after reading previous reviews on this hotel,i was a bit worried, but it was'nt like people had made it out to be.The 1st impression of the hotel was good, friendly reception staff where polite and helpful. When we booked our holiday,i'd asked for a high floor with either pool or sea view,we had a sea view which was fantastic, our balcony overlooked the Palma Nova bay( room 601) .Our room had a double bed with a hard matress and a single bed and still plenty of room. The beds were made every day and they were changed twice a week, the towels were changed everyday if you put the dirty ones in the bath. The maids too were friendly.Meal times :- the breakfast was probably the best, there were English sausage and bacon, different cereals ,lots of fresh fruit. At lunch time ,there was plenty of salads,2 different soups, rice dishes french fries, meat dishes that looked like stews. At evening 2 soups, lots of salads, sometimes there would be beef & pork on the hotplate cut by the chef ,then the next night there would'nt be any meats. It got busy in the restaurant at night so it was best to find a table before you got your meal,Cutlery was a bit sparse at night and you had to go and find some cutlery. There was red and white wine on tap ,and fizzy drinks for the kids, you just helped yourself. The entertainment at night was the usual hotel entertainment, bingo ,kids disco bird show, snake show.Reuben and Sally and Stein were brillant, they kept the kids entertained day & night. There is 3 pools,1 main one,2 childrens pools 1 of the childrens pools has got few slides which was good.To get a seat in the hotel at night you need to be in there for about 8pm.The hotel is on a hill but its not that bad unless you are in a wheelchair then its not advisable to go to this hotel. From the hotel it's about 5 mins walk down to Palma Nova beach or 10 mins to Magaluf beach. There were hen & stag parties here but we did'nt hear any noise at night (im a light sleeper)The reception staff were very helpful as i needed a dentist, they sorted one out for me and even offered us a taxi to take me there. If people dont like being were there are children then dont book a holiday thats for families and has a childrens club.If the food were better i would go back but we were on an all inclusive and it was repetitive for 2 weeks

Room Tip: sea view with high floor or facing the pools withn

We stayed here in June with the family. Stayed here many times before but the last being in July 2004. Torrenova Marina is a perfect holiday for families, so yes loads of screaming kids :), although there was a mix of people in the hotel, and the odd few large groups, who didn’t cause no trouble at all.

The hotel is clean throughout and well maintain. Entertaining is brilliant all through the day till the evening with the hotels own staff, and Thomson and Thomas Cook Reps.

Rooms - Basic and clean. Kettle at a charge- 12 euro 1 week, 20 euro 2 week, bit shocking for an decent hotel especially where many babies are staying, and TV remote deposit required. Pillows are a joke, make sure you ask the maids for two.

Food – Not brilliant, not vile. Wide selection. Different themed nights. Some nights were good, others weren't

Palma Nova beach about 5-10mins walk down a hill and Magaluf about 10-15minutes for good night life. Closest supermarket- over the road.

We had booked this hotel as our daughter had stayed here before it went All Inclusive and had highly recommended it.

Basically it is a lovelly hotel and staff are all friendly and the food choices are pretty much as one would expect. However, most of the time the hot food was barely warm as not many of the heated ranges were turned on. As a result, food cooled quickly and the plates were not warmed up as they sat in there pop up holders. Plates, cutlery and glasses were often not properly cleaned.

Best suited for those with children as there were loads of them to contend with which surprised me at this time of year.

We were lucky enough to be able to book an eleven night stay which suited us best. The down side of this is that it frees up 3 and 4 night stays which encourage the stag and hen parties into the hotel and there were plenty of those too.

Towards the end of our stay, the hotel was over run by 16yr old spanish students who had been allowed to book rooms in celebration of the end of school ?? I don't think this would happen in the uk.

They were drinking, screaming, running around, pushing each other in the pool with drinks and throwing full drinks over each other totally un challenged. AND THE SPANISH COMPLAIN ABOUT THE YOUNG BRITS!!

Yet we were challenged on our last day for making a roll each to take on our journey home?

Not for us as a mature couple I'm afraid and I would not stay at this hotel again.

Don't get me wrong, like I said, lovely for families with young kids.

My advice would be:1) Just stick to seven and fourteen day bookings to avoid the stag and hen do's and club 14 to 16 students. 2) Get the food temperature sorted out. 3) Quality check the cleanliness of your cutlery and crockery. 4) Serve beer in larger glasses to avoid queues at the bar. 5) Set up a seperate servery for kids to get their drinks and ice creams.

Please note that this review is from the point of view of a 50+ couple who were recommended to visit this hotel by probably the most leading tour operator in the UK.

We arrived during heavy rain on Thursday 2nd June in the late morning. We walked into the hotel reception and the din was absolutely horrendous. There was music blaring out all over the hotel and a couple of hundred children running round playing games. We did understand when we booked that we were starting our holiday at the end of the half term break but never expected anything like this. It was impossible to speak to the reception staff due to the noise.

There is not one quiet area either inside or outside the hotel. The pool areas are lovely but totally designed for young families which is fine but as I have said we were sold the holiday as being suitable for couples. I think the whole place is fantastic for young children until the STAG and HEN parties arrive! Thursdays to Sundays apparently. We were woken on 3 consective nights around 4 to 5 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep due to the noise from these parties - felt sorry for people with young children who were also disturbed. These groups were also sometimes a bit boisterous around the pools so some of the younger children couldn't play safely. There is also the added thumping music all day long around the pool area with absolutely no escape from this. We went out and about or to the beach every day.

As I have said there is no quiet area at all in the hotel as the design of it seems to allow noise to echo all around the place. The restaurant (more like a chain store cafeteria) is no exception. The food was okay and quite edible with a reasonable choice although nothing was ever hot at best warm. Even the coffees/teas from the bar are not hot. There are also cold drinks including beer, water, wine, coke, fanta etc available on draft at lunch and dinner. Hot drinks are available at breakfast. The restaurant as is on the whole hotel spotelessly clean but as I have said like a cafeteria. The tables and chairs are plastic. There are no table clothes even for dinner and only ever paper napkins. This is advertised as a 4T hotel but locally 3 star. We looked in other 3 star hotels nearby and the tables for dinner were always properly set with linen tableclothes and napkins, wine glasses etc. In the Marina Torrenova you often have to look for your own cutlery and serviettes.

The bedrooms are fine if basic and again spotlessly clean. The beds have very thin lumpy mattresses but I got used to mine! Bathrooms are fine too.

The entertainment is geared towards young children. There are sometimes entertainers suitable for adults but they cannot be heard properly for the kids running round. On our first night the children's entertainment finished at 11.45 p.m. which I think is too late for any young child. We and most of the other couples in the hotel went out every night thus we didn't take advantage of our All Inclusive package. In fact we literally only eat and slept in the hotel. Most times we had lunch out and on two occasions our evening meal out.

I am not criticising the hotel. It is what it is - a hotel suitable for young families and nothing more. It is just like Butlins. My argument is that we were sold the holiday as being suitable for us it clearly was not. Avoid at all costs during the summer months if you are over 30 and travelling without children!

All in all this hotel is definitely NOT for couples during the summer months. I believe it is open all year round so things may be very different then.

Me & my husband (both in our forties) have just returned from a week here and generally enjoyed it, although it was evident that couples are definitely in the minority here and my one piece of advice to anyone is to think twice about going here if you want a peaceful, relaxing week. It was hectic day and night. It reminded me of the Sol Tordos but without Fred Flinstone.
We are not overly fussy eaters but by Thursday we were eating out. You're laughing if you like chips with everything (even roast chicken and carrots?). The food was hot but the choice was poor and there didn't seem enough staff to clear the tables at the rate they were being left full of used plates.
As to the pool/sunbathing situation - the doors to the pool area are unlocked at 8.30am sharp and if you want your spot, you have to be in that queue but beware of those behind you who will literally sprint past you to get their bed. There are plenty of sunbeds but the majority of areas are in the shade until around 10.30am so on your first day, its best to suss out where to lay. A lot of areas are in the shade at some point during the day.
By mid afternoon, the main area in front of the pool, people are packed in like sardines on the sunbeds so we avoided that area, although you won't find any quiet places to lie anywhere.
Beware of the selfish sunbathers (you know who you are), who set up two lots of beds - one to catch the sun first thing and another four beds over the other side so they can move in the afternoon.
We emailed the hotel before we went and requested a high floor and pool view and got exactly that so its always worth a try. I wouldn't have wanted any lower than the fifth floor as we could still hear the music from the bar until late.
With regards to the bar, you do sometimes have a bit of a wait and I imagine it would be a lot longer in high season. You can order three drinks at a time and not two as a previous reviewer stated.
The hotel's in a good location but that hill is a bit of a pain on the way back up. I wouldn't imagine anyone with a mobility scooter or wheelchair would be able to get up and down as the pavements are very uneven and narrow in places and it's a bit dodgy even crossing the road as they drive like lunatics down there.
All in all its an ok hotel but wouldn't go again because the noise was a bit much.

Room Tip: Email the hote in advance

We just got back from the Marina Torrenova, it was better than what i thought it would be with it been a big hotel.it had free anti bacterial gel on the doors to the restaurant of which we all used, It had good food, a great entertainment team, a brilliant kids club i didnt have any doubts about letting my kids age 4 and 5 go in it and i am very particular about who looks after my kids, they loved it and they were always entertained. The playground and the splashpool was fantastic we met lots of nice families. My husband loved the adult rifle shooting and waterpolo (abit of male bonding lol ) we will be going back to this hotel in the future im checking out prices already.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view we asked and got one

Just spent 2 weeks in the Torrenova marina. And had a great time. It's a fantastic family hotel. It has 3 pool areas, 2 of those are mainly for the kids. 2 play areas, And great kids clubs.
All the staff work very hard, And do a good job. The manager was always about for a chat, And if he was in his office the door was always open.
Hats off to Rueben and stein who do the activatives during the day for the adults. Had great fun with them. And a night out to watch Barcelona beat Man u. And Stein offered to bring my wife to the bar we was in after the bingo.
The rooms are basic but clean and tidy, We had 3 rooms and no problems.
The food did get a bit boring after 2 weeks. but think it always does. But there was always plenty and it was hot.
There is a bit off a hill down to the beach, But dont think it was that bad, we were up and down it a couple of times a day pushing prams or carring kids.
The only bad thing i can think of was the fact that there was only 1 bar. The staff never stopped. But i hate queing.
Overall a great family hotel,
