we arrived never having done an all inclusive holiday before, that part is good, staff are very helpfull and friendly ,when we wanted to change rooms they went out of there way...... to make us happy,
food was good too lot's of selection at all meal times, the only down side was the rooms very small ,corridors smelly and very dated like a step back to the 70's the restaurant is in need of an update bit's of wood missing off pilers ec some one has tried to do a bad paint effect ......reception & bar
again need a compleat referb stained seats and old and shabby looking.......... the entertainment was not good Riu staff seem to do most nights
1st show they did was called Dinner for One ...............not funny at all,
2nd one was The crazy show RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
lifts are a joke too small and not enough for the size of hotel.
Hotel is noisy of a night time round the outside of the bar, full of Germans being very loud
T.Vin rooms but again 2 english chanels

Camp de mar is small lovley beach few shops and bars
news kiosk...
For what we paid it was ok....would I go back maybe when it's had a full referbishment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Staying at the hotel at the moment looking out at the rain. The hotel must have been built in the 1960's and nothing much has changed since. The staff are all very pleasant and the service is excellent as we have come to expect from Riu hotels. The hotel itself is something else again. The whole building is very tired and badly needs a makeover. Rooms are pretty small but clean. The lifts are very slow and too small for the amount of guests in the building. Pool looks good but I havn't tried it yet as it's still raining. The all inclusve deal is a new one on us but it seems to work very well. I just cannot get used to the beer taps at the bar pointing outward so you can help yourself. The food is excellent with a big choice and good service. We changed rooms as the first one was a bit dark and a long way back from the pool. It was no problem to the very friendly reception staff. Overall it is ok and I will return once it has had a facelift.

We had a 4 night stay at the Riu Camp De Mar after a 5 night stay at a Hotel in Ca'n Picafort. It was a lovely mixture having 5 nights Half Board and then coming down to Camp De Mar for a very relaxing stay, All Inclusive.

It was our 3rd visit to a Riu Hotel and although they are all different and in different locations we have been very impressed with all 3 hotels. I can't believe that the staff seem so happy in their work at all 3 hotels, is it part of the training? or is it such a good company to work for!! Anyway it certainly makes a difference when you see staff at the end of "a long working day" still singing and laughing/joking!!

We had a nice room at the side of the hotel, it overlooked the sea/beach and there were some lovely sunsets. Although we don't spend a lot of time in our room we do like a nice room with facilities etc. The tv, which is fairly standard now, (we usually just put on to catch up with news back home) we were a little disappointed as there weren't any english speaking channels, one night whilst getting ready for dinner there was an english football match with spanish commentary, which seemed rather strange. I suppose we noticed it more as the hotel we had come from had got English channels ITV & BBC. This would not deter me from returning as to us it is not a problem, but may be to some travellers.

The food was very good, as usual, at Riu hotels, you choose from 2 sittings for dinner and have the same table for your stay, which was nice. Plenty of choice of food and good quality.
Drinks of course flowed it being All Inclusive, and the Bar Staff were so efficient, my husband was so amazed at how quickly they dealt with the amount of people, never seeming to have to wait.

We thought that Camp De Mar was a nice fairly small resort, not overloaded with shops, and the shops that are there are a little different to the normal, not the "kiss me quick" type products.

We had a car for our entire stay and we went to Paguera which is a lot bigger resort than I had imagined, we also went to Cala Fornals which is only a small cove very pretty with about 3 hotels and we didn't see any shops! unusual. We also went to Port D'Andraxt which is a very nice resort, I think you could get to some of these places on the bus from Camp De Mar.

This hotel is definately on "our return list". although we don't tend to go back to the same resort/hotel, as we like to experience as many new ones as possible, we have some favourites and I think this is one of them.

arrived at riu camp de mar hotel with a warm welcome and a glass of bubbly, rooms small but clean, we had a deluge of a water leak above bath every time the people upstairs had a shower, after 3rd time of complaints we just got used to it and let it drip! the 2 main problems with this hotel are there just arnt enough sunbeds for the amount of people in the hotel, by 8am all had been taken, so got up one morning at 7am feeling very happy with myself that i'd got a great spot (as quite a few beds are in the shade)! went for some breakfast only to find the pool guy had removed my towels when we returned at 8.30! its policy that you cant leave towels longer than 1+1/2 hrs. the other problem is the entertainment! very poor! we paid for a taxi and went into santa ponsa and palma nova a couple of times cos it was so bad! when your watching a so called comedy show and the punchline in english is fourth in line its not so funny! English are out numbered by Germans and Spanish at this hotel! despite my complaints about the hotel we had a really good holiday, beautiful beach and quality time with family.

We stayed at this hotel for a week before going on a cruise. Everyone said to do it this way round because after the cruise we would be disappointed with the hotel.....how wrong they were!! The location is fantastic, we have stayed in various parts of Majorca over the years and this was by far the best. The hotel is situated within seconds of a very pretty and good beach in a cove. The hotel was All Inclusive and offered a varied selection of food, all buffet style. The rooms were clean with daily maid service and we had a fantastic sea view. The hotel reception area was very pleasant and we were greeted with a cold glass of wine and our luggage was taken to our room. All staff in every area were the most friendly and the most helpfull we have come across. The evenings were a bit limited if you expect good entertainment and at midnight the bar was closed. There are a couple of bars locally but nothing to write home about so be prepared to drive or get a taxi if you want a late night or a restaurant meal out of the hotel. If you want a quiet relaxing break or if you have young children then its a great place to go definately not for young singles!!!

I've heard that the Riu chain has an excellent reputation in quality and service so was expecting superb service from this hotel as it has a 4 star rating, this is certainly not the case more of a 3 star category. The all inclusive was great my 4yrs old is a fussy eater and even she found something she liked every mealtme, so good variety on offer. Rooms are a little on the small side for a family of three, suggest you only go back to sleep and shower, however the balcony with tables and chairs was nice. Rooms are reasonably clean although would of expected a higher standard being a 4 star, beware of the chambermaids don't leave you clean clothes out we caught ours putting dust cloths, floor mops and dirty towels on top of ours. Staff were ok no communication really only time we were spoken to was upon checkin.

Overall our 1st experience of the Riu hotels was good. Don't expect this one be 4 star though, you may be alittle disappointed, it's clean and good mix of europeans quite alot of english people at this resort. I would book with the chain again in fact booked with the Riu Cala Millor next month, again this is a 4 star rating, let's wait and see??

Rooms are really small, but clean. The whole hotel needs renewing. (it was not renewed in the last 15 years)Not 4*! Not enough sunbeds. Food and drink is fine, but not what we expected from "all inclusive". Only one bar, and if you want to eat a sandwich os some snack in the afternoon, no possibility.
