“Good Holiday”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

My wife and I and our 12 year old daughter had a very good 14 night holiday at the Mariners in july.
The staff were all very friendly the pool was clean and the food we ate there was very good and the food and drinks are well priced. The room we had size wise for the 3 of us was fine but basic, it could realy do with a re-vamp.We had to purchace the air con which helped a lot but i believe this would be better if included in the package.
The Mariners is a fair walk to the beach, harbour and Belle Vue strip but we didnt mind and there are a few shops, spar, eroski(better value) and The Queens bar within easy reach.
Get on the ting ting train which stops across from the Spar for an easy ride about.Adult 3€.
Alcudia is a lovely resort and the Mariners is a good hotel ideal for familys we enjoyed our time there.
Ps Us Brits are getting worse at claiming sun loungers, its amazing how early people get up to claim one!! Enjoy

Dear Redstartreeton,

We really appreciate your positive review and the kind words towards us and our resort.

We are very happy to learn that you had a great time and enjoyed your stay with us.

About the air con... it is up to thomson to include it in the package, if not we can´t help it as we are a small resort with limited resources.

We hope you and your family come back and stay with us in the near future so you can enjoy another fantastic holiday.

Kind regqards from all mariner club staff.

I went on the 16th July for 7 nts with my partner and 13yr son and was in room 12 the room was big enough for the three of us it was basic but only paid £740 so can't complain if I wanted a 5* room I would have gone there.. we paid for the air con which was heaven on a night...we didn't get bite once by Mosquitos which surprised me because of the canals and trees you will get loads but we took lots of repellent with us.. All the staff was great the entertainment on a night was good too we was next to the bar and it didn't keep us awake on a night (if it bothers others take ear plugs) my only compliant was the walk to the beach everyday in the heat my son and I called it the death mile but that was my partners fault for wanting to go haha.. Overall I can't knock the hotel we got what we paid for, it was very friendly n clean and everyone was so chilled out and we would definitely go back... If people want 4* or 5* factilities then book another hotel don't book this one then complain about it after

Dear Kelly,

I would like to take the chance to thank you for your positive review on our resort.
Also we appreciate your kind words on our hard working staff and about our resort. Many people forget the amount of money they pay to stay with us, we are a small resort with small resources and a tight budget, but we try our best to make all our guests very welcome and have a holiday to remember.

We really look forward to seeing you and your family again in the near future.

Kind regards from all mariner club staff.

Where do i begin......after reading a few bad reviews about Mariner Club we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The reception area was clean & tidy and we were greeted by a friendly guy (not sure of his name) even though it was 4:30 in the morning. Our room was clean, tidy & spacious, beds were a little hard, but didn't bother us. The maids came every other day with clean towels & had a tidy round, bed linen was changed once a week. The grounds & pool area were kept in good condition & the pool was cleaned daily, was a bit of a chore getting sun beds as everyone either got them late night or early morning so all the good spots were taken, on our last day though they lock & chained them until 8am which was a good idea, could have done with more parasols though, not enough to go around (needed if you have young children to shade them) The hotel entertainment team was great, Amanda does a great job with the kids & adults keeping them entertained with kids disco to pool, darts, water polo and much more. Food was lovely at the bar & well priced as were the drinks & the team in the hotel were so friendly & helpful. Its about a 15 min walk to the beach/port or you can take the 'Ting, Ting Train' from across the road which will take you around most of Alcudia main resort for 3 euros (adult) 1.20 euros (child). Alucdia Old Town is about a 1/2 to 3/4 hour walk or you can catch the bus there (really busy on market days) but well worth a look. If you have read bad reports on the Mariners (as we did), don't be put off, we had a lovely family holiday there & would return without a doubt.

Room Tip: If you have young children, try get a room away from main terrace as the entertainment finishes arou...

Our party was 5 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 10 yr old, a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old.
This is a family orientated hotel. All staff are English speaking and incredibly accommodating. There is a central pool with plenty of sun lounges. That said, poor disrespectful English holiday makers have forced the hotel to chain up the sun loungers until about 9.15am because people were putting towels out the night before then not coming to the beds until late. It only takes a couple of idiots to spoil it for everyone.

Amanda is the entertainment. I have yet to meet another person who is more naturally gifted at making people of all ages feel welcome and a part of the activities. Personally, I don't really do entertainment but it wasn't obtrusive and the kids club is great. Activities run throughout the day with a rolling programme of entertainment on an evening that means if you are staying for two weeks you won't have the same entertainment twice. In the three years of coming here Amanda fails to seem to age and her energy is infectious, especially in the kids disco.

The restaurant staff are tirelessly helpful. The hours that they work and the heat they are working in and they still manage to meet you with a smile and welcome. They are even tolerant of our somewhat unique brand of Spanish. The real show stopper is Allan (apologises if this is spelt wrong) and Alfonso. We follow some simple rules of being courteous at all times, tipping small amounts, more rounding up the bill, and we have found them to be simply really good people to know. I genuinely enjoy spending time in their company.

The reception staff are really helpful. Some are better than others, but bearing in mind they tend to take the brunt of any issues they do a remarkable job. They helped us save a lot of euros (no disrespect to Thomsons) by helping us with local transport. We had great days out in Inca (€3.30) and Palma (€6) per adult. It gave us the flexibility to take the day at our leisure.

Attractions: Pirates adventure, although expensive, was breathtakingly good. If you can afford it pay a bit more to sit in the middle. We sat at the side and the next time we come we will pay a bit more to sit in the middle. Palma is a beautiful city and the Inca market is massive. We enjoy the Orange Blossom trip for something calming with access to the stunning views of Mallorca.

Finally the reps here are outstanding. This year it is Hanna. We have had quite a struggle with passports and printing boarding cards etc. and although I'm not the kind of guy who gets worked up about that kind of thing, Hanna was fantastic in ringing around to check everything would be OK at the airport. Her knowledge of the area and the best places to go is second to none. I found myself speaking to her for some time as she is genuinely a pleasant outgoing person. Easily approachable and willing to help if she can.

Excellent value for money, clean rooms, clean pool, reasonably priced food and drink. And we are not the only people who come here year after year. Actually, maybe I should be quiet, it might book up and we won't be able to go. That said we will be going into the travel agent to book again as soon as we get home.

Room Tip: Email the hotel if you have any specific requirements. We needed a room that was close to reception...

dear Paul,

I would like to thank you very much for your excelent review on our resort and staff. We are very happy to hear you had a great time. It is our goal to make all our guests welcome and have a holiday to remember, especially with our repeat guests because we love to see familiar faces again. It´s a real pleasure for us.

Your review will be very helpful for future guests, they will know what to expect from your experience.

About the sun loungers... we have been forced to take that measure due to many complaints from guests reserving the sunbeds at 4-5-6 o´clock in the morning. Now we have complaints because the sunbeds are tied up. We are never going to be in a win possition with this situation, but at least it´s fair that everybody has a chance to get one in the morning.

Also a big thank you for the great comments and kind words towards our hard working staff, we really appreciate it when guests point it out and realise.

Again, big thank you and we really appreciate your review and the time spent in writting it, we sincerely hope to see you for your 4th stay with us and that its as good or better as the 3 previous ones!!

Kind regards from all mariner club staff.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at Mariners club - I must admit I was a little anxious to what I would find after reading some reviews but the place was fantastic! We had an absolute ball, Amanda the kids entertainer was brill! Staff were really friendly and never passed you without saying hello (or ola :P) Hannah the thomsons rep was such a lovely girl too, always there if anyone needed her, apartments themselves were clean, well looked after, as our flight home was a late one, we spent the day by the pool and seen the rooms being cleaned which are done so really well! entertainment shows were also very much enjoyable, and for someone who isn't really a fan of bingo I couldn't wait to play it each night! 10/10 and already looking to book again for next year :D we went with our kids (6, 4 & 2) who also loved it and cant wait to go back :)
