A typical Spanish tourist hotel with serviceable bedrooms, great shower/bathroom and all the usual amenities. The great surprise was how good the food was - superb breakfast with an outstanding choice and really fantastic evening buffet too. Plenty of variety and all of excellent quality,
Top marks for service, food, cleaniness, helpfullness etc. The downside is the hotel is English only, mainly over 60s and the 'entertainment' includes Bingo each night. A small percentage of people joined the continual 'entertainment' and games which went on throughout the day. That would all be fine except for the constant Hi-de-Hi style microphone announcements banging on about what was happening and when. There really was no need for it - a sign or newsletter would have been much more appropriate.
Each evening there was also entertainment of varying standards. Again, the sad thing was you couldn't escape it as the stage was in the pool area - and most rooms overlook this area. From 7pm -11pm dodgy English cruise-ship-style singers murder perfectly reasonable songs.
It's a real shame Thomson has created a bastion of old-fashioned Britain in such a lovely bay.
The resort itself is nice enough with a handful of restaurants. Be sure to eat early as many stop serving at 10pm - which isn't what you expect in Spain!
Great for a week on a sun-lounger, if only the entertainment team would keep quiet!More
