The hotel is far enough away from the the bars so as not to have any noise but close to all the nightlife, restaurants, and beach etc to easily walk. The hotel was ideal for my family holiday in the sun with the ents team the kids best friends by the time we left. Thanks to Emma and Dana who worked their socks off to entertain both the kids and adults. See you all soon.

We, my wife, six year old daughter and myself, originally booked a two week stay at the nearby Nova Apartments through Alpha Rooms. One month after we had been issued with our accomodation vouchers , we were told by e-mail that we couldn't stay there and the reasons were never fully explained to us. So after rejecting their alternative offer, we forked out another €600 to stay at the Rosa del Mar, which we had picked ourselves based on the info provided by AR and some reviews on this site.
When we arrived, with my brother's family, at 10pm we were told that we had only booked one apartment and ended up in a cramped studio until the next afternoon when the manager, to his credit, admitted their mistake and sorted this for us. He also provided a free dinner in the restaurant to compensate.
You get the impression from the hotel that this is a family hotel but that's not the case, at least in mid July it wasn't!! The pool area is nice enough but poolside snack bar was closed for the duration of our stay and snacks in main bar stopped at 3pm. The evening entertainment advertised was a joke to be honest and the three entertainers spent more time posing and moaning about the guests (including kids!!) than actually entertaining. The kids club in the afternoon wasn't too bad but a bit too much emphasis on art and crafts rather than play.
The staff were mostly very nice, apart from one guy on reception who must have been brought in from a field somewhere as he "didn't know" the answer/ cost of/ location of anything in the hotel or the resort!! The bar staff were friendly and the food there was very nice. Restaurant food I can't really comment on as apart from the aforementioned freebie we didn't return but was ok on that occasion.
Our main gripe with this place was the noise late at night and into the early hours. Now don't get me wrong, we like a good night out but when you come back from your night out at 12.30 or 1am and the gangs of Norwegians, Swedish and English lads think they are in a club in Ibiza on their balcony until 4am, and also running through the hotel kicking doors, then you tend to get a bit annoyed!! Didn't like to complain but had to and were told that security would deal with it. However, there isn't any security and it wasn't until well into our second week that the manager intervened and then all the noise stopped by 12.30. I think other guests threatened to call the police to have it dealt with and he had no choice at that stage.
Overall the hotel is nice, with large comfortable apartments but I don't think they should advertise it as family friendly when they are willing to take in groups of lads/girls who are only interested in annoying everyone else and causing hassle. Palma Nova itself is a nice spot with some great restaurants, including Blue Bar and Florida, but when I come back with my family I won't be staying at Rosa del Mar.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in a block with other families.

Arrived early hours of the morning and hated our room, studio on ground floor next to kids playground. You had no privacy and felt so vunrable it was untrue, anyone could climb onto the balcony and the maid neva locked the patio windows when she cleaned. The deco was so old it was like a seventies caravan and we had ants in the bathroom. The hotel was kept clean but they dont provide any ash trays for smokers and that cTreates a mess with fag butts .There was no outside pool bar , i think its been closed all year. We stayed self catering so cant comment on the food, Florida cafe does cheapest and nicest cooked breakfest 250euros . I always stay 3 or 4star but this hotel wasnt a patch on those Rosa del mar should be a 2star. There was no life guard and my daughter had to lift a four year old from the pool who was in difficulty. Not enough sun beds you only get one if you put your towels out at midnight like we did. Lovely pool but in need of a good scrub (tiles very grimey) On our last day we had a night flight so asked to use the courtesy and wish i hadnt bothered as it was a floodied mess and was swimming in water and shower was crap, beta off using public toilet. All in all the hotel was ok if you dont know any different and NO i wouldnt bother going back.

4 ladies in their late 20's looking for some sun and a chiilled out holiday and the resort and wether were perfect. the hotel was nice enough and clean but clearly did not have enough sun loungers to accomodate even half of the guests so straight to the beach we went as our rooms would not be ready until after lunch. We got back to the hotel and were directed to our room which we initially thought must be a mistake. The room was advertised to sleep 4 adults and the photos shown by both tour operator (alpha rooms) and hotel showed a separate bedroom with 2 beds and then a lounge area with two proper beds. This was not what we got! 2 proper beds, 1 sofa bed and what can only be described as a mattress on the floor in a room measuring 12ft by 12ft. Needless to say we complained and were shown their sister hotel down the road, and although the room was bigger, stepping over used condoms in the stairwell was not what we were seeking in terms of our holiday social activities! I would like to say that the manager was apologetic and helpful but unfortunately we were told that no-one else has ever complained and they never get 4 adults booking one room which if that is the case it should not be advertised that way.

Stayed for 5 days a week ago. On arrival a large spanish man with a moustache greeted us and informed us we couldn't check in until 1.30. He had the manner of a pig, ignorant as possible and kept looking after Spaniards before us. Went up and found the balcony door lock broken. Asked them to fix it. They said it was but wasn't and had to ask twice more before it was finally done. We booked through the travel republic website and in all the sites it said the hotel had air conditioning. If it had it was only in the tiny lobby, rooms were absolutely melting at night. Asked for a sea view or pool room view when booking. Got one looking out at a tree with dirty underpants and pizza boxes stuck in it. Dont get me started on the shower. From luke warm to red hot in half a second (not nice with sunburnt legs). Couldn't get near the pool during our stay. Which brings me to the few good points. Location; its a v short walk to the beach and is in a fairly quiet area with the madness of Magaluf nightlife less than 10 mins walk away. So the best of both worlds. Room was cleaned regularly and does the job fine if your not fussy. By the way, they have a strict policy of not allowing any food or drink from outside the hotel anywhere the pool area, another joke. All in all, loved the location and resort but couldn't help but feel if i was spanish or even looked spanish we might have been treated better. Wouldn't say stay away from it but do make sure you know what you want before booking

Had a great time. Any problem dealt swiftly by reception...
Room was in noisy section - moved following morning.
Balcony lock loose - fixed immediately.
Air Con not on - fixed immediately.

Our only complaint was due to lack of sunbeds - which ARE reserved early morning.. i.e. 7am!

Studio self catering room was larger than expected for two adults and two teenagers.
Brilliant location.
Lovely cleaning staff.
Two mins from beach.
Very centrally located.

Contact me if you need any further info,

Room Tip: Ground floor on the right as you walk in seems to be the noisy end. We got moved to the other end...

Just returned from rosa del mar and we had a really good time.
We were greeted by a friendly and helpful member of staff that spoke good english and he checked us in very quickly, the staff always said hello in the morning on the way to breakfast and in the evening.
We stayed in one of the apartments on the top floor, it was nice and spacious, clean and safe, but the air conditioning was quite bad and it broke down in the whole of the hotel one day but they had this fixed very quickly, we had a living area with two sofa beds and one bedroom with two single beds but be warned these are not very comfortable (like everytime you move it sounds like all the springs are broken sort of uncomfortable!), a bathroom and a kitchenette. Two of the lightbulbs went in the apartment but less than 3 hours later they were fixed. We had a really big balcony with a pool view which was nice, we didn't get to much noise at this part, yes you had the odd group coming in at 4 in the morning and decide to slam all the doors and yes you do get groups of boys jumping in the pool at 5:00 but this didn't happen every day, and they do quiet down but what do you expect when you are staying in a hotel near magaluf?

The location is really good it's a short stroll down to the beach, a supermarket down the road called bip had everything you need, there is a santander nearly opposite the entrance and there is a newsagents opposite that, it is also close to the magaluf strip but not to close that you can hear loud music.
Western water park is about five minuites away, a free bus does operate at 10:20 outside bip but we got a taxi to beat the crowds as the park opens at 10:00, this cost us about €5 each way also the house of katmandu is within walking distance.

The pool area could do with a bit of improvement as some of the tiles are missing and the floor gets extreamly hot. You may get a letter when you first check in saying all the rules of the hotel, it says you can't reserve sunbeds but everybody does and if you don't reserve them by about 8:00 then you don't have a chance!

We stayed half board and too be honest I was dreading the food after many negative reviews but it was excellent! Breakfast was the same every day but it had everything you would want so there was no point in changing it, it included a full english breakfast, pastries, juice, tea, fruit and cold meats and cheese. Everyday for dinner they had a type of meat, fish, pasta, chips, rice, a special and lots of different cold items, but it was really varied each night. One night we had sword fish, spring rolls, rice with beef, meatballs, tagletelli and cheese sause and some of the cold things included brie, tuna and sweetcorn, egg mayonaise salad, potato salad and then they had a selection of breads, and the desserts were always nice. They had jelly, mousse, ice cream, cakes, rice pudding and every fruit you can imagine.

The entertainment team were excellent, they made our stay very special. In the morning they would host a cocktail game (things like guess how many balls are in the cup or throw a ping pong ball into cups), then at 12:00 they did aqua gym, then in the afternoon at 15:00 mini club (painting, colouring, crafts, games) then at 4:00 games like football, pingpong, tennis, schojen (sliding little wooden rocks into holes), water polo and shooting. The entertainment in the evening could be better but they make such an effort it becomes really enjoyable.

Finally I would just like to say a massive thank to Oana who i know will be reading this, she works really hard and is always smiling and is helpful. Thank you for making our stay even better and good luck in the future.
