“Great hotel, perfect location”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

We spent a week self catering at this hotel, didnt know what to expect. We booked with jet 2 holidays, such a smooth flight and transfers to the hotel. Very clean entrance and large foyer. Staff were always willing to help, some staff speak better English than others. Shop is a little expensive but to be expected. Rooms are basic but absolutely fine. Rooms are cleaned regularly. The balcony is awesome, so big compared to what you would get at some of the more expensive hotels. Perfect for sitting out at night. The entertainment was okay, could have been better, think it depends on what week you go. We didnt use the pool as the beach is so close. The beach is divine, soft sand and clear water. The hotel is in the perfect location close to all the shops and restaurants. Recommended restaurants nearby are cheers, lago chinese, white rose. El Loro Verde is a must, bit expensive but the food is AMAZING especially their chocolate coulant. Yaa yogurt is another must, their smoothies and yogurts are devine. You will visit here more than once. Funny Bunnys (Pacos Bar) is also a must, great price and excellent food, we went here a few times. The marina is also stunning and plenty of restaurants there too. Old town is also a must. We also went on a 2 hour boat trip which is amazing!! Def worth the money and the time.
Great week, would def return

Room Tip: We were on the fifth floor, looking out over the road. No problems. Quite hot during the day, perfec...

Very nice hotel with lovely staff, Mini club was great for my grand children aged 6+4, special mention for "Ella" she was fab. Rooms basic but clean and spacious, location bang in the centre of restaurants, pubs & shops. The beach is to die for it's absolutely beautiful with it's miles of white sand and clear blue sea. Children's entertainment in the evening Cheer's bar just across the road or The Shine up the strip to the right have mini disco with cartoon character's kids loved it. All in All a great family holiday...roll on next year.

Room Tip: pool view, 2nd floor massive balcony

Just returned from two weeks at the Sol Alcudia Center for a change the discriptions given are correct. The hotel is right in the centre of everything and surrounded by shops and restaurants. The apartments/rooms and the hotel are kept spotlessly clean. All the staff are very attentive and try to be as helpful as they can. We were self catering so can't comment on the food but heard it was very reasonable. Being in a flat area it is very suitable for anyone with walking difficulties or disabled.
Sun beds and umbrellas are free around the pool although the size of the complex leads me to believe that beds would be a problem in the high season. Petty as it sounds beds and brollies are free but they charge you a euro a day for a mattress how stupid to spoil the experience for a euro. Also wifi is expensive so go to one of the many local restaurants where they offer free wifi if you just sit and have a coffee. Altogether a very good value for money property.

Room Tip: Any Spanish resort is noisy at night and this one is no exception. But rooms overlooking the pool ar...

Arrived at 1am to Pablo who told us where we could get a drink! Rooms plenty big enough for 2 adults and 3 girls 14, 8 and 5. Clean and tidy. Cleaners and staff polite and friendly despite some language barriers!! Lifeguard on duty all day and kids club looked fun!! Well placed near beach and bars/ restaurants. Large balcony and drying space - also a launderette which is small but clean!! Didnt eat at hotel so cant comment on food. Highly recommend - hotel perfect.

We visited this hotel in early semptember as a family holiday for two weeks all inclusive.

On arrival after being delayed 5 and a half hours by Monarch we were greeted by a very friendly man named Pablo who was very happy and did his best to assist us. Shortly after we were allocated our rooms located on the first floor.

The rooms themselves are reasonably spacious and adequetly cleaned for a three star hotel, they also come along with a small kitchen area for those who are self catering even though any guest was able to use these facilities. Overall i only really have a few queries about the rooms which were, the sofa bed offered really wasnt a bed and couldnt be detached from the wall, the tv is from an entirely different century and didnt offer any english channels other than the news (even though a large majority of guests are english). However there is a major safety hazard in the bathroom that NEEDS to be addressed by staff, this hazard is the soap dispenser of which has very sharp and pointy edges and if you are small or have young children it could cause some serious harm. This needs to be addressed!!!!!!. Overall rooms are fine otherwise.

One of the highlights of this hotel considering its a three star is the all inclusive buffet located in the outside restaurant. Every breakfast, lunch and dinner i always found something that i liked and the food was actually tasty. Lasagna, steak, variety of pasta and a range of vegetables were always on offer. the only thing that was missing was more of a variety of desserts as there usually wasnt much selection there. But again for a three star an all round fantastic buffet i say and the staff were always friendly and smiling event though they worked tireless hours.

The pool area is standard and offers everything you would expect, and the amount of left lilos and inflatables was incredible, your certainly not short of being able to float around in the pool. Getting a sunbed was often a bit tricky as people use the same tactic of getting up and putting they're towel on in the morning but thats always to be expected. with a bit of common sense and a few movings round this can be sorted.

The bar area is completely fine and all of the soft drinks are very refeshing being official coca cola and fanta. however the beer is a real shocker, its flatter than the sahara desert and tastes cheap and the spirits arnt much better. Don't be put off by this though it does the job if your only going for a week or so.

In terms of entertainment there was a very good tom jones tribute, queen tribute were also very good but on one of the nights there was a group called the 'Harlem Dreams' playing and they were brilliant, they really got the crowd going and were very good indeed. The actual animation team were crap though, they constantly screeched down the microphone in an attempt to always show off. it seemed to be all about them rather than the audience. Furthermore there is a restricted view of the entertainment as there are many pillars in the way. I would recomend taking a trip out if your looking for any sort of decent nightlife or entertainment.

Overall this hotel has many good features and i would reccomend it to anyone staying with a family, the food was great, the area is close to the beach and attractions, the staff are friendly and generally its slightly better than you'd expect for a three star.

Its worth a visit :)

Room Tip: Chose a room not looking over the road or the pool, that way you will avoid the noise from the bars...

Dear spudgunjoe,
Thank you for sharing your cexperience about your stay with all of us. We have taken good note of your comments about the soap dispensers and we are already looking for a suitable solution. Regarding the beer let me please inform you that we offer popular Spanish brands. We are sorry to read they did not fully met your expectations. This hotel is very average but by far not the best sol hotel we have visited, it's in a very good location, the hotel is clean and rooms are very spacious and well equipped if a little dated.
The food is poor and very repetitive, the entertainment is also very poor.
Some staff are friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room

Rooms spacious and trapped the sun( ours 425)
Very central location and staff all supportive and with a smile
We were room only so can not comment on the restaurant
We are a mature couple and the "feel " of the place was a warm one
Certainly for a three star hotel , it fully merits that classification if not more
My only downside was the lack of free WIFI but all the bars near had the facility
