“Great cycling vacation”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

We stayed at the ponent mar for 10 days and rode with the stephen Roche cycling camp. The hotel was great. We had a beautiful ocean view. The cycling camp was very well organized. There was two guides per group and a support van that took care of food and water. The guides were very good and the bike mechanics were great. There were 4 levels of riding so you could pick your pain each day. The roads were incredible. The cars seemed very patient. The weather was great. The only negative was the buffet that got a little boring after a few days.

We will return for several weeks next year.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the beach front room.

We stayed here for a week in April and booked a deluxe sea view apartment. It was lovely but there were a few little things that were annoying. There was wi-fi in public areas but had to pay for it for the rooms - Really!!!!! This is one of our pet hates in the 21st Century!! The views were amazing but the furniture was probably a little dated. We did enjoy our stay but try and have a room on the top floor as the noise from people above us what the most annoying thing all week.

Room Tip: Sea view is a must! Try to get a room on the 4th floor so you don't have people above you scrap...

Stayed here for 5 nights from 14th April. In general found these to be good apartments.

Rooms - We started in room 413, which is right next to reception and has a balcony looking out at the car park entrance. This room was very noisy at night, both from reception and from the entertainment and also from noisy guest coming and going at the front. After 2 nights, we asked to move.

The reception staff were very helpful, didn't make a fuss or try to get us to stay in our room and we were moved to room 509, which we found to be much quieter than the previous room.

The 2 rooms we had during our stay were both very clean and I couldn't fault them.

Food - Only had breakfast on our last day, so can't really comment on food. The breakfast was hot, good options and food generally what I would expected to find, nothing exceptional, but it was fine. We did eat at the pool bar a couple of times and the food there was very good.

Pool Area - Pool area has recently been renovated, with lovely decking newly put down. The views from the pool area are fantastic.

Location - The apartments are a short walk, although up a slight hill, from the beach and the shops and restaurants. I would say it was ideally located for everything the resort has to offer.

Entertainment - During our stay there were not many young kids and so my 5 year old was a little lost. She wanted to go to miniclub so we let her and even though she was the only one there, she seemed to enjoy it. This was because of Angela, the entertainment rep. She was very good with our daughter. There was not many kids there atall, certainly none that were the same age as our daughter and there was therefore no minidisco at night, which was a big disappointment for our little one.

The shows at night were ok, nothing special but nothing that I would criticise greatly either.

All in all I would go back and stay here, however it would need to be at a time when there were more kids from the UK for our daughter to interact with and so there would be a minidisco.

We stayed here for a couple of nights this April while visiting Majorca and found this aparthotel convenient and pleasant. It has a good location just a short walk from the nearest beach, shops and local restaurants. There is a lovely walk along the seafront, all the way to Magaluf if you have the stamina, but our kids couldn't face it! The hotel itself has pleasant rooms, although they are rather basic. We had rooms on level 1 and we had interconnecting doors which was ideal for a family as you could open them up into a large suite! The rooms are fairly spacious with two single beds and a double pull out sofabed. I found the beds comfortable - not too hard. There is a microwave, hob, toaster, kettle, sink and fridge so you can prepare your own food if you choose to do so. We only made snacks and ate out but it could easily be done as the kitchen is reasonably well equipped. The bathroom is really nice with an excellent powerful shower and free shampoo/conditioner/body milk and soap. The only downside to the room was that the fridge was very noisy during the night and it woke me up a few times. There is a fairly large outdoor pool with sunbeds around it, although it was a little early in the season for us to use it. We did use the indoor pool though, which was still pretty cold and had an unpleasant smell on the day we used it - a kind of drains smell. There is a small supermarket, a beauty salon and a nice bar area where they have entertainment on. You must see the Flamenco dancers, they were amazing. There is free wifi in the lobby area and you can get it in parts of the bar too. I think if you want to use the wifi in your room you have to buy credit but we didn't look into that. The staff were friendly and courteous and allowed us to check in early as well as granting our request for interconnecting rooms. This hotel is obviously popular with a range of nationalities as we heard several languages being spoken. It seems particular popular with cyclists - we saw lots of them heading out and about in their cycling gear. The hotel also has a reasonable sized car park so ideal if you're hiring a car. For local shops there is a small Eroski a few streets away just off the seafront or for better choice, there is a large Mercadona just off the main road a few streets behind the property. It is up a bit of a hill and it is quite steep to get up and down to the seafront so be aware if you are less mobile. We visited a couple of restaurants on the seafront nearby and they were good but a bit expensive for me - 10 Euros for a pizza or a salad. If you want a cheaper meal, take the long walk along the seafront towards Torrenova where you can pick up the same meal for about 7 Euros.

Room Tip: If you get a room on floor 1 you have a large grassy area outside your balcony that the kids can run...

This hotel has a stephen Roche cycling training camp available. Bikes all carbon fiber and superb organization of rides to cater to road cycling in a beautiful part of the world. Food at the hotel buffet was super fresh for huge buffet breakfasts and dinners. The rooms are basic, and you could cook if you liked. Rooms also have balconies. Highly recommend for an active holiday. There are also washing facilities. Fellow cyclists also recommended the massages.

Rooms are basic and a throw back from the 70s. Very disappointed as hotel was supposed to be 4*. Not enough plug sockets and the ones you could find were down the back of the tv which you had to pull out from wall. Toilet was right next to bath which made it awkward to get in and out. Views were great and the pool area was lovely. Would not call it 4* unless in a refurbished room, which were lovely.

Room Tip: Unless you upgrade to a refurbished room you will be disappointed. The rooms are a throw back from t...
