I have just returned from an 11 day stay at Hotel America with my boyfriend and we both had a fantastic time. The hotel was great and the views lovely. The food is a little repetitive but nice, and there are plenty of options what with the restaurant and pizzeria downstairs. Plenty of drink choices included in the all inclusive, and staff are very friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel and it's great value for money. One problem was the walls are paper thin and you get a lot of noise when people come to their rooms at night and in the morning. We heard a domestic from the couple next door! Other than that, great views lovely beach and nice but cold pools at the hotel.

How can this hotel be awarded 4stars? Unfortunately due to flight delays we arrived after mid night. It's about an hour from the airport too, which doesn't help. We paid for private transfer and still got in when everything else had gone to sleep. No water, nothing in fridge - no facilities for even making tea/coffee - had to go in search of a vending machine with change obtained thankfully from the night staff. We missed breakfast the first day (too tired out!) but went into the dinning room for lunch which was okay, probably because we were hungry - all other meals with the exception of Breakfast were tasteless. This hotel let the Spanish down completely. No flavour and pretty inedible at times. Breakfast, was okay, not wonderful unless you like streaky slimey fatty bacon! With the amount of cafes/restaurants and bars in the area, one does wonder if the hotel has made a deal with the local establishments..e.g we serve them revolting food and they will come to you, we dont care - we all ready have their money! I say this, because we visited two very nice restaurants and other tourists were easy to spot with their colour coded wristbands!
The room was clean, could not fault it or the cleaning staff. No remote control to the tv, as another reviewer discovered you pay extra for that - not worth it as only one english channel and cn news at that! Then you have to pay for the safe in your room - hardly all inclusive now, is it?
Okay, so I've covered the food.... drinks. All inclusive, if you like very young Spanish wine your only other choice is fruit juice or a reasonable beer. If you want anything else, wait. In a queue for the bar. This how the hotel makes money - two bar staff, one cleans glasses the other serves the never ending queue... by the time you've got your drink, you may as well go to the back of the queue and wait again!
The hotel is situated next to the beach. a huge plus. You'll have to pay for the wifi, but the cafe near the beach will give you its password, so you can sit in the sun and communicate with those back home should you need to, all for the cost of a drink. The food here, however, is worth while.
The so called Pizza bar in the hotel - was empty every time we visited. Not surprised, got a pizza there ONCE.... Break your teeth? No not this bg**er, you could of thrown it on the floor and cracked the marble tiles with it! The so called pool bar, stocked thin plastic ham and you could make your own sandwiches etc. ..and of course, that too young Spanish wine!
Overall the hotel was okay, it was just the food and waiting for drinks which really let it down. All the staff were polite and the place was clean.
The area is quiet, which is what we wanted...no clubs and the only screaming kids were in the next hotel! Not much to do in the immediate area, except shop ( & any smokers, please note the tobacconist is closed on Sundays but vending machines are in most bars). Ideal for a short break. I haven't rated room service as we didnt use it - and there is no fitness center, just a cool/cold pool. Travel tip - Take a jumper, when the wind blows its very drafty on that corner of the coast!

Room Tip: Stayed in room 603 - on the 6th floor, wonderful sea views and benefited from the sun first thing in...

We stayed for a 4 night break. Paid for superior extra large room, which was on 8th floor (801) right next to the lift which was out of order our whole stay. Sea view but only from one side due to the design of the balcony - we saw the sea & next door hotel, which was a shame. Room was lovely but not that superior - what you would expect of a 4*. Go for the extra large if you like having space, I did like the large squishy sofa, very comfortable & a change from having to sit on the beds. My main complaint about the room would be that the air conditioning was not sufficient & we felt very uncomfortable through the night, not what you expect from a Hotel of this standard. Nice large bathroom with walk in shower, cleaned & towels changed daily.
Food was good, again what you would expect, lots of choices at each meal & snack bar & pizzeria serving in between meals. At meal times, self service drinks: Beer, wine, water & fruit juices (tea & coffee only at Breakfast). Glasses for water & fruit juice were the size of a thimble - please larger glasses!! Alternative soft drinks would have been nice - coke, lemonade, these were available in other places but not dining room. Dining room advertised as air conditioned - it was not on while we were here & at times it was stifling - I felt really faint on one occasion. Lift does not go right down to pool level so makes it difficult for people with mobility difficulties or families with buggies, you can go right round the hotel but it is a long way.
The resort is quiet but suited us & only a short 2 min stroll from the hotel, has everything you need really. Beach easily accessed down the steps & a lovely coastal path for sightseeing.
We travelled with Thomas Cook & coach transfer from airport took only 1 hour - on way back over 2. It obviously depends how may hotel are on the pick-up, drop-off route. In all we had a very pleasant stay & would recommend this hotel for a quiet, relaxing break.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for superior room & request a high floor as the views are better & less noise.

Dear Linda W,
We welcome your comments about our hotel. Indeed one of the 4 elevators was out of service for a few days, but we understand that with three lifts up to 8 people is in a perfect service.
The room 801 is bigger than a normal room, so we understand that space is more than average.

We look forward to serving you again.
Thanks.

Just came home from globales america today. I booked this as was ment to be the best in callas. Now the reasons this shocks me are below.
1.
Iron 65 euoros 10 night approx. I could of bought 6 irons of that standard for that price.
2. Safe cost similar for 10 nights and 10e deposit for the tv remote.
3. One english tv channel. Normally get a few in a 4star.
3. No gym so if you like to keep fit this aint your place
4. No massage or spa services at all. But hairdressers in the resort can help with that as we found out. Not from the hotel may i add.
5. Entertainment hmmm the standard extremely low. We didnt think there was any till we see a young lad reading bingo numbers in a room with pillows in it so know one could see.
6. Pools were freezing sea was alot warmer. Spent less than 5mins in them freezing pools.
7. Food very average nd im not that picky either. Dog fish one day what im sure stunk the place out. Gagging to breath couldnt go in there.
8. Pizzaria hahaha no they do call it that regularly dont fill a room that holds 200 people .with no more than 6 people in there at any one time maximum. Good job as only 2 different pizzas are put out.
9. I ordered the superior double sea veiw bath-shower. This means 2 twin beds pushed together and a shower. NO ROOMS HAVE DOUBLES OR BATHS.

Theres were a few other minor things too but your probarbly thinking why have you given this 3stars well theres a few reasons.

1. THE VEIWS ARE STUNNING.

2.My partner speaks spanish so staff were all very freindly enough.

3. Very close to the resort. Which hasnt alot to do but nice for a relaxing time.

4. Central point cafe bar in centre of resort really nice people kirsty and donna. Thankyou

My final comments and summary. Its great for families with kids under 10 as nice safe resort. Or over 60s who just want to sunbath and look at stunning veiws

I agree with a lot of the reviews regarding Globales America.

Just returned from a week away so let me get this out the way before I start, like many other reviews our travelling time was approx 4 hrs, as we were waiting for flights to arrive in, (Tip would be to upgrade to a more direct transfer if possible or like us after reading the reviews prepare yourself for a long haul), but on the return journey we were picked up at 08.30hrs to get to the airport to fly at 12.00am which went smoothly.

Excellent value for money, excellent location near to an idyllic beach, I have been to many all inclusives and find this one of the better ones.

Good service and polite and friendly staff, especially reception (checked in by Carla who spoke good English and very friendly, very hard working staff, pool bar, at times this can get busy and the queue is at the door but with a little patience it goes down (maybe an area to look at when it gets into peak times). Restaurant managers (very friendly) on the door meeting and greeting guests and over seeing the mealtime.

The room was on the sixth floor and a superior room which was one of the nicest decor and picturesque views we have had. The room was cleaned everyday, my thought was the beds were a little hard.
The food was excellent, drinks were very good and to top it off the pizza / pasta place was good for a change or a late night snack, freshly made pizzas. (Poolside snacks are limited but it's not long between breakfast and lunch.
Locally you can walk to shops and a few bars and a small fair including trampolines and dodgers etc, 5 mins away.
Overall this was an excellent value for money hotel for the price and beach location. I would defiantly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Most rooms are sea view, but at the minute I believe the 6, 7, 8th floors have been upgraded to supe...

Lovely hotel in a great location - only letdown is airport transfer. Staff extremely friendly and helpful beyond what I have experienced anywhere else. Food good and a fair choice at every mealtime. Drinks choice good too, again better than in other AI hotels I've stayed at. Had a lovely relaxing break and enjoyed the entertainment provided by Chouaib, even though he was the barman we found him very friendly and funny and he kept us laughing most nights with his banter. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here in September 2013 for 4 nights. The hotel itself is lovely. It has 2 pools. And the beach is literally down a few steps. The food is very good although it does get a bit boring because it's pretty much the same things day in day out but the quality of it is really good. Also of a night time I think it was 9pm-midnight. They have a man who makes pizzas so you can go up and have a slice of pizza an some pasta or chips etc if your still peckish. They also have snacks served all day including cheeseburgers, hotdogs and ice cream. The staff were very polite and helpfull. The lager on tap was San Miguel and they have all different shorts etc you can also have on the all inclusive. The town nearby has lots of bars and places to eat. The only thing that was bad for us was that the owner of the beach shop next to hotel would lock his dogs in his shop over night an they would bark through the night so we didn't get much sleep at all over the 4 days! We complained to reception but they said they had informed the police but was not much they could do. Apart from that really nice hotel if you want a relaxing get away.
