“Cheap and cheerful package hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013 via mobile

Stayed for 4 nights at the romani and as with all basicall inclucive hotel's its worth the money. Big pool, separate kid's pools, plenty of sun beds but I feel the english turning german was a bit ott! Ie: towel's down before sunrise to get the best spot! Food very basic but enough there to satisfy.... all inclusive drinks where ok, 2 per person per round and as its free flow measures trips to the bar don't need to be hurried. Room I had could sleep 6 and wasn't cleaned that well but maid did come in everyday. What she did I don't know! Did have to change rooms after one day as the noise from the front of the hotel with guest coming in at all hours from town and the transfer coaches was a bit much and the fact reception charged me €20 after i moved! Only down side to the room was the maid leaving the balcony door open all the time! There's no lock on the balcony door either and as a single female traveller I found it a bit worrying. I would return to this hotel if it was in a different area. Not much to do apart from walk to the beach... and its quite a walk!

Room Tip: stick to the main hotel and not family apartments as the rooms were clean rooms facing the pool are...

I stayed at the Romani this year with my children as a family holiday, what a mistake, the transfers after visiting every orther resort on the island finally arvives in Calas de Mallorca after 1.5 hours, NOT GOOD IF THEY GET TRAVEL SICKNESS. Would have got a taxi from the airport if i had known. The outside of the hotel looks like an old council estate which has been forgoten about for 3 decades. On the first night had to listen to a couple coming back drunk and smashing there room up next to us which was frightening for my children and having to listen to there FOWL LANGUAGE. This got reported to the night recption but we had to listen to this going on for around 2 hours +, POOR POOR POOR. I informed night staff that i would call the POLICE myself if it happened 2nd night. The food is ok if you like fish, as i do but not every meal, if you can imagine 500 people all queuing to fight to get a table, not a good experience. ONLY 2 DRINKS AT THE BAR AT A TIME, i was told, how does that work if its you and 2 children, yes you have to QUEUE all over again. POOR POOR POOR. Seems thay close down sections of bars to keep you waiting so they control the amount of drink you have. So much for all inclusive. And the attitude of 1 member of bar staff was appalling, this guy should not be dealing with the public as he has this ability to anger you with the way he speaks to you. HE FORGETS YOUR MENT TO BE ON HOLIDAY AND INDIRECTLY PAYING HIS WAGE. I can supply his name if requested. I would NEVER stay here or recommend this place to any of my frinds. You might think all i have done is banged on about the negatively about this hotel and yes your right, but i still feel so angry about this so call hotel, what a waste of good money.

Room Tip: dont book here, simple.

24th-27th October All Inclusive
My daughter (24yrs) and I took advantage of this last minute 3 night all inclusive deal and were not disappointed. The hotel ticked all the boxes for a totally chilled enjoyable stay. The hotel takes pride in cleanliness across all areas. The rooms/beds were comfortable and clean towels provided daily. We were fortunate enough to experience beautiful weather during our stay and the room had a fan to cool us down. The mealtimes were extremely enjoyable and the staff were efficient in ensuring all choices of food were available and dirty tables cleared away and reset with new tablecloths. There is plenty of organised activities for everyone should you wish to take part. The shops and beach are just a short walk from the hotel should you wish to stretch your legs. We will definitely visit Cala Romani again and perhaps bring dad along too!

Room Tip: Rooms on the fourth floor at the front of the hotel got the sun in the morning and the sun in the af...

We have stayed in this resort twice before but had not encountered this hotel and we were pleasantly surprised. Although the transfer can be a bit long winded treat it as a sightseeing tour.We love the island of Majorca it is so beautiful. We saw the holiday advertised in a local paper at a very reasonable cost , the holiday came with Ryanair Flights to which we were wary but speak as we find was excellent both ways and on time . We were checked in very quickly and given room317B, it was confusing although we found 317 did not realise the door led to 2 doors -now which door was 317A AND WHICH 317B not marked. Room very small but adequate on the roadside but no noise problem we slept ok with balcony door open. The hotel has mix of nationalities but we met some very nice people,t he hotel has a lively atmosphere although the entertainment can be a little long winded with the different announcementsin other languages but heck we are in another country. There are 2 entertainment venues downstairs by restaurant family entertainment and upstairs adult venue. It did seem strange to finish the Karaoke at 10p.m. in my experience the singers sound better after that time. Food was very nice in a busy restaurant but ran very smoothly with very efficient staff, not very much choice in snack bar however. The staff in this hotel work very hard always seem to be cleaning the place. The swimming pools were excellent and what a good idea to stop inflatables sorry kids. The hotel has a private path down to the beach,we were disappointed this time however did not remember that much seaweed you had to wade through , maybe it was the time of year we holidayed 15-22October the weather was beautiful up to 30*C luverly. There is an excellent bus service which we caught outside the Hotel Samoa only 3.75Euros to Cala Bona, the bus goes along the coast try dropping off at Porto Cristo and visit the Caves of Drach pick up some vouchers from Cala Romani reception for cheap entrance....All in all a nice holiday thank you Cala Romani!

Room Tip: Rooms in main hotel would seem to be preferable any problems not far from Reception.

My partner and I stayed here 22 to 29 october and found the hotel to be fine, The food is pretty good with plenty of variety and self serve wine. The pool is huge but for some reason lilos are not allowed in it which was a bit puzzling.
There is a path that leads all the way down to the beach and is about a 10 minute walk, The beach itself is quite small but also quite nice, you can walk out to sea about 100 meteres in chest high water and there is a boat mooring at the end of the rocks which people used to jump into the sea from.
The rooms in the hotel are are basic but functional and clean, CNN is the only english speaking chanel on the telly.
The staff were hard working and friendly (Apart from one blonde woman who worked on the bar and had a face like a slapped posteria, she addressed my partner as YOU! LADY... on another occasion was heard slagging off the English.. Very unproffessional)
The resort itself is a bit quiet with just a scattering of bars and restraunts.
To sum up - If you have booked this hotel dont worry its perfectly acceptable and good value, in my opinion its ideal for families with kids...
One last thing, the transfer is long and frustrating so if you have the cash get a Taxi.
Adios...

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the hotel is quieter than the ones overlooking the pool.

Myself and my husband stayed here for three nights. We had a fabulous time as the hotel was one of the friendliest I've stayed in. Staff would go out of their way to help you and the bar staff helped entertain you aswell. The beach nearby and coastal path are well worth visiting as you'll be pleasantly surprised. Rooms acceptable and clear indication that they are maintained regularly. No hair dryer but able to manage without. Beds really comfortable too. Food a bit repeatative but this is the case in most all inclusives. Drinks are always available no parts of the day where they are not available. Did feel a little like we were being pushed out though as we were some of the last group of the 2013 season and we were waved off with the hotel being locked as we drove off . Overall a good hotel for those on a budget. Suitable for couples, families and groups of all ages.
