“fantastic hotel”
Reviewed 31 October 2011

went to this hotel in September the place was spotless, when we arrived there where flowers and a bottle of wine in the room, the room was excellent and the shower nearly bigger than my whole bathroom. We where all inlusive and had a fridge with water, beer and soft drinks this was filled as necessary. The food was excellent, plenty of choice, always hot. The staff where friendly but professional, and they worked very hard to ensure we had a good time. This was listed as a 4 star and was well worth it. There where two pools both nice and clean one with a few ballantine beds, we never had a problem getting a sun bed at any time of the day. This was a Protur Hotel, and they seem to be of a high standard. The beach was good but the Hotel was that good we did not really want to go out. We did use the crazy golf and there was plenty of other things to do.

Negatives, none about the Sa Coma Playa however we did go to the Tapas Restauant one night which is part of the group, that was awful, 8 People actually walked out while we where there, hard dry bread to start, and the rest inedible, we just wished we had stayed in the Hotel., when we told the Rep the reply was 'yes we know it is awful'. The only other thing was the Spa this is not in the Sa Coma Playa but the Sister Hotel next door, we paid to go in the thermal suite, this was nice but glass had broken in the window and had not been repaired, dirt was encrusted in the crack, this was in the 5 star Hotel, not what you expecct

I would recommend this Hotel but also the Protur group of hotels, this is the second Protur Hotel we have been to.

We stayed here for 11 nights in october, and loved it !!! We are planning to go back springtime next year...and we have never gone back to the same hotel before ! The rooms (we had a select ground floor ) are wonderful and although ours looked onto the entertainment bar this was NO issue, mini bar restocked every day...tea/coffee also restocked...rooms spotless, the staff amazing, especially Paco, what a credit to the hotel....xxxx He was always so happy and always knew what we were drinking......now to food and drink, international brands ...but with some staff you need to say brand names ( Smirnoff etc ) or they serve you national brands. We have been to many AI places and you dont get wine by the bottle at the table but here you do...apart from the Cava..understandably, and Cava was there for breakfast as well....fresh juice...and a freezer full of ice cream not just for kids...but the big kids aswell .... as for the food...... always a huge selection for breakfast lunch and dinner....plus cheeses, and a healthy section if you want it
( but when happy hols ??? just bring elesticated clothes you WILL gain weight here !!)
We did have one problem with the food.....squid .....labeled as onion rings ?? when you have a bad allergy to sea food this was a bit of a problem..... but the manager and asst anger were brillant and did everything they could..........what I would say if you have a problem with seafood let the know and just double check.......also the grilled meats ( cooked lunch and dinner ) if you are vegi or like me have a problem with seafood or shellfish.......they would cook on seperate grilled if you ask !! My hubby loved the wok cooking in the evening. As an AI guest you are allowed 1 visit per week to other resturants. on the complex ..we never did as we were more than happy with the hotel....and didnt want to be restricted to a time elsewhere......the whole feeling here was total relaxation .......just what the doctor ordered.........speaking of which as my hubby is disabled in this hotel nothing was to far to walk to to.......not sure the aparthotel is the same.
Now entertaiment.....Rod Stewart tribute act amazing....Brazilian Dancers .wow...they danced in shoes I wouldnt even try to walk in !!! one other act was so cheesy and bad we just had to stay to the end to watch !! They only downside of our whole experiance was the flights....so cramed the coach had more leg room.....Thompson rep was wonderful.....flights there and back WORST ever in my life.....(beware if you need onboard oxygen they set it at 4 litres a min.....nearly killed my hubby on way out...... then on way back it stopped working !!!!) Also I think a 6.30 pick up ( but be there 20 mins befoore ????) for a 10.20 flight was unbeliavable, when quized the rep said sorry, you should be on the 7 am pick up !!!
( ok Sa Comma is just over an hour from Palma airport but the hotel is well worth the time )
If you want more details check out the Protour website very honest and explains so much more ) Overall a fantanstic hotel....wonderful staff.....great rooms....YES the beds are hard...great food.......brilliant place xxx If you have any questions feel free to e-mail

Stayed for 10 days at beginning of October 2011, late booking from 1st Choice. Hotel was very clean, staff friendly and helpful. The bedroom was bigger than expected with the biggest bed I've ever slept in. There were flowers and wine in the room when we arrived.
The food is buffet style but with a good choice and good quality. There was fish and meat every night with a wok station as well.
The grounds were immaculate and pool area clean with plenty of sun loungers.
Evening entertainment was OK but nothing special. Drinks were reasonable and same price as local bars etc.
The sister hotels provided many free activities which you should take advantage of.
I couldn't fault this hotel and will definitely go back.

Stayed here for a week on oct 13th. Luckily the weather held for our duration and we came away with nice glowing tans. On arrival we were greeted well and our room was a short walk around the corner on the ground floor which we preferred. The rooms are very modern and clean with everything needed including a mini bar. The beds and pillows are so comfortable and slept easily. We found breakfast to be the best meal for us as the main meals can be a little miss match but plenty of food on offer to suit adults and kids. The country grill we would miss second time around as food was cold and too rare for us. The michelin star restaurant was stunning and food was delicious. Pool area clean and spacious enough for privacy. Entertainment needed upgrading but one or two were ok (chinese acrobatics). Bar staff friendly enough and great with kids. Hotel had lots of germans staying. Beach worth a visit, the sea was so clear and warm and only a ten minute walk over the road. Already looking to rebook with the kids.

My husband and I stayed here for 10 nights from the 7th October, we had a lovely time and both think its one of the nicest hotels that we have ever stayed in.
The staff were very friendly and helpful .Our room was really good and kept very clean. I liked that it had a kettle and tea, coffee etc. Not many hotels abroad offer that. It was mentioned on other reviews that the shower gel and shampoo were not replaced often but ours was everyday.
We found the free wifi to be very useful and quick as we still had to check emails, etc while on holiday.
The food was good for all inclusive with a lot of choice each day, we preferred to have lunch at the pool bar though and the only problem being that all inclusive stopped at 1.00 then you had to use the restaurant.
There were lots of sunbeds and well spaced out too. The pool area and gardens were kept imaculate.
The entertainment was ok but we are not that bothered about it anyway.
We would go back again without hesitation.

We had a wonderful 7 night holiday in this hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly! The food was incredible! Only problem is, I put on nearly a stone in weight in 7 days!! But hey, who cares, I enjoyed every minute of it! Thats what holidays are for, There was so much choice and everything was delicious! rooms cleaned every day, all inclusive definately reccomended. waiters so cheerful and the entertainment was great. especially the brasillian show (my husband is brasilian so bonus). the spanish famenco, and Irish dancers, all great! our last night was 2 guys and a lady who sang older stuff like jackson five and motown, they were excellent! we could eat from 8 am til 12 pm if we wanted!! and we did! lol.. only been home few days and we miss the place so much!! if we win the lottery, we are going to move in there!! we loved the free bike hire, we recommend that, cycling along side the beach was so relaxing. we were on our belated honeymoon, and found champagne on ice one evening! and another night wine and flower arrangement brought to our room.. so thoughtful.. lose some weight before you go, or be prepared to lose it when u come home! you will have a wonderful holiday....

We stayed for 10 nights from the 6 October and enjoyed the uncluttered luxury and spaciousness of the hotel and the grounds. Sunbeds are well spaced out and there was never a problem getting one at any time. The free bike hire was a bonus for us as we have spent a lot of money hiring them in the past, although some of them were in need of some minor repairs. The meal choices were never ending and there was always something different each day. A lovely resort and we would definitely go back.

Room Tip: If you prefer sun in your room later in the day, then rooms looking onto the main pool may be better...
