“4star? Really?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2011

We stayed for 2 weeks early June, on arrival check in was quick and easy. We stayed self catering and out apartment was spotless on arrival. Nice room but kitchen a bit inadequate.
On the whole we had a good stay.
PROs.

Mainly friendly helpful staff, the bar staff were always eager to please and very friendly.
The entertainment staff are amazing and work very hard.
The lobby area was always very clean and relaxing.
The whole protur sa coma resort was good, we visited la reserva "water park" twice, it's not a water park it's a swimming pool with two small slides! BUT we enjoyed it. However on our 1st visit I cut my foot open on a sunlounger (yes a sunlounger!) and asked the "lifeguard" for assistance.... He didnt speak one word of English so trying to get across what I'd done was difficult as was asking if I could still go in the water. He pointed to the water and shrugged his shoulders so I assumed it was ok to
Go in!

CONs
The hotel had a fair few hidden costs which thomson fail to tell you!

Sauna,wifi,safety deposit box.
We did buy a wifi card (i need it for my buisness) which Is seemingly good value €5 for ten hours.HOWEVER we were very lucky if we managed to get a connection,I repeatedly told reception who looked at me as if I was talking an unknown language. By the time ten days of dodgy wifi had passed I took it upon myself to reset the wifi box myself each time I needed it.

The hotel has predominately German guests, another thing Thomson fail to tell you, which is fine if you speak German and don't mind the rudeness of the majority
of them ;) don't bother attempting a game of pool at the outside bar, we tried several times but each time we were spectated by at least 3 German children.... Spectated is the wrong word... At one point we had a child ON the pool table.
I found communicating in English hard at times, la reserva was particually difficult. Yes I'm
Aware we were in a spanish speaking country BUT it is sold by Thomson .... A British holiday company.

The pool area- the pool was freezing the first week and always unclean, leaves and debris always floating it in and a nice film of greasy sun lotion to add to it too. The inside pool was not as it's described "heated" ..... Heated it wasn't ! It was freezing!
The sauna, which we used once at a cost of €5 was ok(ish) and if you like ants you will LOVE it. ;)

Now although the apartment was spotless on arrival that's as far as the cleanliness went.
Dust was ridiculous, the kitchen sink was not cleaned once in the whole 2 weeks, bathroom was very basically cleaned,no cleaning behind the doors and the toilet never had a proper clean.
I'm not sure the bedroom was ever cleaned just the bed made.

We ate at the restaurant once...... That was enough! Warm slop. Glad we went self catering.

All in all if you don't have high standards of cleanliness and like warm slop then I recommend this hotel.
I wouldn't stay here again. BUT would recommend to family's. Purely for the entertainment and the resort.
I do feel I'm being a bit picky but we are used to holidaying in the states where nothing is too much hassle and no added extras, we prob wouldn't do Europe again.
Weather was ok here tho! ;)

We only stayed a week but had great weather which really made it. We had no trouble with sun beds but that was most probably because it was in May. We were well impressed with the room and we had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool area. If you ask for a room on the 2nd floor they are the ones with the larger balconeys we had room no. 247. The hotel had only just been refurbished and renovated so everything was brand new which was a bonus, and that is why most probably we found the beds far too hard to sleep on hopefully with more use they will soften. Overall a great holiday and great aparthotel.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms are the best have large balconies

Booked this hotel after reading reviews on trip advisor, was definitely not disappointed. rooms are huge, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Seperate bedroom was enormous, plenty of storage/hanging space. kitchen facilities consisted of fridge, 2 electric rings and a microwave, would have appreciated a toaster but maybe would have set off smoke detectors? Bathroom wouldn't be out of place in a 5-star hotel. All public areas were beautifully maintained, location was absolutely perfect, staff very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this hotel and the resort, we will definitely return.

Just returned from a week at the Vista Badia. Our party consisted of 7 adults with children aged 13,12,4 and 17mths. Overall a very good experience. The staff work really hard, from the restaurant staff ,the waitersat the bar , the cleaning staff and especially the childrens entertainment team. Proty was really popular with the younger children and they really loved the mini disco. We each had a 1 bedroom apartment which was finished to a high standard . We stayed all inclusive which we found on the whole to be of a good standard, something for everyone. I especially liked the show cooking where you can watch your food being cooked. The location is good being about 5 minute walk from the lovely beach. Only problem was the weather which we hadnt expected so never actually got to stay on the beach.
I would say the only negative for us was for the older children who because of the weather and the pool being cold there wasn't so much for them to do. The indoor pool is quite small and although it was warmer inside the water wasn't heated.
Would we go again? Yes, but maybe later in the year.

This is our 4th time at the Vista Badia, the previous 3 times were in 3 consecutive years approx 8-11 years ago, so was very interested to see how much if anything it had changed over the years! It had obviously been recently refurbished and to a very high standard! Was really happy with our room although arriving in the early hours we could not really appreciate it until the next morning! We were lucky to have a large balcony overlooking the pool which was handy being 3 adults and a 3 year old! The maid working on our floor was really friendly and made a terrific job of cleaning the apartment she definately deserved the 2 days a week the maids get off! The pool was great and the hotel itself was very clean! I must mention the mini disco as my little one is very well travelled in her 3 years and this is the best mini disco i have seen, the childrens reps give it there all and are fantastic with the little ones and its 45 mins long not a 3 song and then wait over an hour for next entertainment to start plus the children get to meet Proty every night which is always the childs highlight! So special thank you to Anya and the 2 lads... although there were 2 more starting as we were leaving and they looked just the same enthusiastic and hard working reps!
We are already looking for next year and no one will be disappointed with this hotel very recommended!!

We returned to the Vista Badia after 5 years and it is exactly how we remembered it! It has had a bit of a face lift, the rececption looks lovely, the rooms have all been recently, this winter I think, refurbished. The welcome from the staff who remembered us was over whelming and the staff that didn' know were just as nice. The service was excellent, especially from Wendy on reception who if yu had a problem couldn't do enough to help you, what an asset she is to the hotel! The food in the restuarant was very good, we stayed self catering but did have one meal there. The maids who clean the rooms work very hard as do the maintenance staff. There is a lovely club for the children and "Proty" the club mascot makes an apperance most days, there is something to keep the children happy most of the time. The resort itself is unchanged from how we remember it. The best place to eat if you are self catering is the Royal Oak where you will be welcomed by Tina, Jess, Claire and Leon, the food there is fantastic and you get plenty of it! For drinks you can't beat the "Cristabol/British Sports Bar" which is on the way to the beach, it is run by Gabriel. All in all we had a lovely relaxing time and will not be leaving it so long to return!

Just back from staying at this hotel, 2 adults 1 teenager and a 1 year old, The hotel is very nice to look at although a little on the quiet and bordering on boring side, I would like to think I'd give this hotel a 2nd chance hoping that second time round I would experience a better stay??? here it is as honesty goes.. Arrived at 11.45pm starving with nowhere to eat, other than crisps at the quiet hotel bar, walked to 3rd floor to be met by a very nice room, next morning our view from the small balcony had no pool or sea view only a view of a dusty roof and hotel across the road, by the 3rd day we got a little fed up of being woken up at 6am by the adjacent hotels many roosters! lack of a view and sunless balcony come 11am, kindly moved to another room we got infested with ants and filthy sticky floor with black hairs everywhere! The cleanliness and hygiene badly lacked on the 3rd floor right hand side of the building! All that could be done was to move back to our old room, when you pay money for a holiday you do like the thought of sunny balconies and a half decent view, the food is average, all inclusive food at the pool bar left out all day, evening entertainment is utterly diabolical! Its not fit to be called entertainment You need to see it to believe it! The english receptionist could crack a smile once in a while also, walk to beach is 10 mins away stunning beach!
