This may sound weird but I love this hotel because of the lack of facilities. It was my second stay there in two years. Last year for one week, this year for 11 nights. It's near the airport so you can get a public bus (no 21) 2.5 euros every half hour from the stop near the taxi rank. The name of the stop you want is Hotel Linda - takes about 5 minutes - easy. The bus stop is opposite the hotel. Check in is quick. Safe deposit was expensive (30 euros with 5 deposit for 11 nights) but important I think. Don't worry when you get into your room if the air con seems not to work, wack it up to high and it will be fine. If you want to keep in touch with the UK, there's BBC 1, 2, ITV and Channel 4 on the TV. The rooms are functional, clean and safe. My only small caviat is that the balcony (room 502) on one side of the hotel isn't very private and someone could hope over from next door. I kept the patio doors locked.

I love the fact that there's no entertainment. There's a perfectly good bar and cabaret room with perfectly neat seating, a stage with lights, but nothing ever happens. Fabulous. There are not kids' entertainers and the kids pool is mainly used by adults to sit on the side of reading their books. There's no thumpy music from the pool bar - brilliant. Can there be a directory of hotels with no thumpy pool music set up?

The restaurant is perfectly adequate. Yes there are chips every night, yes it gets a bit samey but there was always a great salad selection, plenty of cheese, meats, breads, fruit and icecream. Put it this way, I put on 3.5 lbs in 11 nights. Breakfast is ok too. Bit greasy but you could (as I saw one chap do), drain it off the bacon using a serviette. Good coffee and all unlimited. Great addition of the pancake station each morning. They serve wine and beer but you can buy it at the bar and take it in to the restaurant.

The reception staff could do a bit of work on their hospitality skills. I tried to be as friendly as possible but maybe it's the language barrier but I found them a little frosty, though it was gratifying to see some familiar faces from last year.

The beach is about 200 metres away but I stayed by the pool. The upper terrace gets the sun all day.

Got the bus (no 15) to Palma (1.5 euros each way) for a day out - loved it. So easy. And hired a bycicle from the shop across the road (2 euros for one hour/5 euros for the day). You get a lock and the cycle path to Palma makes you glad to be alive.

All in all, thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view as high up as possible.

We booked this hotel for a week in the sun and it proved to be excellent value. Whilst the accommodation is basic, the rooms are clean with fresh towels and bedding each day. The food in the restaurant is buffet style with lots of choice, not haute cuisine but quite tasty overall. The staff are a ll very friendly and the pool area was never busy with loungers always available. It costs less than 20 Euros for a taxi from the airport or 1.5 Euro on the airport bus. We will definitely return for another cheap week in the sun.

Room Tip: A high floor might be better

We stayed at the Linda for a week in July. The hotel is dated and needs renovating but the excellent staff and the quality of the food make up for this. Definitely recommend the half board option. If you like planes this hotel is a must as it is on the end of the runway and views of aircraft are excellent. No need to worry about aircraft noise as this is minimal. Swimming pool is quite small but there are plenty of sunbeds available. The bus to and from the airport stops right outside the hotel there is also a regular bus to Palma which is well worth a visit. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep and a local spar shop to stock up on cheap booze

Room Tip: If you want to watch the planes from your balcony room 528 has the best views but all rooms on that...

some new additions since last year, whole hotel now has wi-fi - 20 euros for a week. Also there is an omlette station at breakfast and it turns into a carvery in the evening. Will be returning again next year for sure.

Room Tip: room 528 for plane spotters

This hotel cost me around €50 per night for room, breakfast and dinner.

For that money, it was well worth it.

Rooms are basic but clean. Good shower, bath, tv, wardrobe.

The location is very good, better than most more expensive hotels. The buses to the airport and Palma stop right outside and you can walk to the beach in 5-10 minutes.

I had a room on the narrow end, not facing the pool and not facing the airport (412). I slept soundly every night with no noise issues.

Staff are fine. The women are friendlier, the men a little stern, but no problems!

As for the food - it's fine. If you are on a budget like me then it is ideal to fill up morning and night. Only food snobs could really complain.

Finally, I recommend Hasso car rental. It is just across the road from the hotel. I had to cut my stay short by 4 days and the refund was in my account for the car rental almost straight away.

Room Tip: Choice of airport side, pool side, or the edge I was on (412/413 and presumably the same on other fl...

We went to Can Pastilla and stayed at Roc Linda on the 30th April 2012. There was me and my son and my parents.

We arrived and had to store our cases as our Room in Reception as our rooms were not ready, so we went to look around the area and down to the beach which was a five minute walk. The hotel is in a fantastic location. There is a bus stop right opposite the hotel which goes EVERYWHERE. The Number 15 bus will take you to the airport, Palma which is a 15 minute bus ride costing 2 Euros. The beach is an 8 minute walk and there are plenty of shops and places to eat along the way, for the more fussy eaters there is a Burger King and KFC just opposite the beach as well as take aways, cafes and resteraunts.

When we returned we were shown to our rooms. These rooms were basic but very clean. The decor was a bit dated and the only complains i would have with the room was not enough sockets for plugs, there was 2 in the room and when you have a phone to charge, DVD Player, Straightners, Music speakers a few more would have been helpful! Also the beds are on wheels so you find when you wake up you find that you are no longer against the wall and also for people who have rooms above them will hear the constant sound of the wheels when someone sits on the bed. The rooms have a balcony, we were facing the pool. Rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard, the maid use to even tidy all my sons toys up that he had left out which was nice. There was TV in the room which had the 4 main English TV channels and a few English Kids Channels which was a godsend.

The pool was smaller than we expected but was clean. There was not a lot to do entertainment wise, there was a stage and entertainment area to the hotel but this was not used. The hotel would be perfect if there was entertainment on. There was a bar which was reasonable and pool, hockeys, arcade machines.

The food was excellent, there was always something on that we liked and the meat was always cooked perfectly. The times that they served were also good 7:00 - 9:00 for breakfast which is great if you wanted a lay in and we also had tea in the hotel which was 18:00 - 21:00

The staff in the hotel were excellent, they were great with my son, always made a fuss of him and remembered his name and they never failed to give him a lolly after each meal! They couldn't do enough for you and were all friendly and as the same for the reception staff.

We visited Palma Aquariam which was a 20 minute walk away, this is a great place to stay if your not planning on staying in your hotel much, which you need not do as there is plenty to do around. But for the price we paid, the location and the hotel were fantastic!

The only other thing is we found leaflets in our hotel for a Nature Park - DO NOT GO ON THIS. We did, we had to travel to Palma then get a bus to travel to this place which was in the middle of nowhere. It was ok and we past a few hours away but we were stuck outside waiting for the coach to come back to us, then we were told it only comes every 6 hours [Which we were not told] and we had just missed this, so were stranded and had to order a taxi to Palma which cost 20 Euros. Luckily there was a gas station across from the Nature Park who did this for us, even though it was hard from him to understand us.

Myself and 8 other friends came here as a post A-level holiday in the middle of July.
The hotel was a very short journey from the airport.
The room and bathroom were adequate and we had a decent sized balcony with two chairs.
The pool was large enough with a baby pool attached and we never stuggled to find 5 or 8 loungers together.
The planes going overhead were quite loud but it didn't really bother us.
We stayed half board and found the food to be satisfactory and the menu changed every day - one in our group has a severe nut allergy and another is very fussy and they never went hungry.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, they were a real credit to the hotel.
There was a beautiful beach 5 mins walk away and the sea was clear.
There were a variety of restaurants and bars open till late in the evening and a spar very close to the hotel to buy bottled water etc from.
The buses going around the island were cheap and there was a bus stop right outside the hotel so it was very easy to travel.
We went to the main city Palma for a night out and found it to be very expensive (a small glass of wine was 5 euro's) and the clubs were pretty empty.
We went to Magaluf on 3 nights. To get there it cost 4.50euro and we had to catch two different buses, the second of which was not easy to find the first time, and then a taxi home cost around 40 euro's. However magaluf was a fantastic night out and i would recommend it to anyone.
The hotel offered a deal of 45 euro's to go to the big club in magaluf (BCM) and it was totally worth it, we had an amazing night.
We also used the hotels mini golf facilities and went to a water park one day.
Overal, the hotel had friendly staff, good services and I would recommend it for families or friends. However, if you are looking for a clubbing holiday in Magaluf, this is too far away.
