We stayed at the Condes de Alcudia for a week on half board basis in June 2011. After reading a lot of bad reviews concerning robberies we were a bit bothered about what it was going to be like, but we needn't have worried. We didn't hear of any problems during our stay.
On arrival at the hotel we were checked in quickly and found the reception staff to be very friendly and courteous. Our room was on the 6th floor so we had to use the lift which we did find to be a bit of a squeeze with our luggage but we managed it ok. The room itself was basic but comfortable and clean. Our bathroom was fine as we had a shower over a bath and it was plenty big enough, again it was very clean and it was cleaned daily with all towels changed daily too.
Now onto the meals. The dining room was ok but there wasn't a lot of room between tables. The food was very good, always loads of choice, always hot and the staff worked very hard to keep the serving trays topped up. I have got to say that the English breakfast was probably the best we have had in a hotel outside England so full marks for that.
While we were at the hotel we never actually used the pool area because it looked very small and was surrounded by back entrances to shops, so it wasn't the prettiest area. So we chose to go to the beach instead which was only a few minutes walk from the hotel and was absolutely stunning. A pair of sunbeds and a parasol cost 9 Euros for the day, which we thought quite reasonable. Just a word of warning, don't use the beach bar for drinks use the supermarkets instead, we used the beach bar on our first time to the beach and was charged 5 Euros for two cans of Coke!!!
Because we were on a half board basis we didn't stay around the hotel in the evening. Instead we chose to walk to the harbour area after our evening meal. The harbour area is only about 10mins walk away and is a great place to do some people watching or just wander around looking around the little craft stalls that spring up in the evening. Another great place for a good night out is Brunel Inn (leave the hotel through the reception area, cross the road and turn right. Brunel Inn is on the left hand side, look out for the big Union Jack flag flying) Em and John who own Brunels are very friendly and make you feel very welcome, I can't recommend it highly enough for its friendly atmosphere, good beer and lots of laughs. Give it a try.
All in all we found our stay at the Condes to be very good. Just remember that it is a 3 star hotel so don't go expecting it to be like a 5 star and you should be ok.

Welcome to our views. Room 926 Condes De Alcudia Hotel
On arrival to Hotel we were issued with our key and AI wristband. Found the room, on entering we discovered there was no pool or sea view which we did request as part of the booking , although we did have someones elses pool view!!!!

ROOM:- Small shower-room, had to squeeze in between the sink + the toilet,to get into the shower, then when you were in the shower the curtain would be wrapped round you, the control for the water is on the wall and when you turned or moved the lever went in and turned the water off!!! God help any one that is on the larger side, we ain't big and it was an issue for us!!!! Some of the rooms do have a bath/shower, Single beds put together, but quite comfy, ample wardrobe space, do take a hairdryer (not included)

BALCONY AREA:- Large, 2 chairs 1 table

POOL AREA:- Small pool/kids splash pool, plenty of loungers, also tables+chairs all around the pool area if you prefer.

STAFF:- All very friendly, if you are nice they will be the same with you, it's not hard to smile and be pleasant, so no problems there!

ENTERTAINMENT STAFF:- Kirsty, Vanesssa + Craig, they work so hard, we joined in a few of the games, they do killer darts, skittles, cookies, water polo and many more!!!

FOOD:- Always something to put on a plate, they do try to please, but some people think it's the Ritz they are going to!!!! Desserts to die for again!!! Diets starts again!

OUT + ABOUT:- Loads of places to eat + drink, wide range of choices. The Gran China resturant on the main street is amazing, a group of us went there the last night of our stay, delicious, oh and the company was good aswell....... COMICS BAR, CHEERS, GOODFELLAS are just a few of the many places to relax with friends.

THE OLD TOWN:- Very beautiful place, market day on a Tuesday/Sunday, very busy so watch ur bags/wallets......you have been warned.

PORTA POLLENSA :- less than 2 euro to go on the bus, beautiful place. Just go and explore as we did.

CAN PICAFORT :- Again very reasonable to go by bus, the beach is amazing, lots of bars/resturants along the front, good to sit and watch the world go by!!!!!

BEACH:- Massive, beautiful, lots of beachbars along rhe way, but watch out they can be quite expensive, better to be equiped b4 you go to spent the day there.

It all depends on what you like to do but we had a fab time, met lots of amazing people, but do go and find out for yourself.
The hotel does have internet but it does cost to use it 1 euro for 10 mins minimum time.

Room Tip: 926 no pool/sea view

We stayed here in october 2010, me, my fiance and our 2 children 3 and 1, the staff were very friendly and loved my little boys, we stayed all inclusive and was well worth the money, plenty of choices for breakfast, sausages, eggs, bacon etc, cereals, bread, crossants, ham, cheese and more, the snaks were a bit basic but dinner was lovely a very good selection and the the desserts to die for :-) The pool was freezing when we were their but this was apprently due to the 2 weeks of bad weather previously, however the gorgeous alcudia beach was only a 2 min stroll away which was lovely, we were swimming in the lovely warm sea, we also hired a car and drove to Marine land in palma, road very easy to drive, my only disa pointment was some stuck up thomas cook rep, who sold us a trip to the pirates show telling us there would be high chair for the kids.......there wasnt, it was the biggest waste of money as we neve got to see much of the show, i would not recommend for people with young children, overall great hotel especially for the price :- )

At less than £35 per person per night all inclusive there had to be a catch - and there is - you get what you pay for. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. Hotel clean. Staff not over friendly. Bed sheets (surprisingly!) very soft. Whole place is dated. Bedrooms small and very basic. Bathrooms are the worst thing of all - tiny. If you are a bit overweight or just generally a big person then give it a miss - you will have problems fitting in the shower. I have never seen one so small. Outside area not very pretty and hotel abuts back of shops. Entertainment staff were abysmal! They were all in their 20s and yet they put on dreadful entertainment that I'm sure they wouldn't want to suffer. Very naff. Bingo, quizzes (they were ok, actually), battle of the sexes (embarrassingly childish) and very poor singers and dancers booked for us. Just dreadful. When I complained I got a mouthful from one of the - English - female staff. On the positive side the hotel is 1 min walk from the beautiful beach. Also food was surprisingly good and fresh. Reception staff were decent. The lifts are small - wouldn't fit a double buggy in them. Queues all the time. General area felt safe. Wouldn't go back to this hotel, though.
