We spent 11days on half board basis. 2 adults & a 16yr old. Hotel has had a major refurb, even the pool has changed, added a splash park & play area which was brilliant for younger kids. Food was excellent, 2 chefs cooking every night & plenty of choice. We never struggled to find something we all liked & I've got 2 fussy eaters!! Hotel was spotless, cleaning staff were about all day working hard. Room was cleaned every day apart from a Weds. Can't comment on entertainment as we went out every night. Only down side was people putting towels on beds @ 6.30 every morning!! Would definitely recommend this hotel to families with younger children but wouldn't return as not much for the teenagers.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in July 2014. Travelled as a family of 4 including a 3 year old and a 6 month old. We booked this hotel as it was a Thomson Family HOtel and an alternative to a holiday village. Fantastic first impression - the recent refurbishment seems to have been very successful by all accounts. Rooms were great - we had a one bedroom apartment, little kitchen with fridge and microwave, kettle etc was perfect for making up baby bottles and baby food. My 3 three enjoyed sleeping on the sofa in the lounge too, plus the TV had kids channels and BBC,ITV, C4,C5 so he was happy! The rooms were cleaned 6 days out of 7 and we always had plenty of towels. We took full advantage of the kids club, our 3 year old loved it and as a teacher myself I have to say I was very impressed with the range of activities, cleanliness and level of interaction with staff, they were also really friendly and greeted children with enthusiasm. Well done to all the staff there - Bethany and Ash were my little boy's favourites! We also used the creche a few times for our 6 month old and again the staff there were brilliant, feeding our little boy or keeping him happy (he was grumpy and teething that week!) with a wide selection of toys. We also loved the soft play room (almost always just us in it), the baby room and the laundry room with 2 large washers and a dryer for use by guests for 3 euros. We loved the pool, children's pool (bit chilly) and splash park. Our first week was fine for sunloungers and had no problem getting one even at lunchtime but our second week we needed to be down by 9am to get one and reserve it with towels. We looked out at 6am one day and already people had been down reserving them so this may get worse...? We've had this in plenty other hotels we've stayed at too across the world so not sure how you stop it. The entertainment definitely appealed most to our 3 year old but we were entertained by him dancing, singing along to it. The rep's worked hard to make it enjoyable and Thomson the Dog was a massive hit with little ones.
We found the restaurant and food very good. I loved the salads and desserts. There was a kids section and my little boy enjoyed choosing his own breakfast and dinner (we were half board). We were also able to take our buggy into the restaurant as there's plenty of space and our baby could sit/sleep in there while we enjoyed our dinner. Can also recommend the bar food at lunchtime as didn't feel ripped off - 6 euros for a large pizza and 4 euros for a toastie and chips and freshly made to order.
Overall this hotel more than exceeded our expectations and we really enjoyed our holiday here! Highly recommend!

Room Tip: We had a 5th floor room and still picked up the free wifi most of the time.

we have just returned from the coma gran after spending 2weeks there with my hubby and 2 boys 11 and 7.this was our 5th time here and the refurbishment was a lovely surprise,we knew that it was being done but not like it was,its very modern, the pool was nice but the splash park and playground was really for under 5s,was disappointed that they had made the football pitch a lot smaller,it used to be big but I don't think its big enough for the amount of kids who wanted to play,so through august it could b even worse, the seating and bar area was nice, very clean, the bar staff was nice especially tano, ana, and liber, they have been there a few years and always remember us and make us feel welcome, theres a girl who works behind the bar called Natalia, shes so miserable and can make you feel like you have done something wrong, but don't feel like this when you go as shes the same with everyone and a lot of people are talking about this,i just cant believe shes got a job working there!the reception staff are very welcoming too.we was all inclusive and the food was beautiful but we just got fed up of going in to the restaurant and seeing similar food all the time, but theres plenty to choose from so no one will go hungry, the bar food is very nice, big portions but the service is very slow, whether your going for a drink or food!the entertainment team was good they didnt seem to encourage the kids to get involved that much, but we did feel like our kids was too old for this hotel, the entertainment at night was awful, the worst ive ever seen!probably saw 2 ok acts out of the 2 weeks!the reps nights wasn't good either, but party paul, shabba and atomic ash was loved by the little ones, all in all we did have a lovely holiday but really think if you have got kids over the age of 5 its best going somewhere else or take plenty of euros cos they will constantly want them for the snooker tables as that's all there is for the older kids!hope this helps, have a nice time x

Room Tip: we was in room 206 lovely view of the pool, but we was above the stage so if you want an early night...

Stayed for 7 days self catering between Jul 22nd - 29th, went with a group of 6 adults and 6 children ages ranging from 18 months to 15 years. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coma Gran and would certainly consider staying there again, the hotel was clean and tidy as was the pool and bar areas. The young children really enjoyed the kids club activities and the entertainment team never stopped working, Party Paul, atomic Ash and Chabba really did keep everyone entertained through the day and night. We used the pool and splash park every day and again this kept the kids entertained, meaning the adults had plenty of time to relax on the sun loungers.

We visited the beach a couple of days and this really is only a 5 min walk from the hotel and was kept very well maintained, with plenty going on if you want to walk the length of the bay to get involved in the various water sports.

In terms of food we ate in a couple of restaurants the Brittania (ok), Juans (pretty good) before finding Kenna's Irish Bar on day 3 and we then ate there for the rest of the week. The food in this bar is superb only surpassed by the staff who are so friendly and helpful and by the end of our week almost felt like friends.

Overall we had an excellent time staying at the Coma Gran and my only one grumble would be that the air conditioning was not overly effective or reliable, with temperatures hitting 35 c this did make things a little sticky at night.

We just returned from a fantastic weeks holiday at the Coma Gran, currently very much wishing we had booked a longer stay (and already looking at booking for next year!).

Every area of the hotel was spotless, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food of a high standard and with a great variety at breakfast and evening buffets! The apartments have ample facilities to allow you to self cater although we were all inclusive.

The newly refurnished pool area was excellent with fantastic areas for children (of all ages as I had a few goes on the slides too).

What made this hotel first class for us was the Entertainment and Childcare Teams! Our son is only 2 but was enthralled by Thomson the Dog and Party Paul. The soft play and baby room provide a break from the heat and a chance for smaller children to play together, the crèche and kids club looked excellent. (We didn't use them however that's a personal choice not a reflection on the service provided.)

On the whole an excellent hotel that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

We have just got back from a one week holiday to the Coma Gran hotel and we all had the most amazing time none stop fun from the moment we got up till the moment we all fell into bed. We've already been back to the travel agents to book again for next year but for 2 weeks as one week was just not enough.

Room Tip: Ask for pool view.
