I almost don't want to tell people how lovely this hotel is in case its full next time I am in Deia!! The location is just lovely with beautiful rooms either side of the hotel (we had the kids overlooking La Residencia and the sea while we overlooked the rest of the village and the pool) and its lovely to be able to stroll along to a selection of great restaurants. The breakfast was deemed the best of all the 5 hotels we stayed at on this trip and the ambience around the hotel and pool is very relaxing. They are extending to the building next-door and this will include some suites and another pool...can't wait to go back to check it out!

Just returned from a 4 night stay at D'es Puig, the second time we've stayed, and it is still as wonderful as I remember.
Lucien & Adelena are attentive but unobtrusive, the rooms clean and comfortable, the breakfast delicious and varied.
The pool area was very quiet, although occasional noise from the Ryanair construction at the rear of the hotel (nothing too bad).
I'd love to return to this hotel and hope that the large extension due to be completed this winter does not detract from the "small and friendly" feel of Hotel D'es Puig.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more and get a room with a terrace.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Such a lovely, comfortable stay with hosts who take care of your every need. It's a bit like staying as a very welcome guest in someone's beautiful home - but with plenty of privacy. Gorgeous little hotel, fantastic location. Highly recommend.

Lucien and his team run this hotel brilliantly. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they treat guests supremely well.

Conveniently located and offering a superb breakfast, with great rooms and bathrooms, this is the best value hotel in Deia.

The pool is small but perfectly formed.

They've bought next door and are expanding and putting in a new pool area too. Work will be done Oct-Mar and it'll be ready in April.

Can't recommend this hotel enough , though pack ear plugs unless you want their cockerel waking you very early!

There's a house at the back being renovated (apparently by Ryanair boss OLeary for his son to live in) over the 2014 summer which is very noisy during the day. This was the only thing to spoil our otherwise perfect stay.

We spent a week in April with our baby girl in the suite at the top floor of the hotel. The suite is in fact a flat with 2 bedrooms, a huge kitchen, a living room with a tv (small flat screen), stereo and some books in the bookcases. The terrace has a fantastic view, sunbathed from morning till midafternoon. The bathroom is rather small. Furniture is more like an old family house than a trendy hotel. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was great with fresh products (orange juice, fruit, etc...) on the sunny terrace. Our only disappointment was that Deia was not as quiet as we thought. We spent a great week there, we will come back!

Reviewed 20 September 2013

Stayed here for 9 nights in September (3 in the hotel and 6 in the apartments).
The first thing I need to point out is that if you book an apartment it isn't the suite featured on the hotel website. What I find very strange and possibly underhand is that you can't actually book the apartment/s via the hotel's website (only via phone or third party websites).

Pro's for staying at the hotel

• Very very good wi-fi coverage/speed with routers on each floor (if you're glued to your iphones like most people seem to be instead of checking out the glorious scenery)
• Very nice and helpful ball of energy (Adelena) who never seems to stop
• Close proximity to pool (which loses the sun/heat around 5-6pm)
• Good showers
• Very good tv channels (when it was raining this was a life saver)

Con's for staying at hotel

• The european manoeuvre of two twin beds masquerading as a double (You don't get away with this in the uk fortunately!) therefore they move around/apart a lot especially if you are sitting up on them.
• Can be a tad noisy in the mornings/late at night but then aren't all hotels
• Very expensive breakfast (20 euros per person -added onto room price) and is a cold breakfast. A very good cold selection of pastries, yoghurts cereals etc but I could have killed for something hot
• Among the worst sun loungers ever encountered (Don't lift up enough for people to comfortably read so everyone was getting crocked necks)
• Reception is only manned about around 2% of the time so if you need something you will find yourself wondering round looking for someone for quite a while. This is partially because Adelena is always running around trying to do so much and could do with a hand really

Cons of staying at apartments

• People have mentioned no wi-fi. Get over it. If you can't live without your wi-fi just hang out at the hotel reception/balcony etc (only a 2 min walk down the road from apartments)

• Self catering but this is easily managed with small shop nearby and larger one only about 10 mins away and so many great restaurants in the evening.

Pros of staying at the apartments

• Quieter and great views from the higher floors.
• Pretty big as well with large lounge/dining room, an actual double bed (hoorah).

So my conclusion is if you can live without wi-fi and expensive calorific breakfast I would stay in an apartment and then use hotel facilities in daytime if need be.

Room Tip: go for higher floors in hotel and apartment for less noise and better views

Stayed in the Es Puig Deia for 2 nights from 4 September. It was our 5th visit over the last 15 years. It seems to improve with every visit.

We had a lovely warm welcome form Lucian who had done everything he could to accommodate us at short notice. The location of the hotel within the village is wonderful and the view of the pool and the village from our bedroom window was breathtaking. For a small boutique type hotel the breakfasts are very comprehensive and the pool area for relaxation is wonderful. This year there was the addition of a gym.

A wonderful hotel that we shall continue to return to again and again as we love Deia. We find the village and the hotel very special.

Thank you Lucian and staff.
