My friend and I spent a week in the Son Matias Hotel 14th-21st August. The hotel is right on the beach which is why we chose it. The staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We were allocated a room on the 6th floor which gave us an amazing view all round the bay, fantastic. The room was a bit smaller than we were expecting but we were only sleeping there and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The food is the best I have had in a hotel in Spain, so much variety. There is a carvery every night with lots of other choices too. The salad bar is so fresh and plentiful. There is daytime entertainment during the day. Poor Kellie was on her own and worked so hard. There is entertainment every night and is of a very high standard. This is an adults only hotel and the guests are UK only so everyone was very friendly. We were sorry to go home but I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would certainly return. Liz and Mags.

Room Tip: We were in room 604 and there was no noise at all at night. We overlooked the beach but I think all...

We are just home from two wonderful weeks at the Son Matias. Every room is sea and beach facing with an ample balcony so you cannot go wrong The suites are a little larger than the standard rooms and some have facilities for the disabled. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the service is second to none. The food is a very good blend of Spanish and English cuisine with something for everyone. Kelly who is the entertainment staff member is absolutely brilliant and deserves significant praise.

Spent ten nights here at the beginning of August. Rooms clean and comfortable with fantastic views over the bay. Lovely staff, the restaurant was comfortable, you didn't feel like you were in a canteen like some hotels, the food choices were excellent, even the fussiest of eaters would find it hard to complain. Vegetarian choices available also. We went into the entertainment a few times and found it to be good. Location excellent, nice promenade to wonder along after our meal at night with plenty of bars and restaurants to stop for a coffee or cocktail. Would definitely recommend especially if you want an adults only hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for high room at the front, though all rooms have sea view.

I stayed here for a week with my girlfriend and could not have been happier. This is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in abroad.

We arrived at the hotel at 3:30 in the morning and was still greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome. The reception area looked lovely. Spacious, clean, bright, comfortable seating and boasted two large flat screen TVs on the wall.

A quick check in and we went off to our room on the third floor. Reasonable sized room with a good amount of wardrobe space, lovely and comfortable beds, a desk with tea/coffee/kettle, a fridge (with a litre carton on milk and two bottles of water inside free of charge) a standard bathroom and when the sun came up in the morning, the best view ever!

The dinning room was well spaced out, tables and chairs not squashed closely together, well lit and very nicely presented.
Breakfast was fantastic with a very good selection. Your usual cooked English breakfast, a huge display of fresh fruit, dried fruit, cereals, yogurts, cheeses, breads, jams, American-style pancakes, pastries & juices.
The evening meal was even better!
Starting with a pot of lovely fresh soup, a fantastic salad bar, breads again, a very good selection of hot food with something for every one, various vegetables and sauces and the chefs grill which was either a roast joint of meat or special cuts of meat. For dessert I really don't know where to start. the selection was out of this world. Firstly you had your selection of fruit again, then moving up there was three types of ice cream to choose from and it was proper ice cream you helped yourself to from the tub, not the usual tiny pots of bland flavours. Three sauces to choose from along with wafers and chocolate sprinkle toppings. The cold section had at least eight things to choose from each night and a hot section with two or three things to choose from.

The pool area was fantastic, a nice sized pool, plenty of sun-beds (not your standard white plastic things either, proper loungers with a cushion top) if you were lucky enough, round wicker beds for two to share right by the pool and a lovely warmed jacuzzi. Not to sound like I have anything against children but with this being an adults only hotel, the pool area was so peaceful and you could even go down for a lounger at 11:30 and still have a handful left. And speaking of the loungers, this is the first hotel I have ever stayed in where they DO enforce the towel on bed policy. On the hour a member of staff would come around and mark unoccupied beds, an hour later if they were still unoccupied, towels off.

The activities through the day were organised by Kelly & Jess. From indoor games, to water volleyball, to quizzes, there was always something to do.
The evening entertainment wasn't really our cup of tea but that's not to say it wasn't good or enjoyable, it was just our taste. Members of staff were always floating around so you could order drinks without having to go to the bar, the drinks were reasonably priced and of good quality and also had a different drinks promotion every day.

I would like to like to give a personal thank you to Susan on the bar who took care of us most of the times we came down for a meal or drink. Very polite and excellent service. And a thank you to Kelly who was always at hand through the day and nothing was too much trouble and of course, a huge thank you to the rest of the staff for making our stay a happy and enjoyable one.

10 out of 10.
