This was our second stay in this hotel, three years ago we couldnt falt it and didnt think it could get any better.Well we were wrong.Since our last visit the hotel has had beautiful new bathrooms and continues to be spotless in all areas. jos`e the manager is out and about all the time getting to know his guests and making sure every thing and everyone ok.The restaurant is second to none with the most fantastic range of food and as a ceoliac needing gluten free food I was so impressed to see so many gluten free labels by the food.Nothing is is a problem to the staff they are all happy, kind and friendly, especially Atunba in the restaurant he is was so helpfull and obliging,as for Oscar we loved him in the pool bar but now hes in the restaurant he is a tonic every day with his cheerful, jolly helpful mannor.
The resort is beautiful, clean, quiet and relaxing. It isnt a large busy resort and if you like walking be prepaired it is rather hilly. If you like a more lively holiday it would't be for you although there is a taxi rank outside the hotel to take you here and there.
perfect holiday

Stayed here for a week mid August. Lovely hotel, fabulous staff, great food, relaxing and beautiful location, average entertainment, ridiculous sunbed activity. So pretty much the same as everyone else has said. Aimed at older travellers but I am in my early 40's and didn't feel out of place in August (I imagine it's different out of season) . My only suggestion would be (although it was amusing to watch people tuck into shepherds pie and bread and butter pudding) a larger selection of local dishes but that said, all the food was beautifully cooked and very tasty. Would return if a relaxing break with not much else to do was the requirement.
Thomsons should not send you to the airport over 3 hours early and it would be helpful to have a rep waiting at the return airport.

Room Tip: High floor with sea view is a must

We had 7 days in this lovely hotel. We really enjoyed our stay but think we would have enjoyed it more if our room had been a) a twin and b) with a sea view. Unfortunately we had a double room which was basically a single with a double bed. It was also at the back of the hotel and was extremely noisy in the early morning. Apart from this it was a lovely resort, very quiet and clean. The room was well equipped although the bathroom was a little dangerous as the shower door over the bath had to be opened inwards, over the toilet and meant you had to be fairly athletic to get out of the way of the door and climb into the bath. Fortunately my husband and I are without ailments but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with arthritis or similar problems.

Our second stay at this hotel and no complaints from us again. Super cleanliness, food and service. We found all the hotel staff friendly and helpful, as usual the manager Jose kept a close eye on the way everything was done.
We were lucky enough to be at the hotel for Tourist Day which was great fun, the lunchtime buffet provided by the hotel and entertainment were very good. The day's festivties ended with a spectacular firework display.
Needless silly sun bed race every morning, there are ample beds, parasols and spaces to be had.
Unfortunately my sister was unwell during our stay and had to be hospitalised. A word of grateful thanks to the Thomson reps who very helpful as were the manager and his staff.
We have booked already to return next year, can't wait.

Room Tip: Lovely views from a high floor

The hotel is situated on the edge of a beach overlooking a beautiful bay with an island restaurant. Undoubtedly superb views are available from sea view rooms. The building is made of 2 parts one much older than the other. Rooms in the newer part are larger and more spacious than in the older part and rooms with a side sea view get noise from the hotel opposite and bus movements which are all hours day and night. Some single rooms are quite small. There is a long dining room with views over the pool area where breakfast and dinner is served on a rolling buffet basis. This can be quite busy at times but there are plenty of staff to clear and clean tables. The food at both meals can be summed up in one word, wonderful. The choice, quality and presentation is very good with an abundance of fish(usually 2 or 3 every dinner) and various roast and grilled meats as well as duck through the week. A superb selection of suites and cheese board and a fresh fruit table that includes specialities like lichee, star fruit ,cape gooseberry as well as the more common varieties. Wine is priced from 13€ and a good selection of local wines are available. Staff throughout the hotel are very friendly and the manager very hands on and approachable. Reps and hosts are very good and the entertainment on a par with most others. The pool area is extensive with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas but suffers from the disease that afflicts all all-english hotels the sun bed rush. More insidious than just bagging a bed, umbrella, and table each is the need for some to have 2 or even 3 mattresses. This greed sometimes leaves sunbeds available but insufficient mattresses. Overall this hotel is very good, the only complaints seem to be about room size but the Thomson brochure is specific indicating that some rooms are smaller.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms have a wonderful view, but overlook the stage if you are an early sleeper.Side sea vie...

We really enjoyed our stay, friendly staff, very clean spacious sea-view room with comfy bed, overlooking pool. Food was fabulous, plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner. Eggs, omlettes, pancakes cooked to order they also cooked back bacon and black pudding some mornings and champagne available free two mornings of our week!! Dinners were good, puddings were better! Even a chocolate fountain on Gala night!
The usual early morning rush if you wanted a good lounger by the pool but only had trouble one day getting one when we tried a little later on. The two reps who were in charge of the entetainment were very good. Aqua ballet and aqua keep fit were hilarious with guy (name escapes me). Resident Duo a bit samey and entertainment finished too early for me, about 11.30! Nice little restaurant just at side of beach, beer much better and cheaper there!
The beach was lovely especially first thing in the morning, got very crowded with locals at weekend tho! A few good clothes shops, supermarket and paper shop were across road. If you want more Pegura was a hot 30 minute walk away or you cld get cab for a few Euro's. Shedloads of shops selling same old stuff, plenty of bars and restaurants too!
A lovely spot for some R & R.

Room Tip: Had a room on 1st floor didn't have any noise problems!
