“Good Location and you pay for what you get.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

I must say first of all, that it was very clean!! I have stayed in 4 star hotels before, and they haven't been as clean as this one!.
The location is fantastic, as I thisn mondrago is one of the best beaches in majorca.
There is a lot to do around there; you can go biking, horse riding, go on cruises and various other trips. Family run business, which is a plus! I think. although is as equally laid back in that sence.
Juan is very helpful and he will direct you in any possible way. This area is very quite at night but you can rent a car( ask Juan about it) and you can visit neighbouring towns like Porto Petro and Santanyi or Cala D or which are not very far.. we went halfboard, and the food is not that bad, but I wouldnt say it was great either!,, I think you definately get what you paid for.
Because there is not many places where to eat around there, Half board is not a bad opition, just be aware that you are not going to get a lot of choice!,, and you might have to compromise in this sence.
other than that,, I think I might go back next year!!

Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant event at this hotel: sneak-in theft while we were asleep!!!
As the A/C was not working properly we decided to leave the door to the balcony open during the nights (we stayed for 6 nights in July 2014). On the 5th night someone had sneak-in to our room, while we were sleeping inside!!!! and removed two handbags with valuables. All the cash, jewellery and camera have been stolen!!!
Be careful when you book at this hotel!

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms on the first and ground floor...

This hotel is just the perfect get away place to be ,directly on the beach and the playa s'amarador just a few minutes walk away
The family run two star hotel far out weighs any four stat hotel I have stayed in .
The food is plentiful and is certainly more than one needs .....
Juan is very attentive to his guests .
The sea view rooms are a must as the views are spectacular .
This little gem of a hotel needs to be given more than two stars in my opinion ,
Although I want to share my experience with others I also want to keep it a secret but it's is such a special place to be .....

Room Tip: Sea view rooms .corner rooms are larger .

The location couldn't be better, it's just by the beach. We had a double room/studio with nice sea view. You could hear the waves crashing in on the beach from the balcony - very soothing. Next to the hotel you have the Mondragó Natural Park with pine forrest & walking routes. It's a family own hotel which gives it a personal vibe and the service was very friendly. We didn't have any meals at the hotel so can't say anything about the food. The room had a okay sized fridge, microwave, coffeemaker etc, very convenient. Pool area was nice. This is not a party place, very peaceful and it got quiet really early in the evening.

It's built in 1964 which gives it a retro vibe but also means poor noise isolation etc. The interiors are quite tired and old, beds not that comfortable and the quilts had some cigarette burns on them. Having said this I still think it's quite good value for money due to it's location. It is cheap compared to average prices around Mallorca. I also prefer staying in family owned businesses rather than big chain hotels. Don't think I would ever stay here again but then again I usually don't stay in the same place twice, big world out there :)

We stayed at this hotel on the first 2 nights of our honeymoon. The hotel itself is very simple, and relatively cheap. We payed for half board, which consisted of breakfast and an evening meal, both self service. The food on offer to us was certainly not worth writing home about, but we did notice that those who ordered from the separate menu were provided with much nicer looking food.

We stayed here mainly for the beaches, and it was totally worth it. The white sands and clear blue sea were luxurious, and in the early morning, late afternoons and evening they were practically empty. I'd happily return again for this reason alone, however I would definitely avoid the half board option in the future. There were a couple of bars/restaurants on the beaches which served nice food!

Playa Mondrago is a very well maintained 2 star family run hotel,we have been coming here for the past seven years, Juan and his staff are very helpful and attentive to all the guests.Breakfast is buffet eggs bacon mini sausages beans (English) plus cheese meats rolls fruit yoghurt cake not top quality but its 2star and you will find something to your liking.A small swimming pool is below the dining room but with the sea is so near you may find you never use it.the best part is as they say location location location people drive from all over the island to spend a day on one of the two beaches here and you only have a 20 metre walk. The hotel has about 40 rooms and 200 metres up the road 1 more hotel about same size no sea views here though.everyone else comes to the beaches by car or bus about every 2 hours last bus 7.30 so early morning and after 7.30 the whole area is very peaceful with very few people. If you want night life it's not for you, if you want to really relax and escape then Playa Mondrago is the place.

Room Tip: All front rooms are sea view but the best views are on the 3rd or 4th floor.

We came here earlier in the year and absolutely fell in love with the location, the hotel, the people here and everything in between. I have to say, the service we received here trumps some of the 5* hotel experiences we have had. Can't recommend it enough.
