“Wonderful Holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2011

This was a fantastic hotel and couldnt fault any part of it - we were blessed with one of the hottest June's in years and the whole holiday was brilliant from start to finish. The food in the dining room was so varied, fresh and hot that I cant imagine anyone not finding something to eat and enjoy. We also met some wonderful people while there and eveyrone treat my Mum (83) like a Queen - she is still buzzing.

Hopefully we will return next year to Pama Nova and the wonderful Sol Cala Blanca - thank you to all the staff who work so hard.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed here for two weeks in June and I can honestly say I'd go back tomorrow. I had read other review before I went to say that this hotel was run down and shabby and whilst yes I agree that it could use a lick of paint and a little bit of upgrading the faults are miniscule, as this hotel is spotlessly clean and tidy.
The strength of the hotel lies in its staff, I have never stayed in a hotel where the staff were as friendly and nice as they were in this one. Everyone from reception, to waiters, bar staff, porters and even cleaners alway greeted you with a smile and a hello or hola.
The location was spot on, practically on the beach and you most of the nights you heard no noise at all. Occasionally you heard the odd person passing by being noisy but I find this the norm on holiday and this hotel was the quietest I have stay in.

Just came back from our second stay at this lovely hotel. Palma Nova is a lovely place to holiday and staying at the Cala Blanca makes it perfect. We contacted the hotel to request a room on a high floor so we could enjoy the balcony view and on arrival we were not dissapointed, we had a lovely spacious room on the fourth floor. Pool area had recently been refurbished and looked very nice. The restaurant is perfect, you can sit outside and eat overlooking the sea, and you are never rushed, staff are pleasant and food is good with plenty of choice{and i am a fussy eater but loved it} Lovely beach and sea about 30 seconds away. Lots of lovely bars, the Welsh Mosquitto is a ten minute walk away where staff are lovely and you can sit overlooking the sea. So good we have only been back home 3 days and we have booked to go back to the Cala Blanca again in September.

My partner and I stayed have just arrived back from Sol Cala Blanca and have had a great time.

We arrived early hours and they had a bit of tea waiting for us, which was appreciated. The room was exactly as on the photos with the red patterned curtains and sheets , very spacious and clean. The beds were slightly hard but this didnt bother us we quite liked it. We had a street view which was great for people watching and was not noisy at all. - we were on the 3rd floor.
The only thing is you do get is the sun in the evening, which can be quite hot when you come back off the beach so we didn't sit out until the sun had gone down, but some people might like that.

The staff were all great , the rooms were cleaned every day, reception were helpful and the guys at the bar were very funny and had a chat with you.

Food wise - breakfasts lots of choice but we enjoyed the dinners the most, not as much choice as some hotels we have stayed in but very tasty, there were some things we didnt like but that's just personal and you can't please everyone. Overall we were impressed, after reading some reviews we were a bit worried but needn't have been - the food is fine, the wine can be expesive as can a bottle of water but hotels are so we treated our selves to the wine with dinner just on a couple of occasions.

The positioning of the hotel is fantastic - right on the beach so its lovely when you are eating to have a lovely view and its central to everywhere - bus stop , palma nova and bars. Only thing I would say is that we weren't quick enough to grab a lounger around the pool as it is small which would have made a nice change for us but we were ok as the beach is just across the path - one word of advice is that to hire the sunbeds on the beach its 3.60 euros for a bed and for the brolly which makes it 10.80 euros a day so we brought our own brolly and lilo instead.

Palm nova itself is lovely and clean with a few bars you can sit at in the evening and plenty of places to eat. Weather was great, we arrived after they had had continual rain but it got hotter as the week went on.

We would say that most people in the hotel are 50s + and we are 42 and 37 but didnt feel out of it all as everyone was so polite and there were others our ages as well.
The hotel did provide entertainment in the evening we only went to 2, one was cheesy another great so varies as to what you like but we didnt mind either - holidays are what you make it and with a cocktail in hand we just enjoyed being there.

All in all we had a great holiday and wouldnt hesitate in going baCk to either Palma Nova or Sol Cala Blanca itself - would we reccommend ? - definatly!

Room Tip: sea view lovely street view get the sun in evening

Just returned from a most enjoyable week in this hotel. On arrival , by the time we had left the coach our cases were being carried into reception where we were quickly and pleasantly registered. Our cases were delivered to our room immediately, and what a room. We had taken the advice of tripadvisor travellers and booked a top floor seaview room, the view of the beach was fantastic. Ok room was a bit tired but was spotless, the line was changed 3 times in a week and towels daily as required.

With the exception of one waiter we found all the staff very pleasant and helpful., The food was plentiful and always fresh no better or worse than any other hotel we have stayed but pork 3 times in one week was a bit much, take note whatever is on the lunch menu ( never saw anyone eating it, is also on offer at night) . The breakfast is more than acceptable and even though it stops at 10am fresh food was being put out minutes before this time .

The hotel has only recetly moved to the adults only catagory and is obviously in the process of being refurbished. All the sea facing rooms have new balcony furniture and while we were there new tables and chairs appeared for the conservatory area of the dining room. New sunbeds also arrived for the pool area, I counted there are approximately 70 beds now for quite a small area, but guess what at 7am on the dot like mice people arrived grabbing sunbeds laying them out with their towels on, not only that but towels have started to appear on the sunbeds on the beach! I would truly admire the hotel manager who made it a policy to remove these towels! Mentioning the manager, he holds a welcome party for guests and talks to everyone, he is very much in evidence and very strict with not only the staff, do not dare enter the dining room inappropriately dressed. The entertainment took place round the pool area , low key musicians or singers and all quiet by just after 11, just in time to hit the clubs or bed!

The resort itself was a pleasant surprise, ok it borders Magaluf and there is an overspill of hen/stag parties but we did not see any trouble only very high and some really funny h spirits, maybe we were just lucky. If it was not young ones it was dodge the mobility scooters, the promenade is ideal for the less able.

Overall we had one of the most enjoyable and relaxing holidays for years, oh and the thunderstorm at 10pm one night was better than any firework display!

Room Tip: sea view rooms a bit expensive but well worth it

We had a ten night holiday, ending on 1st June 2011. Hotel pool area was being refurbished and looked wonderful when it was finished, with very little disruption to the guests. There is also a new jaccuzi style bubble bath where the children's pool was. The Hotel was superb as usual, although I think it is time for the Lounge to be refurbished now. Dining room, we ate out every meal on the Terrace and the service was excellent, until our final night when the new Head Waiter was very rude to us. For the time of year we had superb weather and spent most of our time on the beach and in the sea. The Staff are very professional in the Cala Blanca and that goes a long way to giving guests a good holiday. I have been going to this Hotel for MANY years and will be returning in October. Well done once again the Cala Blanca Sol Hotel. Thank you.
