Reviewed 11 June 2012

Kid friendly family orientated hotel, but busy.
Very good place for kids and families. Room was adequate, food was good, choice was good, cleanliness was good, hotel was always cleaned regularly. Bars are sometimes busy but the cues do go down quick. We did the two hour boat trip which was nice to get out of the sunshine, this would also be suitable if a cold day. Take your swimming stuff as you do get chance for a dip. If you show the Club Mac reception your excursion receipt you get a decent pack lunch (the unmarked tin is tuna!). Any leftover bread we had, we fed to the seagulls of the boat and the fish when we stopped.
Good Points
So much to do, everyday there were many activities to do, the Dads tended to do the shooting and pool games, polo, etc. Most of the kids activities in the Club Mac Village are free. There is a club run by First Choice also that can be paid for 5-10 Euros which you can leave your children in for 3 hours. This was great on hot days for getting your kids out of the sunshine as their building was also air conditioned and cool.
Free bus to and from the hotel just ran all day. The beach was very clean the sea was clear and clean, very nice. Walk out of the hotel gates and turn left until you get to Burger King, then walk back along the parallel road towards many shops and you eventually get to the old canals.
The swimming pools were a little cold, but there were so many different places to sit by the pool you could spend days pool hopping. There is a park area on campus, great for tiring out excited kids, theres a small market daily by the lakeside.
Bad Points
Agreed with previous comments that some other families get drunk whilst their kids run riot. So when your telling your kids not to run on the stage steps all you get is “but they are doing it”. Was shocked that some other parents did not mind their young children (5 year olds) unplugging and plugging in the arcade machines by themselves if they weren’t working. Other families tended to have no respect when returning home at night and were excessively loud. There are a lot of children there, if you don’t like kids, seriously don’t go.

Tips
Don’t sit by the kids pools if your not prepared to get splashed occasionally. The hotel sells water pistols which have quite a fair range. I saw a few cross faces round the kids pool after they had got a soaking! My view is, move away from the kids area if you are not prepared to get a splash!
Haggle at Alcudia market, before asking a price for an item, think what you would pay for it, I saw a top I would pay 20 euros for, he asked for 60, I refused to pay more than 20 and got it at 20. I would have walked away if it was any more.
Pedalos by the lake - are free 10am til 1pm. Not the motor boat though.
Hair braiding – it hurts! Take a brush and brush your hair through before they do it as they really don’t take care and rip your hair if it is not brushed. I paid 10 euros on the prom for half my head (starting price was 20).
Give your kids a t-shirt to wear in the pools, it really is hot and I saw many burnt children.
Take a taxi to Port D’Alcudia which is their main promenade strip. Here is where you find many restaurants and shops. There is also a fun fair part, many hair braiders, a small play park and other street traders (sunglasses, flashy rings etc.) something I wish I had done early on in the holidays as we only got chance to do it once.

Some other reviewers have complained at lack of entertainment indoors on cold evenings. Please be
aware that there are other entertainments frequently available within hotel complex, these people must have missed them off the information boards and sheets.
Overall it can be pretty hectic if you actually try and get all the activities in, it’s also suitable if you just want to lie round the pool, but it isn’t quiet. I think If we didn’t have reasonable weather we might have got bored after a couple of days.

i have just returned from Club Mac and was astounded by the hotel grounds as to just how good the pools were and things for you to do, if I have one critisism and it is only one, it is the outside entertainment, from 8pm onwards til 9.30 it is just the resident man messing about trying his best to entertain the under 6's (and there are lots of them running around!) the bingo is on from 9pm every night, but most nights they drag it out until around 9.30 or later to start it. the show comes on around 9.45 ish which to be fair was reasonable, mostly tribute acts. If you want a quiet drink there are other bars to sit though, and throughout the day the food is just out of this world! there is far too much choice

Ive noticed that every time someone leaves a negative review many excellent reviews follow name calling people who have left the negatives

Just to clarify we are your normal working class family who are far from snobs and this is out honest accurate review of how we felt our 2 week holiday went at club mac

Ok we travelled with jet2 a party of 5 adults and 5 children aged from 12 down to 2. 1st impressions of club mac wasn't good, no one there to welcome the arrivals and show them were to checkin or assist with luggage etc however I suppose that is a 3 star complex for you. The staff on the reception check in desk where incredibly rude and not at all welcoming.

On arrival in our room our impression was small dated but manageable. Shocked we had to pay extra to watch tv or have the basics like a kettle or fridge the safe I expect to pay for .. But not a tv fridge or kettle when we are all inclusive
A few people have mentioned about clean sheets and towels not being provided during there stay, this was also something we had a problem with and only got by asking the maids who sometimes refused as they had run out or by actually taking off the trolley ourselves. We was on the 4th floor of the saturno which was ok apart from noise late at night and the music on the saturno stage playing till around 11pm

The food was average on the lower scale of average and definitely the poorest all inclusive we have stayed in. Quite often cold and children sticking fingers in it. But then again that would be the parents fault not club mac. The resturant staff where by far the best and most helpful staff in the entire resort.

Drinks are a plenty and a lot of the guests in typical British style take full advantage of this while there children are left to fend for themselves. There have been many comments about chavs and Jeremy Kyle guests! These are very very true unfortunately!!

Pools are a plenty but we stayed around the saturno pool which was freezing but seemed to have a better class of people around this one x even my children said they didn't want to go to the Jupiter pool as that they said was the chav pool!! This to me spoke volumes!! I also heard many guests referring to that side of the complex as the rough bit!

There is a distinct lack of security within club mac bring open to anyone to enter as nobody checks for wristbands on the entrance this made me slightly nervous especially when u have people trying to sell u things around the pool

All in all if I had to sum up the sort of holiday you can look forward to here it would be a pontins with sun!! I wouldn't recommend it to any of my close friends or family but most definitely to certain people I know who live in rough areas and like to sit outside there house when it's slightly warm with there case of Stella and top off, as they will love it!!

In our party all the children loved it and the adults made the best of the situation. Alcudia is a beautiful place so we would definitely return there but out choice of hotel wouldn't be club mac!!

We had a great 2 weeks at Club Mac, we stayed in the Marte in a normal room with 2 double beds. Check in was quick. Room clean and tidy and more than enough space.

It is a big complex, and our first thought was omg have we bitten off more than we can chew?? lol.
But we did enjoy our stay. Yes towards the end i was ready for home, parents not watching there kids, animation team must get so fed up of having to tell the kids to get down off he stage and steps of a night!!! And just other little bits, like people not using the hand gel going into the resturants. Club Mac do a good job and keeping the place clean and tidy but is it realy to hard for people to pick up after themselves a little bit?? I now where all on holiday but please!!! Watching your plastic club blow off the tables ect and just leaving it!! tut!

Anyway thats just litle bits of nothing!

Animaton team clock up some hours! Dong activites for th adults and kids through the day, and then the kids mini disco plus other shows they put on! Amazing how they all keep going! There is news ltters in each of the resturants fantastic to keep upi filled in on what happen so easy to forget with so much going on! Only thing we had to pay for was the kids painting t-shirt, that was 4 euro per shirt.
The pedalos are free between 10am and 1pm.
Always food avaible between 8am and 12pm!!! tea/coffee water and juice 24/7 in the marte ot sure about the other 2.
We had theater park pass!!! Fantastic money saver and just across the road!
Never struged to get a lounger around the hotel pools! About the only hotel i can say that about!!!
It's hard to cover everything that may help, but we hada good time and would def go again! It's not a quite hotel, it is busy and big, so just bea tha in mind

I have never stayed in a hotel of this size before (3,500 guests over the 3 hotels I was told!!), and I was dubious about everything, especially after some of the reviews I read on here. However, we stayed and ate in the Jupiter Hotel for 7 nights (June 2012) and it was clean, the staff were friendly, the entertainment pretty good (what we saw), and the food . . The food, I thought, was amazing. A good choice every night and, despite the numbers they were having to cater for, it was well cooked, delicious, inventive and very very good. I tried new things from Angler Fish and Swordfish to tripe!!!! Also favourites like roast pork and crackling, chilli, spagetti, paella and so much more. There were queue issues in the show cooking area most mealtimes, but you can't really expect there not to be in a hotel of this size. The inclusive beer, wine and soft drinks were excellent (San Miguel, Pepsi, chocolate milk, slushes etc). My only complaint would be, as the kids in our party only drink fruit juice, water or milk, they were stuck with water or milk as the fruit juices were revolting!!!! tasted like sherbert and water mixed!!!.
The water park is great fun, but be warned - they charge €4 for a sunbed and €5 for a locker!
If you get a chance to go to the Pirate show in Magaluf then do it. It's amazing!!
The 5 of us had a fantastic holiday, thankyou Club Mac.

I can say that in general our stay was better than we anticipated thanks to the quality of food at the buffett and the evening entertainment. Both kids loved it but unfortunetly our stay was only for 5 nights. We might go back again but for 7 nights as 5 is too short.

This is without a doubt the worst hotel Iv ever stayed in- hated it from beginning to end. Unorganized and long wait to get booked in when we arrived at the hotel. I read in several reviews it was full of chavs- how true! parents getting drunk, kids bored, entertainment was so poor I felt embarassed for them- the food was awful- paid for all inclusive yet every day we had breakfast then stayed out of the hotel for the entire day & ate out also- very poor food at the hotel. Pools are FREEZING and forget it if you think your going to get a sunlounger. The best thing about this hotel is there is a bus stop right outside to get you out of there!!!! takes you straight to the beach which I have to say is a lovely beach. Rarely change the sheets or towels- a lot of the time you have to ask & don't always get. I am not the hardest to please but expect basic standards to be met- it certainly wasnt cheap but this hotel was shocking. Very overpriced shop in the grounds of the hotel & one nearby also. This holiday was the most disappointing Iv been on & I spent a small fortune as I couldnt eat in the hotel that I had paid for. also, its a fairly long walk in the heat if you want to get anywhere like the beach or main shops/restaurants too hot to walk it during the day so its buses or taxi's.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep at night probably best to pick a room on a high floor if possible but be warned...
