We stayed for a short 4 night break in early October on all inclusive.

Plus points
+ Within striking distance of lots of interesting places - we'd hired a small car which I'd recommend
+ Plenty of sun loungers by pool
+ Plenty of food and drink. Most of the food is clearly geared at an English and German audience rather than many local specialities. At breakfast, I'd recommend the pastries, which were very fresh and nice, and avoid the bacon which was very greasy. The main meals had a mix of salads, hot dishes (you could eat sausage and chips every meal), freshly grilled fish and meat, and always a couple of Spanish dishes (e.g. a rice dish and fried squid) which again were best thing. Fresh fruit available as were beer, wine and coke etc. all available on tap.
+ Free cocktails at the bar - pina colada very nice - and we never had to queue very long
+ The island very pleasant place to relax with a book
+ The beach is very nice - shallow sandy beach into the sea
+ All staff we spoke with were friendly

Minus points
- The area outside the hotel by the pool was pretty full of people who didn't really leave the hotel
- The entertainment was pretty amateur, but it is free and you can take it or leave it
- The beds are hard and not very comfortable
- The TVs in the rooms are tiny, but then that's not really the point of going on holiday is it?
- The food on the island was not worth trying
- Rooms are pretty noisy

Overall, a nice holiday but not sure that we'll be returning

Room Tip: Avoid the first floor (over entertainment area) and back of hotel is better (facing mountains)

we recently visited hotel lagomonte on 10/10/13 to 17/10/13 for our honeymoon the hotel was very big spacious and very clean , the reception staff were pleasant and smiled but thats where the good parts end im afraid the bar staff and dining staff were very unhelpfull and distant and most certainley never smiled the whole time we were there, the food was terrible same things every night just in a different form and of very poor quality , one particular meal was supposed to be peking duck but honestley just looked like a tin of bones with hardly any meat on , in fact i have given bones to my dogs with more meat on them utterly disgusted with that dish and most people we spkoe to agreed.as mentioned above the bar staff just didnt seem interested and when serving drinks just slammed them down and looked at you as though you were some lower form of life ,the room were spacious and clean but very dated didnt seem as though they had been updated in years and still stuck in the 1980's. felt really let down by the hotel and generally had a very bad experience would definately not recommend this hotel and if you do go there i would strogly recommend you eat out !!! think some staff retraining in order and a new head chef along with some new dining staff who are trained in customer satisfaction!!!

Room Tip: low floor pool facing

Having stayed in Alcudia 30 years ago we decided to return. We were a party of 4 and we all said we would return again. We stayed at the Lagomonte from 8th October for a week all inclusive. From landing at Palma our experience was superb. The transfer wasn't too long considering it was the other end of the island. There were a few drop offs but it didn't take hours. On arrival at the hotel only one of our rooms was ready but that wasn't a problem. We dumped our cases and headed for the island. We were well impressed with the food being served their (although only luke warm - but everything abroad is only luke warm!!) and there were drinks on tap. We forgot we had to register our room and 3 hours later we went to unpack. I must say the rooms were spacious enough for a couple having an extra sofa and bed underneath. Very very clean indeed. My husband has a bad back so we just took the foam matress from under the sofa and he slept like a baby. No problem. The bath was great and always plenty of hot water although my hubby did say that the shower was erratic and flowed hot and cold. Ahhh

There was always something to eat, fair enough not serloin steaks etc, but you always had a choice. Chicken, veal, pork chops etc. Only think I would say is there seemed to be a lot of fish stew and fishy things which never seemed to get eaten. They should probably do more plain meats or mean based dishes. Curry's would be good. Everything always seemed to be fresh and we as a party had no complaints. It was nearly the end of the season when we went and the island closed after a couple of days but the food in the restaurant at lunchtimes was actually better than the island. Much more choice. The drinks were served in glasses if you were early but nearer the end of the night they were served in plastic cups as a few of the holidaymakers liked to take their drinks to their rooms!!! We only had to queue one night. There was no problems with queuing really. The entertainment left a lot to be desired. I would say the karaoke was the best night. Stay clear of the quiz nights.

One think I would advise. If you are offered a free trip do not take it unless you want to spend over 2 hours in a room looking at a matress. We were told the talk would be for around 40 minutes and they described it as a 'sleep therapy session'. Ha - they only wanted to flog you a matress and accessories for about £1,500. Mind you, on the way back Caroline, the tour guide! did flog us some aloe vera and snail serum cream which is absolutely fantastic. In the end was worth going just for that. Will hunt her down again next year and get some more.

I wanted to return to the Jolly Rodger as I spent my time there 30 years ago but every time we passed it it was empty. I remember when the pool at the back was open all day and all night and they had bbq's going constantly. What happened? Wanted to go in but there was never anyone outside.

On the whole, we loved the place and are planning to go back next year. Best thing about end of September, beginning of October - no kids. Yehhh.

Met some great people there too. Hello if you know who we are.

Room Tip: Pool side is great. The views are tremedous from 5th floor.

Just returned yesterday from a 4 night all inclusive short break to this hotel. Hotel is very clean, the pool and public areas were spotless. Bedrooms cleaned daily, with fresh bedding and linen. Food was very basic. Drinks were plentiful with beer/wine and soft drink dispensers located at various areas in the dining/lounge areas for you to self-serve (including hot drinks). Island was closed but this is probably due to it being the end of the season. The beach and Old Town are worth a visit. There's a small train that stops outside of the hotel regularly and cost only 3 euros per trip (it's not a hop on/off service by the way). Hotel provided a complimentary shuttle bus from the hotel to the beach but a stroll to the beach would only take 15 mins maximum. Would return to Alcudia again, but probably not to this hotel if going all inclusive. Weather was brilliant around 28-30 degrees daily :)

Room Tip: We stayed in room 311 which overlooked the pool/lake. Was nice and quiet :)

Stayed mid October, I'm a woman in my 40's, with my daughter aged 14.
Please be aware that the Island part of this hotel is now closed! We weren't expecting this, I guess it's because end of season?
We booked a cheap last minute deal for a week in the sun. Everyone said that we were very lucky with the weather, as usually it can get quite cold and rainy this time of the year.
Transfer from the airport was for us was very straightforward. We arrived from Luton at around 10, and were in the hotel by 12.
Rooms: our room was on the ground floor, overlooking the entrance walkway. This meant that we were unable to open our curtains unfortunately, so I found the room quite dark and dreary and tried to spend as less time as possible in it (well, not going on holiday for the room I guess).Furniture was dated, with plaster coming off the walls. However, compared to what I've seen in other hotels, the room was actually quite big. We had an additional sofa bed (which we didn't ask for). Bathroom, again, dated, but I didn't find it too small. Everything was cleaned daily, fresh sheets etc, can't fault on cleanliness. Payed €5 deposit for remote control and €20 for 1 week of wifi. You could pay hourly, daily etc for wifi. Once paid, connection was quick and no problem, but can only be used on 1 device.
Staff: friendly, no attitude, no problems at all. We only used the reception for booking in etc, so we never really had a problem to discuss.
Food: 3 star (can tell the difference to a good 4 star definitely), i.e. instead of 10 different types of cheese, you would have 2 - but who can eat that much anyway. orange juice from tap rather than freshly squeezed for example, but again, I expected nothing else. We did always find something to eat. Usually there were 2 dishes from the grill (fish, chicken), pasta, rice chips, 1 dish with gravy, pizza slices for dinner, vegetable, and the same selection of salad items for every meal.
Drinks: as I went with my daughter, didn't use the bar too often. Yes, drinks are probably a bit watered down, but still tastes nice sitting by the pool.
Pool/outside area: very clean and staff always on hand. We did always find sun beds, no issues there. However, staff started to clear away sun beds and not putting them back out next day, so as the week went past, there were less and less. Makes me think they are preparing for the winter as well? As I said before, we were very lucky with the weather and had mid 80's every day.
Entertainment: watched a few acts as other reviewers have mentioned before, also bingo and karaoke nights. Usual hotel entertainment actually and the staff are quite jolly.
Town: Once you know the way, only a 15 min walk to the beach, and the beach is gorgeous, one of the best ones I have seen in Europe, clean, clear water and white sand, this is how a beach should be.Shallow so would be very good for smaller children. Not much of a night life in town if this is what you are after, though some nice restaurants where you could sit and let the world go past. There are the usual suspects of naff tourist shops, but I have also found some beautiful original fashion jewellery.
We didn't do any trips, as we really just wanted 1 week in the sun by the pool, and that's exactly what we got. Would I go back? Maybe, if I get another cheap last minute deal, but maybe not as my 'main' holiday for that year.
Oh, and also be careful when booking - there is also the Bellevue complex which looked grim to me (though didn't stay there so can't comment).

We stayed here in October 2013, the weather was still between 28-30 degrees every day, everything was still open all though is was coming to the end of season and the hotel staff were all lovely and very welcoming.

** Please note if you are going in October the island on the lake isn't open. We were not told this when we booked but it was closed for winter when we arrived**

First things first the hotel overall was very clean!
The bedrooms are cleaned daily even if you put the do not disturb sign on the door.
The pool and sun lounge area is cleaned and jet washed every day.
Could not fault at all for cleanliness.

Food is average, some nights was good and others were not. However there was always something to eat! Great selection of bread and fruit, also they put in a lot of effort with the deserts.

Room is very clean and also very modern. We had a lovely balcony and the decor in the room was very modern. We also had a flat screen TV in our room which was great. We was on the 4th floor with a great view of the lake and pool.

Entertainment in the hotel is brilliant, the bands and acts they hire are great. They also play bingo most evenings to win a bottle of wine!

The beach is a 10 minute walk away from the hotel, it is a nice walk down the high street with loads of shops and hire places. The hotel also provides a free mini bus service which takes you to the beach and picks you up generally every half an hour / hour.

Alcudia is a lovely place in Mallorca, we have visited other parts of Mallorca but Alcudia is definitely the place to go. Great for couples, family's and older people, there is everything to suit all ages!

The beach offers lots of activities, these include banana boating, ringos, skiing, jet skis, parasailing, paddle boarding, kayaks, pedlos and loads loads more!!

I would rate this hotel 3 out of 5. It is really only the food that slightly lets it down and the beach being a short walk away. Other than that it is perfect!

Room Tip: Rooms which look out to the pool area on floor 4 have just been decorated, lovely, fresh and modern!

We went to here 29 years ago thought we go back an see if it had got any better. We were disappointed the food was awful then an still is now. We ate out most nights the food was horrible an waiting to get drinks from the bar for 10 to 15 mins not acceptable. The rooms an hotel lovely an clean although our bathroom was very small you could sit on the toilet an wash your hands at the same time. The bath a child of 5 may have been able to sit in. No food available after 9 although someone did say on the coach if you knew how to get in the dining room through the back way you could get some. The island bar the food was poor and finished at 6 although most days after 5 the food was just left an not replenished. I certainly will not be returning
