“Loud music”
Reviewed 5 October 2011

A very good place for families with young children and would be great if the entertainment finished at 9 but it doesn't. Quite second rate entertainment later, very loud and going on until around 12 during the season. As many of the apartments face the stage, it's impossible to talk/ watch tv etc. during the evening. If your apartment faces the front, there's karaoke to contend with. People going back to their rooms can also disturb throughout the night. Very loud music poolside too, so don't see this as a quite, restful retreat! Food in the hotel is very good but pricey if you don't go for 1/2 board when you book. Food in the town is very mediocre, more like Blackpool than Spain.
The plus side is that Thomson always give a good travel experience and that was seamless.

Room Tip: Probably better to have a room facing the pool, at least the entertainment stops at 12.

no problem with sunbeds even at 10 o clock.
the food was beautiful and plenty of choice.all areas of hotel were lovely and clean.the thomson team worked so hard to keep everybody happy.well worth the four star, and thomson gold.would come back again absolutley.the beach is very clean and safe.
took the train to callor millor 3 euros return, well worth a trip.
also went on boat trip for 3 hours bargain 18 euros which went to a few different resorts, you could also get off and swim.

well what can i say when we arrived we was suprised at how nice the hotel and room was after reading some reviews . how wrong were they we found everything was better than we expected n loved our stay the veiw over the pool and out to sea was awsome (apartment 622) as for the noise there wasnt mutch so wasnt a problem . sunbeds always availeble might be because of the time of year (21st sep to 28th) beach was close and really nice. bars in the resort were a bit quiet but thats why we went to sa coma to relax. only had one gripe n thats we arrived at 3.30 in the morning and everything was shut n after a long enough flight and transfer we could have done wi a cuppa. ie a welcome drinks pack would be appreciated

Great hotel.
Our room (4th floor) had a wonderful view of the sea and also overlooked the pool.
Would echo the other remarks on here regarding towels on sunbeds, but until management make a firm stand and chuck any towels on unused sunbeds into a hamper and make their owners dig them out, nothing will change. I once removed some towels from 2 sunbeds and we used the beds. The towel owners came back about 3 hours later and complained that we had 'nicked' their sunbeds. We just pointed to the sign that said 'No reserving sunbeds' and politely suggested that they complain to management, and they knew they'd lost. Perhaps if more people did this the problem would solve itself?
Helpful staff, and although we didn't have any children with us we thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment put on for them!
It was lovely to see the children dancing and joining in games, although some parents could not control either themselves or their children after they'd sunk a few drinks and one woman was totally obnoxious to a staff member, demanding that he retrieve her son's ball from the roof that he'd thrown it on - 'Oy - you! What you gunna do about that then? 'E wants it back NOW'. Credit to the waiter for being polite and not telling her to take a running jump and take her brat of a child with her.
Free TV in room with enough channels to watch when getting ready etc.
Rooms can be cleaned every day, but we didn't need this and asked just for the beds to be made daily and room cleaned every couple of days.
Beds are a bit uncomfortable and my back is still killing me - but I have suffered with back-pain for almost 40 years and so can't totally blame the bed!
Clean towels always available - maids really helpful.
5 minutes away from a beautiful beach.
It's quiet resort, but that suited us and we spent a couple of nights in the Brittania and the King's Head pubs for karaoke nights and a Westlife tribute that was excellent. The Coma Gran had a Rod Stewart tribute act and a staff performance of 'Grease' that were both very enjoyable.
Never heard much music from the '60s Music Bar' though!
We were self-catering and would recommend JJs and the Atlantic for really delicious meals.
The little train to Cala Millor was only 2 euros each and was a good way to see a lot of the resorts of S'illot, Sa Coma and Cala Millor.

We had a lovely 11 days at the coma gran. We went b&b but looking back wish we had gone all Inc! Hotel food was lovely,we paid for a few evening meals at the hotel as the food in sa coma was getting very boring and expensive! Hotel was great for the kids the entertainment team were brilliant. The beach was lovely and the sea was warmer than the hotel pool. There isn't much to do in sa coma and there arnt many places to walk. We had a great time and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful but we wouldn't go back as it's a bit too quiet.

Sa Coma is a very clean resort so upon arriving was hoping the hotel would continue that trend. On arrival the hotel looks nice and as you walk into the reception a nice icy blast hits you from their air conditioning. The reception is smart, clean and it does look and feel like a 4* hotel. Me and my partner went self catering and despite being a couple at a 'family' resort, we were not bothered by lots of children or families (not that that would have been a problem). The room was spacious and had everything we needed: Hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, air conditioning (of a sort), TV (with BBC 2, ITV, Channel 5 and Sky News), Shower, bath, separate bedroom with twin beds, wardrobes and a balcony to sit out on which got lovely sunshine late afternoon.

We didn't use the pool or the restaurant so cant comment on those.

The pool looked very small, it is a family resort so they were around the pool a lot and made it look packed. Due to everyone warning about the 'sunbeds being gone by 7:30am' in other reviews we decided to wake up when we woke up and wander to the beach, which was beautiful. The Eroski hypermarket is less than a 5 minute walk around the corner and has a lot of english products and its easy to shop for if you're self catering. We decided to not get our room cleaned every day, seemed excessive, but they would have if we had requested it. The safe was 'safe' and cost 22 Euros of which 10 were a deposit and you got it back at the end of the stay. Our room was over the front of the hotel, and while the view wasn't the best, the sun on the balcony afternoon/evening and a good nights sleep (the entertainment and noise was all out the back) was great for us, we didn't hear a thing. The air conditioning is noisy and not that powerful, but it will chill the apartment to a nice temperature after a while. The beach is a 3 minute walk from the hotel and it is not located on the beach as some images may suggest. The main issue I suffered with was the temperature at night (cant be helped), it was so hot and once I woke up there wasn't any getting back to sleep...the air conditioning is not good enough to keep you really cool at night.

For the £252pp I paid for the 'package' of flight, transfer and hotel I could not have been more pleased with my holiday. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a decent hotel on a budget.

Room Tip: 1. In Reception you will find useful things that departing families leave behind! 2. Rooms over the...

We Have just returned from this hotel 22nd sep 2011 me and my husband had a wonderful holiday this hotel is very clean all of the staff are very friendly. We were half board the food is great lots to eat if anybody said they couldn't find anything to eat they are very very fussy. even vegertarians had lots to chose from. Every morning full Engish, cheese, ham, cakes, friut, boild, scrambled, fryed eggs, and everything that goes with it. We were given a room with not a very good view so we ask to change and the next day we were given a lovely room on the sixth floor with fab views out to sea and looking over to the mountains. Not so many older children there then so had no bother getting a sunbed at 9am becuase the beds on the beach were 13 euros 80 cents for 2beds and a brolly very expensive.I would recomend this hotel to anybody you can go half board or self catering. Iwould like say a big thank you to Rachel and Emma for being very fiendly and helpful They work very hard thank you thank you me and my husband have been going abroad for thirty years and I think they are two of the best from Matty and Brenda. Some people will always complain where ever they are cant please all of the people all of the time. Dont think about it just book it trust me. I dont know what it is like in july but Sep no wild children running around it is lovely.

Room Tip: facing the street 6th floor have fab views and know night noise sunny in the afternoon big balcony
