Accommodation was basic and the pool is not really anything more than a large bath but as the beach is five mins away its no problem. The hotel is just right for anyone visiting who doesn't want to blow all their money on accommodation. Rooms were clean and tidy. Reception was the most helpful I have ever come across with loads of info on the best places to go etc. The breakfast was good , only niggle was you had to buy the drinks to go with breakfast but only a small niggle. Don't go if you are looking for a quiet night as it is a bit of a chav magnet but it is fine for a base to explore the island.

Room Tip: Avoid the Gil part of the complex if you dont like noisy.

Me and my boyfriend booked this hotel as a last minute get away with his parents who had already booked. We did the booking seperately through travel republic and ryanair and paid for bed and breakfast for 4 nights at a really great price for August. When we were on our way to the hotel, to be completely honest, we werent expecting too much as the price we paid was so little and having seen mixed reviews on here from others we were slightly aprehensive. When we arrived we were thrilled to find a nicely kept little hotel in what seemed to be a nice quiet area. We were welcomed by a lovely and friendly english lady on reception who told us all we needed to know and even gave us the option of where we wanted our room due to some 'roudy' guests staying. As we wanted to be near the bar we chose to have the room in the main hotel rather than the annex next door. Once we got into our room we were even more chuffed to find it clean, tidy and nicely kept with a nice new bathroom. It really was a pleasant surprise and again couldnt believe what we had gotten for the price. The rooms were cleaned every day and you could even have new towels everyday if you wanted which doesnt happen in some fancy 4* hotels, it was great.
The area of Palma Nova the hotel was in was great, just a short walk along the main road and down a slight hill was the beach and the main front full of some gorgeous restaurants and bars. The ice cream parlour just along from the hotel was amazing! We ate out every night and found meals and drinks to be really reasonably priced and there were some good deals to be had. We had some lovely meals and there were some restaurants that we didnt end up going to which were packed every night and seemed really popular like the sushi bar and indian just off the front. We thought that this end of Palma Nova was beautiful and much prefered it compared to the further you walked towards Magaluf, which got more tacky. We walked into magaluf one night for some drinks in bars and it was a fair way but a nice stroll, stopping for a bevvie every now and again was good. We got a taxi back for 6 euro aswell.
The breakfast at the hotel was lovely and the cook was fab. Whoever said she was a misery must have been rude to her and deserved to be rude back to! We loved her and she seemed to appreciate simple things like being polite asking for our breckies and tidying up after ourselves once finished. The bar staff were also great, especially a geordie chap who worked the night shift, who was a laugh. Drinks were a good price in the hotel too at around 2 euro 50 for a delish glass of sangria and 2 pints of beer for 4 euro. They served 24 hours and also had friges full of english drinks and snacks like baguettes and pot noodles for late night munchies.
We loved every minute of the holiday and the Gabarda were fab. If you are looking for a cheap and cheerful holiday close to everything you need then this is perfect. No need for hotel luxury when your a short walk away from all the restaurants you could possibly want.
Thankyou to all the staff who made us feel so welcome, we are definately going to be coming back :-)

Room Tip: Room 102 was a good one as it was on the back so no glaring sun on it all day which meant it was coo...

I have just returned from a short stay in this hotel and suffice to say, I found Hotel Garbada to be the most friendliest and atmospheric hotel I have ever stayed in. All the staff go out of their way to assist you and give you advice on where to go in Palma. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. Will most definitely be going back in the near future.

Ok this 2* hotel is not the RITZ but you can not get any where that the staff are so friendly and helpful and funny.
This is our third visit here and we think its fab The Gabarda is a lovely place The GIL next door is a little unkept but we only sleep in the room and The Martinez apartments are lovely and clean.
The bar men are great company and chrissy the irish cook is so friendly and the food is great
At the end of the day if you hae high expectations why do you expect to pay the cheap price to stay here
dont slag the place off just cus you cant enjoy the place for what it is
Excellent location, lovely staff and we will be back next year again for our break xxxxx

Room Tip: gabarda rooms lovely Martinez apartments fab, Gil more like hostal accomadation but cheap and clean

Having read the reviews before I booked - I decided to take a chance as it was only for a week. It was the biggest surprise ever!!!!!!!

Not onlty were ALL the staff the friendliest I have had in many many years, but the hotel was spotless. I would certainly return - and from what I heard from the other guests - they would too. Its also an ideal location.

Thank you to everyone at the Gabarda for a lovely holiday - you made it for me

We arrived to be told there was a problem with our rooms BUT they upgraded us to the apartment/villas down the road at no extra cost (part of the complex they own, stay at 1 and use all 3 complexes facilities). We were offered the choice of the rooms or the apartment next day. We chose the apartment.

The staff are 2nd to none. Seriously Ive stayed in many hotels both in and out of Spain
and these guys made the hotel what it was. So much personality and so helpful. The reception staff will bend over backwards to help you. Even as far as locking our safety deposit box key in the main safe for extra safety!

The food is delicious and cheap and the cook is superb, really nice lady

The bar is open 24/7 and the bar staff and security are a great laugh !

The hotel is cheap but does not take anything away from the quality. The place is spotless.

As stated the staff pushed this hotel for us. We would deffo return just for the guys working there

I booked a four night stay in Majorca as a present for my Fiance's birthday, with the idea of trying out the clubs and getting some sun. Again like others after reading reviews on here this hotel seemed ok. Don't get me wrong, we fully expected basic and noisy accomodation due to where it was but this hotel was well below standards. Our room felt more like a sleazy hostel room than a hotel! On first impressions it was ok, the recieption staff were lovely but when we were showed to our room, i nearly cried! the beds were minging, mine felt damp and the headboards were full of grease and god knows what! The bathroom wasn't filthy but the shower was nothing but a trickle of water, the door didnt lock. The fan was useless so really hot at night, and nowhere to keep water cool so when thirsty in the night we had to drink warm water. The breakfast looked repulsive, it smelt foul and they had even watered down the beans. On departure we discovered that at some point our door had been kicked in and the frame repaired with a few wood screws and as we couldnt get a late check out room had to shower in the hotel shower which was full of other peoples hair and dirty plasters. If you have any standards at all dont stay here!!!!
