We stayed for 2 weeks early June, on arrival check in was quick and easy. We stayed self catering and out apartment was spotless on arrival. Nice room but kitchen a bit inadequate.
On the whole we had a good stay.
Mainly friendly helpful staff, the bar staff were always eager to please and very friendly.
The entertainment staff are amazing and work very hard.
The lobby area was always very clean and relaxing.
The whole protur sa coma resort was good, we visited la reserva "water park" twice, it's not a water park it's a swimming pool with two small slides! BUT we enjoyed it. However on our 1st visit I cut my foot open on a sunlounger (yes a sunlounger!) and asked the "lifeguard" for assistance.... He didnt speak one word of English so trying to get across what I'd done was difficult as was asking if I could still go in the water. He pointed to the water and shrugged his shoulders so I assumed it was ok to
The hotel had a fair few hidden costs which thomson fail to tell you!
Sauna,wifi,safety deposit box.
We did buy a wifi card (i need it for my buisness) which Is seemingly good value €5 for ten hours.HOWEVER we were very lucky if we managed to get a connection,I repeatedly told reception who looked at me as if I was talking an unknown language. By the time ten days of dodgy wifi had passed I took it upon myself to reset the wifi box myself each time I needed it.
The hotel has predominately German guests, another thing Thomson fail to tell you, which is fine if you speak German and don't mind the rudeness of the majority
of them ;) don't bother attempting a game of pool at the outside bar, we tried several times but each time we were spectated by at least 3 German children.... Spectated is the wrong word... At one point we had a child ON the pool table.
I found communicating in English hard at times, la reserva was particually difficult. Yes I'm
Aware we were in a spanish speaking country BUT it is sold by Thomson .... A British holiday company.
The pool area- the pool was freezing the first week and always unclean, leaves and debris always floating it in and a nice film of greasy sun lotion to add to it too. The inside pool was not as it's described "heated" ..... Heated it wasn't ! It was freezing!
The sauna, which we used once at a cost of €5 was ok(ish) and if you like ants you will LOVE it. ;)
Now although the apartment was spotless on arrival that's as far as the cleanliness went.
Dust was ridiculous, the kitchen sink was not cleaned once in the whole 2 weeks, bathroom was very basically cleaned,no cleaning behind the doors and the toilet never had a proper clean.
I'm not sure the bedroom was ever cleaned just the bed made.
We ate at the restaurant once...... That was enough! Warm slop. Glad we went self catering.
All in all if you don't have high standards of cleanliness and like warm slop then I recommend this hotel.
I wouldn't stay here again. BUT would recommend to family's. Purely for the entertainment and the resort.
I do feel I'm being a bit picky but we are used to holidaying in the states where nothing is too much hassle and no added extras, we prob wouldn't do Europe again.
Weather was ok here tho! ;)
