes, which we found great and very fair, and that view from the pool has to be one of the best you could ever set your eyes on, simply wonderful.
We have stopped in other Hotels in Cala D'or before we found this gem and for me nothing comes close, it's simply the best, away from the hustle and bustle but a pleasant 10 minute walk from the center, Perfection.
Thanks again all at the Cala Esmerelda hotel for another wonderful Holiday.

Room Tip: If you can't afford the beautiful sea view rooms request floor 3 or 4.

Just returned from an amazing 11 days at Inturotel Cala Esmeralda, this is our second visit here and received a complimentary bottle of wine as a thanks for coming back, the hotel, staff and food are excellent.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, quick check in and Reception staff are so pleasant and helpful, as are all the staff.

There are 2 pools, 1 at the hotel and the other across the road next to the snack bar and looing over the cove, this is the one we used, only hotel guests are allowed to use this, anyone not staying in the hotel are politely asked to leave, the hotel supplies pool towels and charge 50c to change them, rooms are basic but have ample hot water, powerful shower, kettle and mugs (bring your own tea or coffee), bottle opener, corkscrew and fridge, meals are buffet style, with amazing food and plenty to choose from there is no way you would go hungry.

The manager is always there with a friendly smile and chat for all the guests

The hotel is in an excellent location overlooking the cove and only a 10 minute walk into Cala d'Or with its many shops and restaurants.

We are glad we found this little bit of heaven, so peaceful and relaxing and already wishing we were back there, seems ages till next year

If you book this hotel you certainly won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room facing the front, this looks over the cove, amazing view
