Arrival and check in simple,good reception staff.
Room was recently refurbished,clean airy and decent size with a fantastic coast and sea view,unfortunately let down by pidgeon excrement to the left and right of the balcony.
Entertainment was poor with the exception of a new act called the 'Carnaby Girls'.
The entertainment team pool side was also poor eg one day wandering around with an apple with cocktail sticks stuck in asking guests,whilst relaxing to guess the amount of sticks,taking two young men two hours - hardly entertainment.
The bar service was very hit and miss depending on who served you or your gender & age. The best member of the bar staff (in the whole hotel for us) is Roberto who was extremely professional,friendly and helpful. Unfortunately this department also had in our opinion the worst member of staff who's name we didn't get but was the only one with a beard. He was arrogant,unhelpful,unfriendly and every other 'un' you can think of to the point where you did not want him to serve you.
The pool side food was virtually inedible,cold ,dried up,undercooked ie raw burger- we tried a couple of times but gave up.
The main restaurant (canteen) well where do I start !!!!!!!
I would rather have eaten at my works canteen for a week than in this establishment.
Breakfast - Normal selection of foods available ie pastries,cereals, hot& cold buffet but poor quality.Unfortunately the hot was cold! and the cold was hot! The bacon was the most disgusting,fatty inedibile example ever seen,baked beans were poor quality,sausages were cold and overcooked most days, overcooked fresh tomatoes making them mushy,tinned disgusting mushrooms and the eggs, well scrambled you would not recognise,fried eggs always a queue.
Lunch - we only visited once on a lunch time,the offerings were similar to the evening.
Dinner - The main course offerings were very poor quality meat ie chicken thighs and wings (never saw a breast),sausages which were undecooked,fish that was mushy,belly pork and a joint of pork which was raw and taken away after several complaints about it. Vegetables were mainly frozen and looked like they had been sat there all day. The salad bar was acceptable but very simple. There was an adequate selection of deserts and cheese and biscuits on offer most evenings.
Food was not replenished quick enough when the bowls were empty or when an item ran out there was a lot of frozen and tinned foods on offer,very little fresh fruits and vegetables which I've not experienced in over 40 years of travelling around Spain and Majorca.
All in all although the hotel was clean and tidy in all areas we would not return because of the poor,low grade quality of food on offer. We did eat out a couple of evenings during our stay as towards the end of the week we could not face the 'same old same old in the hotel'.
There seems to be management milling around but appear to be oblivious as to the customers concerns.
I would not recommend to a personal friend !

Check in nice and easy after we did a private transfer after reading reviews about coach transfers taking over 3 hours. Beautiful location. Disappointed to find no tea or coffee making facilities in room (which was clean and bright with an amazing sea view). Breakfast was not till 0800 so if you're an early riser it's a long wait to get a coffee. Restaurant never opened on time and mire often than not we had to queue to get in. Food very disappointing. Repetitive, tasteless, unlabelled and pot luck even with a label that said turkey turned out to be lamb! Went all inclusive and decided to go out for the day and when we enquired about a packed lunch we were told they do not provide this service! The tourist tax cost was a huge shock over €45 which you paid up front and then having to pay extra for the safe and beach towels was annoying and spent majority of spending money on Check in alone! Flew with first choice- no rep to be seen all week. I would not class this as 4 star. Staff were friendly and views beautiful but will not be returning here again.

Arrived on the 5th June for one week in an Extra class room with sea view. Booking in to this recently updated hotel was quick and after paying the now double tourist tax of 46.20Euro we were given a folder with information about the hotel and services. Room white and modern with open wardrobe, bathroom had a large shower area where the bath had been taken out to conserve water, nice selection of complementary toiletries. TV on wall with only English news channels, Bluetooth speaker, Kettle for tea & coffee, two complementary bottles of water with collars welcoming you to the hotel; mini bar had a small selection of soft drink and price list, a safe and two beach towels are also included in the cost of the room which saved you being charged a 10Euro deposit. Double bed was comfortable and the room was cleaned each day to a very high standard with good air con. The standard rooms do not have any of these extra amenities so you would need to budget for the cost of the safe at 24.50 euro for the week. Good free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. On our second day the tea, milk was not replenished, several request were made over our stay to obtain replacements only to be told on our last day that they were courtesy for you on day of arrival only.
The Mirador is shared via a short path with the Calas De Mallorca which has a small shop selling the normal holiday bits and English news papers. You can share the indoor pool (Not heated) and the Gym but cannot eat or drink there. The large pool is shared by both hotels and the normal towel placement before 7am despite the hotel notice forbidding this. Most disappointing was the pool opening hours 10am to 6pm so my early morning swim was out of the question with pool roped off and the children asked to leave the pool at 6pm. Pool bars not open due to maintenance and painting if you wanted a drink you had to go up the stairs to the main sports bar which of a day time service was quick not so good of an evening with queues most nights. Drinks mostly local brands with the odd brand such a Martini but the Baileys were a copy and undrinkable, bar had several TVs showing only Spanish programmes. Filter coffee was available but staff not always happy to serve as it took them longer so preferred to give you coffee out of the machine. Mixed entertainment every evening best act we seen were the Carnaby Girls great 60s duo.
The restaurant was a big disappointments with possibly the poorest offering of food we have ever had in a Sol Hotel, the only thing positive about it were the views. Once you pass the room check- in staff it is like entering a cafeteria with no Maitre d” you find the nearest empty table which is laid out with heavy tumblers, no wine glasses it really felt like being in a works canteen. All drinks are Self service; breakfast was always a problem as the one jug of milk was always empty so you had to ask staff which took a long time to be refilled. The white wine was undrinkable and the red chilled, beer was fine. Ironically the wine list cover quoted “Life is to short (to drink bad wine) The quality and variety of the food was very poor with all of the cooked meat s either undercooked or burnt, a lot of the dishes had no description labels so it was pot luck knowing what you were about to eat. On the Carvery one evening the pork joint was so rare in the middle that it and was quickly removed following a fellow guest complaints. Other nights they were carving turkey legs or cheap meat cuts with one highlight of the week ox tails. If you were a vegetarian the food was the poorest with little choice and dried up. There was no direction to any staff to replace empty food dishes or check of the standard of food. There was a microwave you could use to heat your food up. We witness staff wiping around the table mats rather than take them off the table to clean. We had no choice but to eat a small selection of food that looked safe such as soup and salad they could not even fill the salt cellar with the correct salt; sea salt will never pour out of the small holes. We went out for several meals in nearby restaurants. Attached pictures of some of the food will give you a clearer picture of the standard.
In the absence of a guest questioner we made our disappointment known to Sol, but after three emails gave up with the best response to the poor wine we could have purchased a bottle in the restaurant and should have complained more to the management or Guest relations. If the management cannot see their shortfall in standards complaining would be fruitless and you do not go on holiday to be constantly complaining.
As frequent travellers who have stayed in several Sol hotels the food and wine does not resemble the standard that we have enjoyed, If this is the new company bench mark we will not be booking into a Sol hotel again.
Reading comments from other contributors this issues is ongoing and has not been addressed by the hotel management A recent comment made by another contributor for this hotel was “The food was to die for” that’s one way of describing it.

Had a nice break away for Father Day with my dad at the hotel, very impressed with the customer services of all the staff and can honestly say they really do work hard. My main feedback would be surrounding some operational issues . I feel the chiefs are extremely overworked and the hotel should maybe put some more on during busy times to avoid ques of people waiting for freshly grilled meat. I would like to say a big thank you to the pool staff who again over worked however managed fantastically . I feel with some minor tweaks this could defiantly become a 5*

Came here for a week with my partner. We have been coming to this hotel for a couple of years and have the most relaxing stay. Plenty of sunbeds, we always got a sunbed at around 10:00am every day no problem. The hotel itself is lovely with nice décor and we love to chill out on the terrace with an ice cold drink. We visited Porto Cristo, very easy to get to by jumping on a bus outside of the hotel and worth the visit. The food was a little repetitive but we always managed to find something to it so it wasn't a problem- it wouldn't put me off going to this hotel again. To round it up, a lovely hotel, great staff and a very relaxing week long holiday!
