This was the first time we didnt book Thomson. We booked solely on tripadvisor reviews. This hotel is so close to the airport, we arrived on a late flght and were booked in quickly by reception staff. We had a pool view, No 3201. The staff left Cava, fruit, cheese, assorted meats and salads and water for us as we had missed dinner. The apartment is a good size with a kitchen with all utensils.
The pools are fabulous, our kids 5 and 10 loved the pirate pool. No problem getting a sunbed at 9.30am. The kids entertainers are friendly and work hard. Kids can come and go as they please out of kids club, ours came by and chatted at our sunbeds and then went back in again. The childrens' entertainers are brilliant and work so hard.
Food and drinks are excellent. Cocktails made there and then. The menus for snacks and drinks are excellent, branded drinks, tex mex for lunch. the waiters are friendly and helpful, they work so hard. Our kids had ice cream sundaes til they came out their ears - loved them! We loved breakfast, you must have freshly made pancakes and eggs for breakfast delicious!
The entertainment at night was good, especially(surprisingly) the cabaret acts!! Great fun!
There are not a lot of British people here, there is no drunkiness or loud noise. The familes we met from Ireland and the rest of Europe were lovely. We met some great people. Everyone was family orientated and civilised, it was excellent. I wish we had had more than BBC world on the flat screen tv, maybe a movie channel or a cartoon channel for the kids, just while we were getting changed. I cant fault anything, the maids are excellent and the room was great.
This is the first place that I could honestly day I would go back to, I would also happily try another Viva hotel somewhere in Majorca, the standard is very high.
P.S. The house of Katmandu (which is upside down) is great! thanks to reception staff for recommending it.
I hope I'll be back soon!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view, it's worth it!

Just back from a week in Viva Palma Nova. Family of two kids, aged two and five. Had a great time. Apartment very clean. Good sized and comfortable. Kids club is great. Pool area is super. Babies pool has a parasol so its shaded. Pirate boat splash pool is great and the whole area is spotless. Sun loungers are comfortable and plentiful. The mini disco every evening was a huge success. There is a fantastic play area with slides, bouncy castle, trampoline etc. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Library, sauna, gym, WIFI, cots etc are all available for no additional charge. Will definitely stay here again. The only thing to be aware of is the hotel supermarket is very very expensive. The Eroski supermarket is less than a ten min walk away and is much cheaper and has a good variety. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a family holiday. Well worth the money. Enjoy!

Stayed at viva palmanova for 10 nights at the end of June, start of July 2011. The hotel itself was fab. Our room was cleaned every day. Stayed self catering and ate at the snack bar a few times for lunch. Decided not to go all inclusive as we wanted to try a variety of local restaraunts. All incl looked very good though with a huge variety to choose from. Pools were fantastic and the kids club was great for our 6 year old. He had a ball. On the downside our 13 year old was a bit bored because of the language barrier and the lack of english speaking teens his own age. Good 4 star quality hotel but more suited to kids under 10.

Stayed for a week in July. Very impressed with the facilities, a lot of thought and planning appears to have been put into making something available for most people, including the very young. The giant parasol over the toddlers play pool is such a good idea to shade and protect the youngsters from direct sun, with sunbeds around the pool so that their parents can keep an eye on them. Then there's the "up to 12 years" pool for older children in addition to the larger "free for all" pool. For those that want something more peaceful and some solitude, just through a gate is the 18 years+ pool, here the tranquillity is amazing with shaded and unshaded proper sunbeds, a self controlled jacuzzi - a perfect place to unwind. No wonder it's called "oasis".
The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. My daughter acquired a throat infection whilst there and the reception staff called a doctor who came within the hour (be aware though that the EHIC did not cover the doctors visit and it cost 75euro plus medication).
The daytime activities are varied with something happening most of the time, the entertainment staff work really hard. The evenings entertainment starts at 8pm when it's the children's hour with a lot of involvement of children. The main entertainment starts at 9pm for an hour. The entertainment planned is posted in the main foyer.
We had a pool view overlooking the stage so we could see the entertainment from our balcony. The down side of this though is if you have young children or a baby, the noise could keep them awake past their bedtime = a tired, irritable and cant get to sleep child.
There was also some music played for a short while after the entertainment finished which was ok if you liked the music, but an irritation if you didn't or wanted to get some sleep.
The food was plentiful and very varied with a lot of effort going into the presentation and serving. There is a dress code for the evenings of no shorts although 3/4 length shorts seemed to be worn a lot, without issue.
We stayed half board and any drinks at dinner were charged and paid for there and then, which can avoid any end of holiday shocks. The bottle of wine that we had only drunk half of one night, was recorked and labelled with our room number and returned for us to have the remaining half the following night.
The air conditioning in the rooms is individually controlled and will only work when the doors and windows are fully closed due to magnets being placed on the door and window frames proving closure to the A/C controller. Therefore you cannot have the A/C working if you are sitting on the balcony enjoying a drink, unless somebody remains in the room to open the balcony door to let you back in.
We will have no hesitation in staying at the Viva PalmaNova on our next stay in this area of Mallorca. A very enjoyable stay, thank you to all the staff.

Stayed here for ten days in july in a privelige apartment and found it to be very clean and roomy for the three of us , reception and check in very quick and helpful for directions extra. pool was brilliant and most times of the day you could find a lounger so no early mornigs to bag one ( and there was loads of germans there) we were all inclusive and plenty of choice for meals even our fussy daughter found something to eat and the sweets were brilliant
Our only complaint was the lack of english channels on the tv especially a decent news channels
waiting staff wer excellent especially TEE TEE he was very attentive and always remembered what you drank
entertainment was a bit of a hit and miss with a few very good acts and some not so but there is lots of other stuff to do in the resort
shop on site well stocked and very handy
magaluf just at the bottom of the road and turn right it always smelled of bleach when we went during the day but got good shops
pirates is a must see. we been three times and still enjoyed it
marineland just brilliant with the dolphins and you can get up close photo for twenty euros ,
golf fantasia is a brilliant day out and easy walked from the hotel you can choose how many courses you want to do
we would not take privelege aparment again as we spent most time beside the pool to keep eye on child and did not use it that often but if you have older kids and wanted peace to sunbathe it is well worth the extra
card in room said we not get cleaner two days but every day it was cleaned with fresh towels
