Having never been to Majorca before,my partner Sheila, and four friends stayed at the marvellous Santa Lucia in Palma Nova and we shall certainly go back in the future. It is a hotel that no matter which room you have you have a sea view. The staff and entertainment team are first class, the food is well prepared with one of the best selections you could ever want. The menu is very much aimed at the mainly English clientele, but who is bothered when you are so well fed and the menu is so varied. There was a lovely swimming pool and also an indoor one with sauna, hot room and jacuzzi, which was well used by Sheila .The only downside was guests queueing at 8am to put towels on sun loungers(that was abit sad on their part).
We stayed there from June 13 to June 23 2013 and as I said we shall certainly be back.
WELL DONE SANTA LUCIA.

Room Tip: When dining at night for dinner, try the the grill they have the best tasting Sea Bream and say hello to Enmi who is the chef.

We spent a week at the Santa Lucia 8th - 15th June 2013 and we had a very pleasant time. There were 5 adults and a 12 year old child in our party. We stayed on the half board basis - breakfast was very good - everything from porridge to fresh fruit salad to the full English, very weak coffee though! Dinner at night was ok - usually 3 meat choices, 3 fish courses, veggie options and fresh meat & fish cooked on the grill in front of you. We all ate well each night and some of us - especially myself - are very fussy eaters!! I wouldn't recommend all inclusive at the hotel as there are so many good, reasonably priced bars, cafes and restaurants around, many have evening entertainment on, it was nice to get out & about as we would have gone stir crazy if we had to stay at he hotel every day and night. The Three Brothers bar across from the Santa Lucia is ideal for snacks at lunchtime. We were blown away by the fabulous clean beaches - expect to pay 13.5 - 15 euros per day for 2 sunbeds & a parasol - depends which part of the beach you use. The lifts are very temperamental - all 3 broke down when we were there. My Mum requires a wheelchair and the manageress gave us permission to use the service lift - Thank You.
If you want to stay by the pool - you will have to join the "Towel Brigade" - you will have to start queuing at 07.30 am to get the best spot - they don't open the doors until exactly 08.00 am - we found this hilarious!!!!
The rooms are quite small and could do with a little updating - but were perfectly adeqate with lots of storage and cleaned daily to a very high standard. The big bathroom was very modern with a powerful shower. We stayed in room 401 which had a fabulous seaview and got the sun in the late afternoon into the evening - which was perfect for us as we like to have a wee G&T on the balcony after a hard day on the beach!!
To hire a safe and a fridge - it cost a total of 58 euros for 1 week, which included a 10 euro returnable deposit.
Palma Nova is a very busy, popular family resort, filled with lots of souvenir shops and reasonably priced supermarkets.
Please do not be put off by the reviews that go on about the sickness & diarrhoea bug - it appears all those who suffered with it had been on a cruise - coincidental or what???

We were quite concerned about staying at the Santa Lucia after reading poor reviews prior to our trip - my advice is go with an open mind and I'm sure you will have a great holiday - just like we did.

Now enjoys a 4 star Rating - don't know why.
The location is arguably the finest on the island with beautiful beaches either side but the hotel itself is not what I'd consider to be a 4 star.

Rooms are very small. Food is bland and always looks a lot better than it tastes, Pool area is too small and the daily struggle in securing a sunbed or two is completely risible, and, no, it's not the German's.

Evening entertainment is ok but bar prices are quite steep for those not on the all-inclusive option. Staff are generally pretty friendly. Rooms are small and the beds are hard.

The food is possibly the biggest let down of the lot and we spent a fortune in the Orion Restaurant right opposite because it's far better.

Quite simply this hotel is way over-priced for what it is and if you shop around you can do so much better.

Went to this hotel last few weeks of May and had a great time an met some brilliant people. Went with 2 mates an were all around 30. There is alot more older people there but got a little bit of an age mix the 2nd week. The hotel is really clean an great views from balcony an couldn't get better location. Saw alot of people moaning on here about staff but couldn't fault one of them everyone was friendly with us. The entertainment was Brilliant with Hanna an Michael getting everyone involved an it's good way to get to know people. They work long hours an really make the hotel what it is. Would 100 percent go back an stay at this hotel again an suggest people not listen to the bad reviews an judge for yourself instead.
