There are spectacular views over the sea, wonderful facilities including swimming pools, tennis courts, football etc. The rooms are excellent if not a bit small but each room has a balcony and neat all overlook the sea. Bathrooms are fine and air conditioning works very well.

A number of small things annoyed me but I think most people are used to this kind of thing in Spain. We had to pay for a key for the safe in the bedroom. I presume a clothes iron would've been the same. The towels were also not free for the swimming pool.

There was free Wi-Fi in the reception area and you could pay to have it in your room and everywhere else.

Our deal included breakfast and evening meal. Evening meal included a bottle of water and a bottle of wine, which we were not expecting The first night the bottle of rosé wine was absolutely dreadful and later we complained. The next evening in the restaurant we were offered a much better quality of wine. Like most Spanish and French restaurants there was no adequate offerings for vegetarians, but they did have bread for Celiacs.

The self service food at breakfast was ok but dinner was not great. We only eat there three out of the six nights. Vegetables were overcooked, fish was generally served in a batter and my local chipper would have done a better job.

It would appear that 80% of the guests were French and the language in the lift was French rather than Spanish. But there was entertainment each evening. On one evening which I attended they failed to get any reaction from the audience. It must be said that only 10% of the audience purchased a drink.

Overall a very enjoyable experience.

We went for a 4 day holiday and were aching for a quiet time by the beach and a good quality hotel.
The Hotel is on the outskirts of a small quiet town and is surrounded by a park and a tennis court. Porto Colom is perfect for couples and families with children who are not up for a big party holiday. It's very peaceful and quiet. Evenings at the hotel are filled with events for kids and adults. The beach is about 100m away equipped with sunbeds and parasols costing 12 EUR per day (as of Jul 2014) or sit on the ground next to waterfront. The hotel itself has swimming pools (we saw water quality being checked) with sunbeds and parasols, nice bar and premises are very tidy and look awesome. Plenty of activities like tennis, darts, basketball, football and activities organised by animation team - just awesome!.
The only downside - rooms don't have double beds, just two single beds put together. The view from the room was amazing though, no neighboring hotels next to it which is pretty awesome and gives a luxury feel of privacy. rooms are clean, bathroom a bit outdated but everything functioning and great water pressure.
We only had breakfast included in the hotel which was good - the usual stuff plus fruit, selection of teas etc. Restaurants nearby mostly italian for some reason but there are a few with a nice choice of seafood and fish.
The staff are great, very helpful and accommodating. We could even take shower after checked out.
The airport transfer felt taking ages - an 1-1.5 hours. we were almost last ones to be dropped off. Next time we'd take an earlier flight in.

Overall great hotel for a quiet and relaxing holiday for couples, family reunions or families with kids.

We spent in this hotel one week holidays. In the first point I must notice that this hotel has excellent staff - very friendly and helpful. It is the best thing in this hotel. Rooms and especially bathrooms are little bit older but still fine. Very nice are swimming pools and it is not far to walk to the beach. The beach is superb - soft sand, clear and shallow water. The beach is very suitable for children.

There is a lot of food in restaurant and for every lunch and dinner you would get one bottle of wine and wine bottle of water for free. Very nice is choice of fresh fruits. I liked their desserts which were one level over other meals. As for other meals everytime I have got something I liked. But I must notice that from time to time especially meats should be better prepare. It was not any big problem but everytime I am surprised when I see very quite nice piece of meat but prepared without taste and hard. In overall the food was very good and we were satisfied.

We spent there one nice week and we would like to return in future. I could recommend this hotel especially to families with children.

The 3rd year running I have been to this hotel with my little elderly Mum and 2 sisters. We were given 2 rooms side by side on the 7th floor with sea views. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The food is really very good, with a great selection with something for everyone. Unfortunately, my Mum was taken poorly, but the help and support that we had was just brilliant.
I would have no hesitation to recommend this hotel, and am already looking forward to our 4th trip next May. Great value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms on 7th floor with sea view.

Me and my family just came back from holidays. I only have good words for this hotel and where is sited. The food is the best than the other hotel we stayed before, plenty of plates everyday and variety for everybody. The staff are friendly and they help as much as they can.
Big thank you for animation team that makes much better ours holidays there. My little girl just loved Minidisco time and Pirate's day.

Firstly, On The Beach are advertising this incorrectly - this is not 10km from the airport! It's approx 65km and the last stop after many others through other areas we were therefore the first pick up back to the airport and it took an hour and a half to get there. We chose this hotel over another as we particularly needed a short transfer due to medical needs of one of our children, so this was frustrating.
That said, the location was far better for us than the busy areas we travelled through and we were pleasantly relieved. The hotel was spotless, as it was the start of the season there were plenty of staff planting, and doing odd jobs around the grounds, clearly taking great care of the environment. The view from our room was stunning - we emailed the hotel beforehand to ask for a good view and we got two rooms next to each other that looked out across the grounds and beach.
We booked the holiday less than 2 days before travelling, and everyone was expecting us.
We used the sauna, tennis courts, table tennis and pool area. We didn't use the deep pool although this area also had alot of sunbeds. All good, pool chilly but it was April. The weather was in mid 20's and we all got burnt - you needed the pool so it would have been nice to have been heated slightly.
Pool area clean, lots of sunbeds and parasols, and the most bored life guard who walked round all day with absolutely nothing to do as the pool was used so little. However, he was always there.
Food average, reasonable choice considering how quiet it was. Bread was fresh, plenty of fresh fruit, fish and meats. Typical odd plate of choices but you are in a foreign country after all. Being fussy, I like croissants and morning pastries warm and these were always put out cold in baskets - and only one slow toaster but maybe when it's busier there are more?
WIFI in reception ok, our teenagers spent time there, we paid for WIFI for around the hotel and in the rooms but don't bother - you need to log in every few minutes and it's so annoying.
Beach is lovely, water clear no sunbeds in April and I hate sitting on towels and worst of all no shade - my hubby got sunstroke after a few hours on the beach and was in bed the following day with shivers and sickness, for how hot it is there really should be parasols on the beach. There is one tree, but even with a few people using the beach we found that spot always gone.
Rooms ok, very clean, small balcony but lovely view, very discoloured (yellowed)toilet seat but clean. Daily cleaners. No tea coffee making unless you pay 20 euros so we didn't bother, tea and coffee cheap to drink in the local cafes.
Location lovely, peaceful, pretty. Walk up the hill to a few cafes, little shops, pizza place, Spar and not much else - so quiet. Walk on to the harbour and the larger supermarket.
We got taxi to Cala D'or but not for us - a town with lots of souvenir shops full of the same stuff, pubs and eating places with all day English breakfast etc - imagine Yarmouth squished up with a much prettier beach. Beach very similar to Porto Colom though, but with sunbeds, parasols, ice creams etc. Also, no taxis for 5, which made it expensive and no buses from Cala D'Or to Porto Colom.
Overall, a good break, everything we were looking for 5 days - hot weather, a pool, beach, quiet relaxing location, adequate food and service, clean accommodation, evening entertainment ok (Spanish dancing, kids disco, pool table etc) but we prefer to have a drink and play cards or talk, staff OK, probably wouldn't go back but a pleasant stay. Would recommend to a couple or family looking for a quiet, relaxing short break.

Room Tip: 544,545 - floor five so quite high up but stunning
