I didnt review this hotel last year, because there were so many excellent reviews and they echoed my own thoughts. However, this year we chose See Estaques in Santa Eulalia as we were tempted ny the edge of resort location (playa camp de mar is undoubtedly isolated). It was a mistake! Whilst we had a good time....the hotel just didn't live up to the Camp de Mar. This hotel really does set the Gold Standard and a cheap 10 min taxi ride give you access to some small and sedate resorts. If you've booked this hotel for the coming season you've got a real treat in store! :-)

Just spent 2 weeks at Playa Camp De Mar Hotel In Majorca. I would highly recommend this hotel, food was brilliant, with many added extras during the fortnight. Hospitality was excellent from the hotel manager Jose being front of house on many occasions, also restaurant staff from the top chef, restaurant workers, bar staff, reception staff and cleaners. I would also give a mention to Otunba who looked after us very well in the restaurant and of course Oscur who was very funny, but they were all brill. Entertainment was good and the reps did a fantastic job and not to forget Jackie and Frankie who did a great job singing to us most nights. It was in a quiet resort but not just for the over 60 you can easily get to the busier resort 5 minutes on the bus that had more shops and bars.

enjoyed the week at camp de Mar if you want a sun bed set your clock for 6.30 am to get in the queue for 7 am... rush hour idiots .....the pool was lovely and warm and very clean even had an early swim each morning but didn't bother too much for the sun beds ...entertainment round the pool not our thing... some joined in. At night after a nice meal in the restaurant we had a walk to a bar (choice of 3)s in Camp de Mar (don't do entertainment in Hotels).
Have been to this hotel twice now and would like to visit other hotels in Spain so possibly not going to this one anymore. Transfer time is 45 mins in brochure it actually took us 1 hour and 40 mins we was the fifth drop off...disgusting whatever happened to the Thomson gold policy 1st drop off...we paid enough for this holiday lots of people were complaining...

Room Tip: Pay extra for a sea view also high floor where the views are brilliant....

I remember my first foreign holidays many years ago when guests (mainly Germans back then) would be up at the crack of dawn placing towels on sun beds much to the irritation of us Brits. In retaliation the British would try to compete and the result would be nobody getting the relaxing lay in bed we dream of the other 50 weeks of the year. Well it’s like this all over again at this hotel only we can’t blame the Germans. Our first couple of mornings we were woken by the scraping sound of sunbeds & parasols being moved across the terrace by people on a mission to get the best possible spot. Third morning onwards I’m ashamed to admit we joined in and I think this is possibly the case with most people here – if you can’t beat um,join um. I am told people begin to congregate towels in hand at around 6.30 ready for the unlocking of doors at 7.00 but we didn’t go that far. This hotel is probably the nicest we have ever stayed in and such a carry on really does let it down. Now onto the brilliant bits because the hotel really is brilliant…

Never have I come across such friendly, hardworking, dedicated staff. The bar staff are always smiling, willing to have a little joke and after a couple of days remember your favourite tipple. The restaurant staff are very efficient and friendly and the food is absolutely top notch so praise indeed to the kitchen staff. I guarantee you will come home with a tighter waistband!! The resident duo, Midnight Affair warm up the entertainment each evening and they are a delight – the banter they have with each other is brilliant. Jose, the manager, joined the welcome meeting and introduced himself which I thought a nice touch. Even better though was at the farewell meeting (do go as it’s not an excuse for Thomson to promote next years holiday) Jose made a lovely goodbye speech, handed out the champagne and had one of the waiters doing a Michael Jackson Dance – great fun and doesn’t interrupt your day as held at 6.30pm before dinner. There are so many extra little touches such as a lovely chocolate being hand delivered to your room on the last night with a note wishing you a pleasant journey home. I can’t praise the staff highly enough and if they read this a massive thank you.

Anyone looking for an exceptionally well run hotel, great food and a peaceful location then look no further. Feel a bit guilty about the sun bed remarks but I get the impression the management here will take note of constructive criticism and when we come back next year the pool man might wait till at least 8.00am before unlocking the gates. Please!!!!!!

Third visit to this hotel. Stayed 6-16 July. Hotel still meets all our expectations. Can’t fault it. Excellent location (very quiet area - don’t expect nightlife). Good entertainment, spotless, great choice of food, staff very friendly and helpful. Jose should be very proud of his staff. Had to have a limited sea view as all sea view rooms booked. I e-mailed the hotel and asked for a high floor and as near to the front of the hotel as possible. Got a room two away from the front overlooking other side of the bay. What a view, just as good as the view overlooking the pool. Only thing was the room was a little smaller than the ones on the poolside but adequate. Seen other peoples comments re noise from this side of the hotel. Not a problem on the 5th floor. Had a problem with Wifi. It only works in the bedrooms overlooking the pool, so if you pay for it and are on the road side of the hotel, be prepared only to use it elsewhere in the hotel. Don’t believe it’s only for pensioners. There were a whole range of ages whilst we were there including teenagers with parents.
NOW FOR THE TRANSFERS – WHAT A SHAMBLES!! We had a 50min wait for the coach to depart from the airport, waiting for flights to arrive. We then had a 1hr 35min trip around island dropping off. This hotel is 35mins away from airport! What happened to Gold Hotels being first drop offs?? RETURN TRANSFER – Pick up 7.30am for 11.15am flight. We spent 1hr 25min picking up from other hotels. What was most annoying was the fact that 2 coaches turned up at 7.30am – each filling up half the seats and then both doing pick-ups around island for airport. WHY?? We could have filled one coach (an hour later) and gone direct to the airport. This apparently is Thomsons having a new contract with the coach company. They claim 45mins transfer time in brochure – this is misleading customers. Everyone was complaining to Reps – Thomsons need to sort this out for next year or they will be losing a lot of loyal customers.

We stayed 3 nights at this superb hotel after our cruise but wish it would of been longer, all staff need a mention as they all work incredibly hard. Views from our fourth floor room overlooking the sea was lovely, room very spacious and bathroom had the wow factor, food was plentiful and superb quality. Entertainment at night was great and also daytime activities was good, the reps work brilliantly together. We had a lovely 20 minute walk to Paguera through the woodland and also visited Andratix and went there by bus. Beware though people are queuing at 6.30am to get sunbeds, they open the doors at 7am and it is so funny to watch people running for them!! Overall a perfect ending to our holiday and we will definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Seaview is a must
