Just back from this hotel and having read all the reviews they are all spot on,tips like pool view is a must. Also staff are very friendly. As regards restaurants Hawaii around the corner from the Ivory Playa does simple Pizza, pastas and meat dishes and are very inexpensive but very tasty,Portofino down in the port was good but without a doubt get a taxi up to the old town rough cost 6-7 euro and the choice and scenary was amazing. We had 6 adults &3 kids and with 2 bottles of wine and drinks for the kids it was costing about 120-130 euro all in.The kids club is amazing and with the choice of 3 pools it never felt crowded. We did not rent a car or do any trips as the the kids did not want to leave the hotel, kids ages were 3,5,7.We arrived at midnight to the hotel and with all the hussle of travelling with 3 kids and 6 bags we managed to leave our stroller on the bus totally our own fault,we only noticed it gone the next day,we contacted reception and they gave us the use of a stroller for a week free of charge. In fairness to Falcon travel we got our stroller back 5 days later.Just on the downside the sofa beds are not comfortable,we let the kids have the main bedroom just from a security point of view, but we are in Spain so no bed is going to be as nice as your own.80% to 90% business is repeat business and we have already decided to book the Ivory Playa again next year.

Room Tip: Pool view a must

As with other reviews of this hotel I have just positive things to say about the staff and facilities. A great family place and the addition of the spa is a great asset to the hotel, also the heated pool was very welcome as the weather was unpredictable and on the cool side. A wonderful holiday in a special place and sad to leave it.

Room Tip: Try to make sure you actually book a pool view when making initial booking!

We stayed here for one week, and booked a studio. This was a twin room with a kitchen unit. It had enough utensils to cook a simple meal. So if you want to stay self catering it is a good option. Also because there is a supermarket across the street. The room was cleaned every day, except Wednesdays, but we nevertheless got clean towels that day. Most days we had breakfast at the restaurant and it had a great selection of food, cold and warm. There was live cooking were you could get a fried egg, an omelet or pancake. During our stay most of the guests were families with smal children or elderly people. There was an animation programm which we didn't participate, so we can't judge about it. Around the corner is a great beach which we preferred, so we didn't use the two pools (one heated). For diner we catched the bus to old Alcudia. The bus stop was right in front of the hotel and it took about 10, 15 minutes to get there (1,50 Euro single trip). Old Alcudia is a beautiful smal town with lots of nice restaurants, much more atmosphere than Port Alcudia.

Ivory Playa is a great place to stay, especially because of the staff. Their standard of service is exceptionally. It looks like (or maybe it is) they have a lot of fun doing their jobs. The management should be aware that their staff is very valuable.

The only minus is the busy road. We prefer to sleep with an open window, but this wasn't possible because of the road. When the windows were closed it was okay. We found out that the studios are al situated at the road side, so next time we would book another type of room at the pool side.

Myself and my husband stayed in Ivory Playa for 11 nights. The Hotel is well situated between Alcudia port and Playa de Muro. No more than 15-20 minutes walk to a wide array of restaurants. The beach just around the corner is the best stretch in the area. The hotel is clean and well kept with daily cleaning and good comfortable beds. Any questions or queries we had were answered very quickly by courteous and very helpful staff. When it appeared that our transfer back to the airport had forgotten to collect us the manager on duty was very helpful - confirming our transfers and giving us a copy of the confirmation in case we need to claim from the transfer company (thank you Peter!). We went self catering so we did not use the food services much as we dined out most nights but the dining area was packed from what we could see most nights - a good sign. The only negative was that families with kids had a tendency to allow the kids to run up and down the corridors very early in the morning. Not really the hotels fault but perhaps a ‘quiet policy’ could be in place that some hotels use (no noise allowed between certain times) - again just to remind some guests that not everyone wants to be woken up at 6am in the morning! Every member of staff that we met was courteous, helpful and always smiling. We did not have kids but it appeared that the hotel clearly caters for families first and foremost with kid’s entertainment and pool etc. We would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: If possible pay the little bit extra for a garden/pool view room on a higher floor.

I've just returned from the Ivory Playa with my husband, 3 year old and 9 month old. The hotel is lovely, spotlessly clean and very friendly staff. Rooms were cleaned everyday except Wednesdays to a high standard. We stayed self catering and had a 2 ring hob to cook on which to be honest was more than adequate as I was t planning on spending my holiday slaving over a hot stove so to speak. There was also a fridge with freezer compartment in the room. The kitchen had plenty of cutlery and utensils.

The windows and balcony doors were very very good as you could have them swinging open (as normal) or they could be opened vertically so the children couldn't get onto the balcony but you still had plenty of fresh air. There was good air con in the room and a safe. The beds were two large singles pushed together which was fine and what I expect when I'm in Spain. There was also 2 comfy sofas and one could be used as a bed. We also had a flat screen tv with english channels bbc 1 & 2, ITV, cbeebies & movies for men. Like the hob we found this more than adequate as even when it rained we didn't plan on staying in watching tv!

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the strip of shops and restaurants and a further 15 minutes at least from the port of Alcudia which has a lot more to offer. Then the old town is about another 10 minutes from the port. On a bus though it takes no more than 10 minutes all the way to the old town and will cost you €1.50 per adult. Taxis cost around €6 and we were lucky enough to share with other holiday makers curtting thr cost. Again the distance didn't bother us, we walked to the strip or bussed/taxi it to the old town and port. We liked the location of the hotel as it was lovely and quiet and nobody that had been on Jeremy Kyle could be found within at least a mile :D yes there is a very busy road outside but it didn't bother us in the slightest (our room faced the road) and we all slept fine. The beach is right on the other side of the hotel, 30 seconds to walk. The pool was always clean with lots of beds available and it was never overcrowded.

We only tried the food once from the bar and it was lovely and fresh. The entertainment was ok but not the greatest and I'd say this was the only negative I can find to write about the ivory playa. Most guests were German or Dutch when we stayed but hey, they were all lovely and friendly.

All in all we had a great holiday and are hopefully returning to the ivory playa next year with family and friends.

10/10 again. Never let down with this place. Spotless clean, great for kids, good entertainment, plenty of daytime activities for adults and kids and right beside a beautiful beach. The staff here are one of the best I've ever encountered at any hotel.. Always smiling and very helpful. Hope to come back again soon. Would I recommend the ivory playa to family and friends??? Absolutely yes.
