Having stayed in Paguera many times in the 90's, we often walked past this hotel and thought it would be nice to there, instead of in an appartment.........one day maybe.
We finally went back in June this year, 11 of us including the (grown-up) kids, under 2 year old grand-daughter and over 90 year old great aunt!
We had intended to go to the Galatzo, which my wife and I stayed in last October, but when we went to book this for the whole family we found it had changed to adults only........fortunately for us (nothing against the Galatzo, we're going there next week with friends for a long weekend). But for the family trip, it turned out to be a result. Staying at the Villamil was cheaper to start with; it was right on the beach and so convenient for everywhere; the drinks were half the price of Galatzo's and most of the 5 rooms we had were very large too.
Check-in was friendly and fast and the hotel is absolutely lovely, full of old world charm, polished marble, dark wood furniture, big candles, impressive lights.......just had a really nice feel to it.
Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the gardens towards the pool was everything nyone could ask for and staff are just so friendly, nothing seemed like to much trouble for them. Likelwise, the staff at the pool bar, they couldn't have done more.

The only evening we ate at the hotel was when they held a BBQ. Ok, I thought it was a bit expensive, but I guess that all depends on how much you want to eat and if you're hungry, it would be good value. The food was certainly very nice, especially the fish.
All in all, great, price, great location, great staff and lots of charm.
Lastly, a tip for getting there if you've made seperate flight arrangements. Get in touch with a company called Taxipmi. They arranged an 11 seat minibus to and from the airport, met us in the terminal and helped with the bags etc, all for 90 Euro each way (plus a well deserved tip).More
