A beautiful view. Do hope someone buys the restaurant and breathes new life into this great spot. Last year's offerings were so, so poor

No sign of life and for sale signs plastered over building. Not surprised given the quality of meal we had here last autumn!

We arrived just as they were about to close after lunch service but they kindly agreed to give us a table (outdoors with a nice view) and didn't rush us at all. The only downside was that a few of the menu options weren't available, but there was still a good, appetising range to choose from. We particularly appreciated the fact that the menu included a number of Mallorcan specialties, and not just standard European dishes. It was a little challenging to find dishes that the children could get enthusiastic about, but they both ordered roast suckling pig and weren't disappointed with the large, tender and crispy portions of meat with potatoes and apple sauce that they received. Perhaps we would have appreciated more veg relative to meat, but we certainly weren't complaining. Our own dishes of pork loin in cabbage and tumbet were good (not great, but very good). However, it was the puddings that were the real highlight of the meal - some of the nicest desserts we have enjoyed for a long time. The tatin was amazing. The waitress was pleasant and attentive throughout the meal. The meal was expensive relative to other places that we ate (primarily in Pollenca) , but the quality of the food was also better than other places.

Two years ago I wrote a review of Jaume, gave it five stars and described it as "Perfect" so we were very excited to be returning for my birthday dinner. We'd booked a table for 8 p.m. on the Saturday night and when we arrived we were the first customer's to arrive. Drinks were ordered, olives and bread arrived shortly after followed by a vegetable soup as the amuse bouch - so far so good. From then on it went dramatically downhill, I ordered the courgette stuffed with mushrooms - now this does not sound like the most inspiring of starters but the other choices were not overly tempting either. What arrived was two pieces of undercooked courgette (which actually bore more of a resemblance to a small marrow) stuffed with spinach - not a mushroom in sight - and surrounded by a pea puree. It was tasteless and the best description would be that it was a ghastliness of green. We both ordered the suckling pig served with potatoes and apple puree - on our last visit we had raved about this dish. What arrived was a greasy, fatty, tasteless piece of pork, the potatoes were hard and even the apple puree managed to taste of absolutely nothing and the crackling was soft and soggy. With hindsight we should have immediately sent it back. When the waitress came to clear the plates - of which we'd hardly touched, I did say to her that this was most disappointing and tasteless - her response was an uncomfortable expression as she took the plates away. Oh and we were still the only ones in the restaurant, not another single diner came in (and this was a Saturday night) the entire time we were there. To be fair she did offer us a drink as she presented the bill but by this point we'd decided to try to salvage what was left of the evening by going elsewhere for our coffee and liquors. So this was a birthday dinner ruined with absolutely no apology. I've never felt compelled to leave a terrible review on tripadvisor but this one is totally justified.
