“Nice hotel right on the beach”
Reviewed 24 January 2013 via mobile

I stayed here for 1 night. It's an adult only hotel which is right on the beach. Food is nice, rooms are quite classy but don't let the front of the hotel put you off. See past this and you've got a nice hotel. There is no gym or indoor pool so bare that in mind if you're coming out of season.

Dear MediaMotos,
Thank you very much for having written your opinion about our Vanity Hotel Golf and we are glad that your stay was successful. Regarding your comments about the lack of gym and swimming pool, we are pleased to inform you that since the spring of 2014 our facilities have been increased with a gym of 60 m2 fully equipped for exercise, and especially suitable for cyclists. Similarly, also since last winter, our outdoor pool is heated up to a temperature of 28 degrees during the winter months. Hoping to welcoming you again in Vanity Golf,
Yours faithfully.

A lovely adult only hotel, we stayed here for our last holiday as a couple before having our son and it is an excellent location. Right on the beach with gates from the pool/garden areas leading right on to the beach. The hotel food is excellent and the weekly barbecue located around the pool is amazing, they decorate the whole area and the food is lovely. We did not opt for a roof top terrace room but they look amazing and if we do return we would definitely opt for one of these.

We splashed out on one of the 11 suites with private rooftop terrace. Although initially disappointed by the space (more on that later) we relaxed into it and thoroughly enjoyed the extra level and sitting up there after a day on the beach with a glass of cava looking across at the beach was nothing short of bliss.
This may be a bit picky but our suite was the second one along the corridor from the lifts and quite near the corner. my first impressions of the view was looking down on other guests balconys in the right hand wing. The best suites would be those in the middle of the block with an unobstructed view out to the ocean. The corner suites are obstructed by the hotel wings both left and right. However, after a couple of days I started to notice the positive part of the view out to the ocean.
I was also disappointed in the room itself as it was small for a suite, so thank goodness for the additional space provided by the terrace. The sitting area and bedding are very tired looking and the bathroom was small.
I also didn't find the room that clean when we first arrived but perhaps they just hadn't finished the job that day because the toiletries and mini bar drinks were also missing. During the rest of our stay the room was cleaned to a high standard as was every other part of the hotel, restaurant and grounds.
Complimentary to the suite was one fill of all the drink in the mini bar which was a nice touch and three puzzling apples in a bowl!!
We were staying on a bed and breakfast rate and the breakfasts were absolutely fantastic every day. We ate in the sister restaurant next door a couple of times for dinner and it was also very good.
All the staff we encountered at the hotel were not only very professional, they were friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make your stay perfect.
The hotel location couldn't be better situated for a beach holiday, literally out the hotel back gate and right on the clean, sandy, safe beach. It's not a private beach so you are sharing it with families but it is a bit right by the hotel than further along to the right of the hotel where it gets very busy.
The resort of Port D'Alcudia was bustling and full of good places to eat. There didn't appear to be any nightclubs in the port area, it was definitely geared toward young families, though dining was later, peaking at about nine o clock.
We walked into Old Alcudia a few times both during the day and evening as it ticks all the character boxes. We also found a great selection of athentic restaurants away from the touristy crowd of the Port.
All in all it was a lovely relaxing holiday, we are professionals in our 40s and the break definitely charged the batteries. I'm not sure I'd return to Port D' Alcudia anytime soon though because it really is a resort geared toward young families. But if I did, I would have no hesitation in booking Vanity Golf again....

Room Tip: The suites with private terrace are nice for the extra room and views but try and reserve one that i...

Awesome hotel. My wife and I went for a short stay. Staff super friendly Victor and Xavier. The hotel was used by the Team GB cycling team as a training base. Lots of great bikes to hire locally (EUR26 for a fully carbon road bike) and great roads for amazing routes. We upgraded to a suite on arrival and as it was anniversary received a gift from the hotel - lovely! the hotel is 4m from the beach. Alcudia is small and nice, not too busy. The hotel is the best place to eat in the area IMO. going back? absolutely!

If you are thinking of visiting Mallorca, do yourself a favor, rent a car or take a bus to the Port D'Alcudia and stay at the Vanity Golf Hotel. Its a 30-40 minute trip from Palma; a very easy drive.

The staff at the Vanity Golf was exceptional. Ilona, Gabor, & Victor at reception (fluent in multiple languages) had the answers to all of our questions or went out of their way to find the answers. Their recommendations were spot on and helped in making reservations for restaurants and the spa.

They have free excursions from the hotel and Hilde took us on bike tours and hiking tours, then came back to host mini golf and bocce.

If there was one thing that sets this hotel apart from others, it is their attention to the small details. The nice glass of Cava when you arrive, daily fresh squeezed fruit juice they serve poolside along with frozen towels (all complimentary of course). There were board games, billiards, live entertainment daily in their lounge, etc. You always had something to do in case you were bored with the beach; and the resort town is right outside your door to go walking, shopping, or for a drink at the many bars around the area.

There are 2 restaurants within the hotel. The main cafeteria and the Mirablau, an outdoor restaurant. Both have extensive menus and the quality is above average....again staff friendly and go out of their way to make your experience special.

The language barrier was never a problem for us. All menus are written in multiple languages, staff at restaurants speak english, and there are many folks from england who visit so there is interesting conversation.

Make sure to take the time to explore the medieval castle in the town of Alcudia, the lighthouse overlooking the cliffs at Formentor (nice beach there too), and the early roman city of Pollenca.

My wife and I came back to the USA relaxed, refreshed, and cant wait to go back and when we do, we will be staying at the Vanity Golf Hotel.

Room Tip: The Royal Terrace suite was perfect for us, but you will enjoy a balcony room facing the ocean on an...

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Vanity Golf Hotel from the 8th August until the 15th August half board and we definitely were not disappointed. Generally, we thought it was a very good hotel with beautiful surroundings, very attentive helpful staff in a good location.

I had been in contact with the hotel a few weeks prior to our stay as we had only been able to book a basic room through Alpharooms and we wanted to upgrade. I initially made contact with Xavier at reception and I have to say his customer service was excellent - he was very helpful and even at the busiest time of the year he was able to accommodate our requests to the best of his ability.

On arrival we were welcomed with a unexpected glass of chilled Cava and the reception staff were all very friendly and helpful - before we had even finished checking in, our bags had been whisked up to our rooms. They were more than happy to give us advice on the location area.

The room itself was beautiful with a lovely view over the whole bay - it was room 401 - not one of the Royal Terrace suites but a larger than average room overlooking the beach and the pool area.

We personally were very impressed with the pool area - at no point did we struggle to find sun loungers during our stay - at any time of the day. The life guard on duty was also very attentive to the needs of the guests, handing out additional towels, during the afternoon handing out frozen facecloths to cool you down, and bring around watermelon shots late on in the afternoon. It was definitely that little extra touch. The pool certainly isnt an olympic-size pool or anything but for us all we wanted to do was to take a short dip every now and again to cool down. For this purpose it was perfect. We loved the Polyensian style beds that sat overlooking the beach and the lovely candles they lit around the pool in the evening.

The food was definitely good - I am not a fan of going half-board so for me to say that is a complement to the hotel! There was always a good choice both at breakfast and dinner as well as a good variation. I loved the way they have a summer bbq every wednesday where they put all the tables out into the pool area. We also had lunch a few times and their lunch menu was sophisticated but not over-priced.

The hotel provided entertainment most evenings - they had singers on most of the time - I was pleasantly surprised by this as in recent years most hotels I have stayed in have cut live entertainment to save on costs - so this we enjoyed the odd evening.

The location was excellent only a 15 minute walk from the Old Town and even less of a walk to the Port - and the beach is literally on your door step! I thought the beach was lovely - it was very clean and well-kept and there were little beach bars every 500 metres or so where you could stop to cool off or have a drink.

The majority of the guests staying in the hotel were German - there were very few British guests while we were there. Also it is an adult-only hotel therefore the pool area was always very quiet and peaceful and all the lights within the resort were turned off between 12am and 1am - but this suited us as wanted a nice peaceful break away!

Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. It was a beautiful hotel with a lovely reception and pool area. The staff were excellent and we do have to give a special mention to Xavier at reception as we did pester him a little bit with requests but he went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.

Definitely the best hotel in Alcudia in our opinion!Well worth a visit!

Room Tip: Definitely room 401 in my opinion best view from the hotel

My wife and I have just returned from 11 day stay at Vanity Golf and came home very pleased indeed with our holiday and choice of hotel. First time we have stayed at an adult only. Ive written quite a bit here below to be helpful and added various photos. I noted a previous review with a 1 star – but that was their isolated opinion having stayed one night. Form your own opinion from rest of reviews – this is ours and believe me I am fussy.

Hotel is on road into Puerto Alcudia (10 min walk). Reception staff were very welcoming indeed and gave good first impression – helped of course by a glass of cold cava. Check in process was swift and good explanation provided of key features of the hotel, which has just 117 rooms.

We needed to pay for a safe which was €2 per day (plus €5 deposit for key), which on reflection seems a little petty when the cost of hotel is above average (and WiFi is free, fridge was free).

We had room 211 (ground was floor 1) and paid extra for pool/sea view, but most of rooms except those facing garden had a view. Garden views were to the side and each had pedestrian paths close by and nearer the back was closer to road. Room was very nice with plenty of cupboard and drawers for two people. Beds were comfortable for us, although we werent too impressed with the air conditioning which we would have preferred lower. There is an in-room controller that restricts the extent it could be lowered and although during our stay we asked for it to be adjusted we didnt really feel it improved too much and it needed to be on quite a while to feel the benefit. Fridge came with room (although not very cold – but adequate) and on arrival it had 2 cokes and 2 beers complementary which were appreciated. Had to pay for safe (around €2.3 I think per day plus €5 returnable deposit) – given price of hotel we would have expected the safe to be included. Bathroom had plenty of toiletries, hairdryer which was of fair quality and power (so my wife said). Shower was a little weak on hot but cooler was much more powerful. BBC and ITV and Sky News on TV if you needed it.

Room backed onto corridor (see picture) which then backed onto road – we didnt hear traffic at all – and if we had there is an internal door we could use (we didnt need it).

We stayed B&B and breakfast was very good indeed with everything you would need (whatever your nationality). Without children the breakfast room was very pleasant was calm you can sit out on the terrace if you wanted to. No rushing around by anyone and everyone very respectful of each other. Wonderful.

Towels are provided on all sun beds (which had good mattresses) and each pair had umbrella and table, plus in the gardens over looking beach there were several double beds and 4 poster style for a bit of extra style of comfort – you can obtain towels for beach also (so no need to bring towels unless you like your own too). Towels are changed every day. No rushing for beds ever although some had preferred spot – also great compared to previous hotels. The staff place towels on beds for you around 9 and majority of people emerged after breakfast and around 9.30. Everything was civilised and it takes a little getting used to. During the day there always seemed to be sun beds spare and pool attendant could always be helpful for you too. During the morning you were provided with cold refreshing towels as a nice touch. There were two pools neither very big but never more than a few people at a time in them. Very pleasant and good temperature too and very clean – as were the gardens and pool area and generally everywhere in the hotel.

The gardens overlooked the glorious beach, a pedestrian path in between (path runs to the Port and other direction as far as eye could see). Beach was cleaned every day and water was clear and warm with Blue Flag. Beach quite wide with sun beds to hire etc if needed. Quite a few people but as beach was so big and stretched so far there was plenty of room. Wonderful.

Most of guests were Scandanavian or German but there were British but nowhere near as many – which we preferred. Most guests were in couples of various age groups. Very few with over 18 children but there were a handful. Most people kept to themselves other than pleasantry greetings and clearly there for relaxation. Everyone polite and respectful.

During the day there was a game of putting (9 hole artificial surface) and French Bowls plus Yoga and Pilates in the morning plus for the more energetic walks and cycling was organised (hotel was location for GB cycling team before Olympics we believe). We met a few people on first two attended by a few regulars (mostly Swedish) which was bit of fun and break from sun bathing – and were always made feel welcome and of course everyone speaks English as a second language. Those running the activities (Yanna and Hilda) were great as were the regulars (been the hotel each year for many years) including Bo, Bjorn and Rodney to name a few who made our stay great.

WiFi was available for free (you are given a code) and worked in our room (albeit was on low 'power' here) and by the pool of you so needed.

Hotel meals we heard were good, and there is a gala night where the pool area is decked out with a great deal of care for residents. See picture. We heard food was great. Also, we didn’t stay in much for entertainment, but this is fairly low key but very pleasant reflecting the clientele.

Out and about – Port is where the nice restaurants are and that was 10 mins walk. So many to choose from but a little more expense that those further away. Can walk along beach prom and sometimes was easier and when returning to hotel can walk along shore line too. So very nice to end the evening. The Old Town is around 20/25mins steady walk – to get there turn right out of hotel then left at lights and keep walking. We did this twice and it feels a way in the heat and you need to cross few roundabouts too (be careful at crossings). On Sunday and Tuesday there is a market and Old Town is a very pleasant visit for a meal. There is a bus service (Number 2) that takes you from hotel to market and back again etc. The buses are crowded with people travelling from Muro to the Port so we walked to Port and can get bus there. Cost to Old Town was €1.50 each way – bus stop is at lower end of Old Town (return bus goes down the hill so get on right side if using it – and queues come from everywhere it seems).

Overall we had a superb holiday and would certainly consider returning. So odd to have adults only and peace, no shouting, no bad language just so very civilised and restful – just how a holiday should be. I struggled to find negatives – but then holiday was not cheap – but I would go back for sure. Thank you Vanity Golf.
