Wishing to explore the west side of Majorca we choose the Hotel Valentina Reina in Paguera as our base for 3 days. Our stay was on a half board basis and the hotel was booked directly from their website. We were fully aware that Paguera is called "little Germany" and that the hotel population would be predominatly German and this was the case. However this was not a problem ...the reception spoke good english and were very efficient and everyone was polite and friendly towards us. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable, the accommodation was not the most modern and the room tvs were small and dated. However if you have a room at the front of the hotel then you get a large very private balcony with spectacular views over the bay.
We found the food for a 3 star hotel was excellent with good variety and very good service. There was no sharing of tables that was mentioned in a previous report when we were there,
Entertainment was again very good with something happening every night on the main stage next to the pool. What suprised us was the ease of getting a sun bed by the pool this was never an issue.!! My overall impression of the Hotel was good, the staff regularly participated in joining in with the games and music and seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as the guests !!
Overall a good short break if you want to experience something a bit different away from the British tourist resorts.

Myself and 21 others on a tennis holiday stayed at this hotel for a week and we enjoyed our stay. On arrival to the hotel on our first evening, there was a salad plate waiting for us, which was good as most of us hadn't eaten for a number of hours. We appreciated this kind gesture!

The food offered to us every day was fantastic; there was a buffet breakfast and dinner with a great selection and variety of foods for both meals available for guests (half board). The food was cooked to a very good standard. The restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. The bar staff were also friendly towards us and the bar has a good selection of drinks.

The entertainment in the hotel was good; Gabriel, the entertainment leader for the hotel hosted a quiz one night, which was followed by a salsa dance lesson. The following night was a band followed by a disco. Even the bar staff got involved in the act!

The rooms were cleaned every day and the beds were made.

The reception staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was a problem to them to do things for us, e.g. call for a cab/taxi.

The hotel and resort is geared towards German tourists, however, English and Spanish is spoken in shops. The resort itself is quaint and unspoilt. The beach is five minutes away from the hotel and is clean and unspoilt. There is a bus service from just outside the hotel to Palma. Paguera is not as built up as other parts of Mallorca. The hotel is also five minutes away from Tennis Academy Mallorca.

I would recommend this hotel to friends and family and I hope to return again.

I stayed for a week in the Reina pageura with my friend (both in our 30's). It is in a great location and immaculate. We arrived late at night and on our arrival we were greeted and shown through to the dining room where a plate of cold meat, cheese, salad and bread rolls had been put out for us. As we were exhausted and hungry this was wonderful! The following week was full of gestures which made us feel very welcome and well cared for.

The food offered both morning and evening was great (half board). I am wheat and dairy intolerant and I still had food I could choose from which varied each night and was cooked to a good standard. The restaurant staff were all friendly and extremely efficient. Everything was clean.

The bar was similar - a good array of cocktails as well as all the usual drinks. The staff were also really friendly and greeted us with smiles and hellos whenever we saw them.

The entertainment, lead by Gabriel, had highlights including professional flamenco dancers one night, and dance instruction from Gabriel who taught us rudimentary salsa and other dances. Some of the other entertainment wasn't to our taste but still made us laugh and the effort put in was admirable.

The reception staff were extremely helpful whenever asked and always cheerfully greeted us. I can't think of any negatives!

The hotel and resort is mostly set up for German tourists of retirement age however we found the locals more than willing to put up with our basic Spanish and most spoke both English and German fluently (put us to shame!). If you don't want a resort full of pissed up brits abroad and do want a beautiful location, clean beaches, good shops only a short bus ride away from palma then pageura is ideal and I would highly recommend the reina pageura! I have been to other areas in mallorca but would definitely go back to the reina in the future. I have also been on holiday on my own .in the past and would be happy go to the reina as a single person.

Lovely location -really good to be a 1 minute walk from the beach & shops which weren't built up & concreted up like Magaluf & Palmanova... Lovely views of the hills in the distance. Bus to Palma stops right outside the hotel and really cheap. We went half board -lots of choice at breakfast and dinner & attentive dining room staff worked really hard. Rooms were really clean & lots of space on the balcony. (n.b. Sea view balconies get the sun in the afternoon ;-) Despite being in our thirties me & my friend were the youngest in the hotel and two of four english people -most guests were retired german walkers & most of the info/facilities in the area was geared around them. I personally preferred it -nice to feel young without having to behave like a Brit abroad! Quirky entertainment staff introduced guests to each other and opportunities in the area with energy & enthusiasm! Reception, cleaners and bar staff warm, helpful and really professional. Defo recommend it to friends and family -ace break for relaxing, and exploring the island as long as you're not looking for a wild party holiday!

Second visit and the same clean hotel with good public areas-pool, bar, reception and dinning room. Bedrooms with balcony very tidy with ensuite toilet and bath. Staff a little friendlier this year. The breakfast has an excellent choice from the large buffet. The evening buffet is let down by some overcooked hot dishes but the salads cold meats and soup are very good. Free parking is available at a nearby municipal car park. This is a German resort and being school term in Germany was populated with the retired and a few families with pre school children.

The Hotel offers good value for money and provided a good base for a weeks tennis at the excellent Tennis Academy Mallorca(Four minutes walk from the Hotel)

This was a great holiday, in a hotel where good food, good service and friendly staff are assured. Combined with fine weather, a relaxing beach, a superb tennis centre less than 5 minutes walk away, and easy access to the capital Palma, and you have the fundamentals for a holiday to remember. The management and staff of the Reina Paguera try not to put a foot wrong, and this high level of efficiency makes for an excellent break. The resort holiday makers are almost exclusively German, but the friendly Mallorcans seem to appreciate the rarer Englanders - particualrly if you use the language and show some friendly bonhomie ! The hotel had evening entertainment organised by a jovial and multi-lingual Dutchman, who made us feel very welcome.

We found the hotel to offer a clean but basic room. We opted for half board ( buffet style breakfast and dinner) which had a good selection so that you could eat something that you liked. This might have been repetitive if you were staying for two weeks but was fine for a weeks stay. The resort and hotel was geared towards the german market.(All the cutlery was clean unlike some hotels where its hard to find a clean set) The pool was chilly at that time of the year. A small cabaret was arranged each evening.

Paguera is full of retired germans at that time of year. We liked them but it was like being in germany.
