“Perfect family holiday”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

This hotel is of a very high standard, the hotel and rooms are very nice decorated lovely and immaculately clean. The furniture is decent to.
We stayed for 7 nights All Inclusive and we never ate out once as the food was outstanding, breakfast you could get bacon, eggs, sausages etc or cereals, fruits and yoghurts for the healthier holiday makers unlike my hubby and son who were in heaven with the pancakes and waffles. Prosecco is also available at breakfast. At lunch we chose to dine at the pool bar the food was very nice and there was a good choice of burgers, lovely salads chicken kebabs, lasanga etc and everthing from spaghetti bolognaise to chicken nuggets for the kids. Dinner in the evening is a buffet which was varied and delicious.
We stayed in a one bedroom premium apartment which was gorgeous and very clean however the sofa beds are not comfortable at all and I really would not recommend them for more than a few nights. We were facing the road which dis not bother us at all as it was so quiet. We were offered a room upgrade but did not take it to be honest it is not worth the extra money as you are rarely in your room and the garden apartments are surrounded by hornets.
There is plenty to keep the kids entertained the kids club is brilliant, the staff never stop and work really long days, the pirate splash pool is great. The adults only pool is amazing, it's gorgeous and the fact it's next to the kids pool didn't bother me at all.
I used the Spa and had a full body massage which was simply lovely it was quite expensive overpriced really but I was on holiday and chose to indulge. Margo was lovely.
The service was very good and the waiters were lovely Jaun and Sebas stand out they were very friendly the only critism I can make is that on an evening it is table service which yes is lovely however these guys were so busy it was taking over 30 mins to get a drink that in the end we were going to the bar inside. This should be looked at.
The location of this hotel is perfect it is a 5 min walk to the beach which is absolutely stunning along with the port.

Overall we had a lovely family holiday this hotel is aimed at families so if you are looking for a quiet break then don't go, had a few people giving us scornful glances when my 23 month old son made a bit of noise... The staff were great with him by the way.
We loved it and we were sad to go we have already looked at prices for next year however giving my son will be 2 then the price has rocketed and I am not willing to pay £1000 extra for the same room.... If I am paying full price for him then he should have a bed and not a sofa bed which is really hard. It is a very high standard hotel but it is expensive worth staying all inclusive.

Room Tip: Get a 2 bed apartment but don't bother with the room upgrade the pool view means it's noisy...

Just returned from a 10 day break at Viva Tropic and come away very impressed. We arrived late on a Sunday night and were offered an upgrade which we took. Our two boys (aged 7 & 9) have had the time of their lives. Kids entertainment is offered throughout the day should they wish to join in and the pools offer great fun for all the family. We stayed self catering & enjoyed a great selection of restaurants in the port and old town however did eat twice from the a la carte restaurant at the hotel, which was delicious. Have noticed some other reviewers commenting on poor service from bar staff which we did encounter on a couple of occasions (not all staff) but this should not put off others from what is a great hotel, catering well for families.

All in all this was a great family holiday and we are considering returning next year!

Room Tip: Room 2204 offers great pool views and is very spacious.

Great hotel..perfect location, friendly staff, kids will love it, but if older than 10_12 years, something is missing for them to do. a little too expensive if you buy terrace apartment. But wont find better place in alcudia.

We had a great time with kids playing in the pools or enjoying the many activities.

The lunch restaurant is not a good choice but the dinner a la carte is reasonably priced and a good choice with evening shows.

The housekeeping was ok. Workout was small but well maintained.

The reception is not to standards. They give wrong information when they do not know and there is no point in telling them about things to be arranged like missing linens or lightbulbs (catch the service-minded maids instead). The most serious issue was their lack of control with airport transfer organized by themselves. We waited 55 minutes after agreed pickup time (confirmed twice) and they took no responsibility for their shortcomings and only repeated over and over again that it "would be in 5-10 more minutes" which made our return travel very stressful. We made it to the plane with minimum margin and high pulse.

If it had not been for that last impression we would probably go back again as it was the most complete family hotel facilities we have seen.

Just got home from a 10 night stay. We stayed self catering myself, husband and son first Impressions where excellent, room a little small but immaculately clean and had all the amenities we needed. Hotel grounds where fabulous, garden, adult pool, golf, play area, kids pool and a main pool also plenty of sunbeds :) small on site supermarket, pool bar offering snacks and main restaurant. We decided not to book all inclusive as we like to get out and about and sample restaurants in the resort so cannot comment on food. Hotel staff where helpful, friendly and accomodatiing would definitely return. The resort itself was lovely, loads of restaurants, nice beach and prom and lovely harbour to admire the many yachts!! Michael Schumacher's was docked when we stayed.

Me and my mum and son of 4 have just come back from a very good holiday at the Viva Tropic.

The only criticism was the poor service when we first arrived. Our plane was delayed and we arrived at 1.30am, my son was asleep around my arms and the man on reception did not offer to help with the luggage and watched me struggle with the cases and my son asleep. I do not think this is acceptable for a 4 star hotel. He also then programmed out cards incorrectly so we had to go back down to reception to ask for help. Having payed the same price as an adult for my son I was disappointed to see a pull out bed in the same room as me and my mum. We had to share a double bed also. We then thought this was going to be an unpleasant holiday.

Fortunately the rest of the staff made up for our negative experience. The food was fantastic and we were spoilt for choice. The waiters made an extra effort with my son joking around with him and making him giggle. The hotel was very much for families and was perfect for us.

Location wise we were close to the beach and also served well with busses if you wanted to explore as we did.

There were activities for the kids all day and my son was very well entertained.

I would visit again it was just a shame to have such a poor start!

We have just come back from a fab holiday at Viva Tropic. We have stayed at Viva Hotel every year for the last seven years & this was our second visit to Tropic.
This hotel is fantastic. I can't understand other reviews about unpleasant hotel staff as this wasn't our experience at all. In fact totally the opposite, they were extremely friendly and helpful. We were all inclusive and I felt we were treated exactly the same as those 'paying' in the bar and restaurant.
We stayed in a Royal Terrace apartment, which I can highly recommend.
The entertainment staff were great & work extremely hard. The shows were good on the nights the viva Flying Team performed, but I wasn't very impressed with a couple of the other shows.

All in all, a fab hotel and location. We will definitely be returning to Viva!
